Its kinde unfortunate but all specs in this game crutch hard on a mechanic or two, 1v1's has never been that fun to me for this reason.

You know, if they had given everybody 3-5 dodges as base, and vigor by default on succesfull dodges, they could have reduced all class passive mitigations/block/invuln, stun/stab spam etc by a long way. 1v1s would have been far more fun, more skill indexed, and the few stuns that existed, mattered that much more. It is still laughable to me that cripple in this game is nion useless, as just about every spec spams passive counters to it. Imagine if cripple meant you couldnt dodge, and it wasnt so easily negated.

Well criple does work, but on the slower professions/elites anything that has teleport ignores it and most probably has a way to remove it easily. Immobilize is the condi that doesn't let you dodge but again it works better on slower professions, thief has several ways out out of it , probably should have made their weakness ccs and CC conditions instead of the "damage" , before it kind of worked but generally if you had damage to kill a thief you could 2 shot everything else.

Literally out of this world balance....this is mindblowing....out of all build they go and nerf warrior which at best was annoying to kill...but leave vindicator, the sustain to dmg ratio is just out of whack . But I wonder is there even any point in asking for the correct balance?

Cause less then competent people complained about a bunker build that couldn't kill them for 30 pages on the forum now they get to play vs bunker builds that can kill them in 5 seconds.

That is what you get for pilling on over one thing, not that it didn't need some nerfs for 1v1 but it still needs allot of buffs to be good support.
Also this is recurring thing when Warrior is THE sidenoder and then gets nerfed the cheese without counter comes out of the woodwork every time.
That is what people get when one trickking one profession and start complaining about other professions cause they haven't touched them, gratz you got your counter nerfed now you have 5 other professions countering you.

Longer season is better for everyone, the longer the season goes, the better the matchmaker can get

Tho they could still remove unranked and add 1vs1/2vs2/3vs3 in a weekly changing rotation

I think the game had larger pvp population when the seasons were longer, might be other factors like the pvp lobby not being so kittening depressing and the pvp didn't force everything in the middle of the graph.

Currently pvp needs huge signal boost and easier access for new players to be relevant.

Personaly I think the ranked queue should be removed and the rewards moved to unranked and maybe throw titles to people at the end of some season without having obvious criteria that can be meta gamed outside game.

That would make sense but I don't believe it is the case.   Unless they've recently changed things.  I believe last time I checked it's the average plus 50 or something.  Which is why everyone uses a Smurf alt to duo with if they want to climb in rank... then the guy who just went up switches out to his bad alt.  Note that the bad alts occasionally need to tank their rating by throwing match after match to get themselves low again.

I can't find it now... but have a look at the wiki... show me where it takes the highest value for the duo in ranked and the 5 man in unranked....
    https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/PvP_Matchmaking_Algorithm

I think it's a myth or it was a thing at some point but got removed or anet made a statement about it, whichever it is it doesn't take the higher rating for the duo.

    Completly agreed with you.

Druid and staff warrior are completly busted, this is beyond absurd.

They are the lowest skill cap class in this entiere game, a dog could play it by smashing his tail on the keyboard and he'll have value with it...

Lowest skill cap, lowest risk/high reward in this game. They can do everything in the same time:

side noding by bunkering like a plow, dueling everything and win extremly easy. They can roam accross the map with excellent mobility. They can teamfight. They can even "support" in some degree cause they have so much team utilitary, such has big heal, rez (hello drood elite who can legit face tank 4people while keep rezing, and get away WITH the rez!!), they have so much peel for their team mates...

They can cc you to death, while face tanking everything whithout any kind of risks. Thoses specs are legit immortal if played semi properly. And that's the pb, you don't need to be good on it to have value. They also do really good damage.

It remembers me the old celestial meta with elem, where this build could do absolutly everything without any kind of risk or choice to make.

Thoses two braindeads assisteds specs for shameless players need to be guted, nerfed to the bone.

Then why aren't you playing them if it is so easy to win with it.

  6. Main problem with GW2 PVP currently is the population, people don't want to start a kittening grind to be barely competent. New people get floored instantly without clear reason why and that happens over and over and over since everyone is lumped in Gold matches so they drop the mode. Big reason is that Anet is so kittening focused on kittening conquest that is complicated by default add build system on top and you get a disaster. You need small scale PVP with simple goal which they have with 2v2, 3v3 deathmatch but the kitten thing is a week between the kitten conquest season and a large scale PVP mode where noobness can be covered up by other people but Anet didn't add modes which they kittening had in the first game and threw all their PVP in conquest and WVW.
There is the Mechanics Creep in the game that doesn't help with retention, like most of the skills are kittening terrible to read what the kitten they do, I'm pretty sure people still don't know what the kitten most elementalist weapons and skills do, but I'm kinda sure people knew what the kitten the Warrior Staff did on the first day of release (even though they don't like to get simple slow bonked to death by it), so more simple concepts as I bonk you hurt and less you got grazed by particle shitstorm from who knows where and now you have 13 different condition icons on your bar.

GW2 PVP has the same issue as fighting games the barrier to entry is too huge and the only fun time for noobs is when they play vs other noobs which is at the release of the game if