  1. My bags are laid out like this:

    1. Normal bag x9
    2. Olmakhan bag x2
    3. Invisible bag

    The Olmakhan bags collect containers and consumable items and prevent items from moving. The invisible bag prevents compacting items or depositing materials as well as hiding items from merchants. The normal bags are filled from top to bottom with other drops, and can be compacted after depositing materials.

    I believe this is the best setup to keep your inventory organized. The way it works:

    • Store potions and food in the invisible bag (also things like candy corn for the gobbler must go in this bag)
    • Don't permanently store anything in any of the other bags, they are only for collecting and processing drops
      • (You may choose to replace one of the normal bags with another invisible bag for more permanent storage)
    • Champion boxes and unidentified gear pile up in the Olmakhan bag
    • Other drops as well as the results from opening champion boxes/unid gear will pile up in the normal bags

    The reason why is this is great is the Olmakhan bags create groups of items that you need to click on, clearly separating them from the items you can just salvage or sell. Loot is always at the top of your inventory. The items you keep on you permanently are always at the bottom of your inventory.

  2. Hello, my PC started crashing a few weeks ago whenever I play Gw2. It started happening after I transported my computer by car, so I think some component might have gotten unseated. Or perhaps it was the update to Windows 11 22H2 that is causing my problems. The only strange thing is that it doesn't happen with any other game or stress test like Furmark. Has anyone ever seen anything like this?

    Specs:

    • ASUS Z170 Pro Gaming motherboard
    • Intel i7 7700k processor
    • 32GB DDR4 memory (4x Corsair CMK16GX4M2B3000C15)
    • NVIDIA Geforce GTX 980 Ti graphics card (PCIe x8, I guess I have too many expansion cards to run at x16)
    • Intel SSD 750 Series boot drive (PCIe x4, NVMe)
    • Intel Wi-Fi 6E AX210 network card (PCIe x1)
    • Windows 11 (22H2)

    I can play Gw2 for a few minutes and then I start seeing weird colors and shapes just moments before my PC restarts. I can play for longer without crashing if I turn down the graphics settings to Best performance, up to a few hours. The crashes are almost immediate if I set the game to Best appearance. There is no BSOD, just an immediate reboot. I checked temperatures but that is not the issue, everything stays quite cool. I tested with motherboard defaults to check it's not a bad overclock, but the crashes still happen. Again, the crashes don't happen in any other game or stress test/benchmak tool.

    Thoughts?

    UPDATE

    I tried reseating the video card but that only made it worse somehow! Furmark also started showing artifacts and crashing my computer in the same manner. I took out the video card again and cleaned the connector with isopropyl alcohol. My computer has not crashed again since I did that. I really hope that was it!

  3. Title is quite self-explanatory. There is no reason why you would want to do this. On the other hand, I've removed plenty of them by accident. In fact I just did it again, prompting me to write this post.

    Perhaps making it totally impossible will also upset some people so let's meet somewhere in the middle. Make it impossible to remove a plant while you're holding a pouch of the same kind.

  4. Sorry, but this change was not good. My bank is where I keep items I DON'T want to lose. My own stupidity is going to make me destroy some things I did not mean to, through the mystic forge. Partially because the UI really sucks, and now you made it noisier. Please revert this change or give the UI a full makeover with a search bar and good filtering options. Thanks.

    That's not a good tip at all. It takes ages for the box of supplies to show up. You're talking months to get ~5 of them. And the 2-ranks daily only shows up every couple of days. It's such a contrived and situational thing as to be of almost no value. And in the time you're saving them up, you're likely forgoing things like T3/4/6 material boxes, all for...2 WvW potions. That's 10 minutes of WvW.

    Yes, it is a situational thing, but you are exaggerating. It doesn't take months to get 5 or more. Depends on RNG but they appear quite often. When they do appear, it's almost always the best choice. It's extremely rare that you have to choose between a high value crafting bag or the WvW supplies. Even then the WvW supplies are still the better choice because they give you WXP without time nor effort. If you're not already buying them whenever you can, you're making a mistake. The other mistake is opening them without checking if there is a World Ranker daily.

    • Thanks 1
  6. Back with another tip: how to complete a WvW daily without actually doing WvW.

    You can obtain boxes of WvW supplies from your guild trader, from a Ley-Energy Matter Converter and from a Karmic Converter. Check these traders every day because those boxes are very valuable. Each box gives a random amount of WXP that you can use to complete Daily WvW World Ranker.

    You need to gain 2 world ranks to complete the daily, which takes a looong time to do the normal way. What you want to do instead is save the boxes until you have around 10 or more, and then open them to complete the daily. Usually, it takes between 5 and 10 boxes to complete the achievement, but it can take more because the WXP drop is random. Save the remaining boxes for another day.

    The reward is 2 Potions of WvW reward track and 20 badges of honor, and of course the actual loot from the boxes.

  7. Bind build to equipment template

    Even with hotkeys, changing builds is still messy. Usually I have more builds than armor sets so I reuse the equipment templates for multiple builds.

    • Build template 1 => equipment template 1
    • Build template 2 => equipment template 1
    • Build template 3 => equipment template 2
    • Build template 4 => equipment template 2
    • Build template 5 => equipment template 3

    So this is a bit annoying to remember and it would be good if I could set up the game to bind build templates to equipment templates in a way that activating a build template also activates the equipment template bound to it.

  8. I don't know, no gold ever leaves your wallet if you follow my steps. It's a perceived cost. Again perhaps you are better off selling every drop on the TP, perhaps not. The thing with probabilities is that the pattern only emerges in a large enough sample. I'm only advocating to forge between 4 and 244 items at a time. But honestly you don't need to convince anyone, I'm just writing down some things I found entertaining or useful. No need to ruin it with spreadsheets.

  9. PS- don't blindly sell precursors. If you have enough spirit shards then you can buy all the other materials to craft the legendary and still make a considerable profit. This alone should more than make up for the perceived cost of gambling yellows instead of taking a quick profit.

    You're running at a (significant) loss here and even if it broke even or was even a slight profit it would not be worth the time investment taken for operating the mystic forge.

    Your numbers are correct but I'm not suggesting buying stacks of medallions because the MF is not a free money printer. I'm saying if you happen to come across 4 medallions then it's more entertaining to throw them in the forge for a chance at an Amalgamated gem. If you do it consistently then you can accumulate a good amount of T6 gems over time at no real cost besides a small opportunity cost. If you sell your medallions, you risk having to buy many T6 gems at an unattractive price when you really need them.

    Completing the krait weapon collection through crafting costs a whopping 5g. This should never be a factor to consider for whether or not you should throw weapons into the mystic forge.

    I didn't say that? I said Krait weapons—the ones from the collection—can sometimes be traded for a Provisioner Token. That's the first thing you need to check before you do something else with it. Checking its price is secondary.

    Chances are incredibly high that on the few rolls where you actually get an exotic and not a yellow that the sum of the yellows is worth more than the exotic.

    Yes but my goal is to get precursors, unlocking exotic skins is just a nice benefit. I've received 5 precursors in the last year from recycling my yellow and exotic drops. I don't know how much gold I would have made if I just sold or salvaged for ectos, but you can't put a price on receiving a precursor from Zomorros.

    16 hours ago, Endaris.1452 said:

    What you should instead look out for is that every time you open rare unids is that you first check the sell prices on the TP before you salvage.

    I still do this before I recycle in the MF but Reclaimed weapons and Krait weapons are really the only ones worth selling IMO.

    I would only recommend this with account bound weapons that do not have a sigil or a worthless one inside.

    Or use an endless upgrade extractor if you have access to that kind of luxury.

    Just a heads up after getting the chests open them before you change servers, for me changing servers made them lose superior status.. and just gave me trash.

    I just did the event again to check. I changed maps a few times and even restarted my game but nothing happened. The chests in my inventory were still superior. If it was ever an issue, it's not anymore.

  13. Dante, you mean the item in your inventory was replaced with normal treasure? That never happened to me but I'll check again.

    I forgot to mention, the buried treasures event is on the same timer as the Octovine. When you are done looting Tarir, you can teleport to Desert Highlands to catch the end of the treasure hunt. Or the other way around: you can leave Treasure Hunt 5 minutes early to loot Tarir.
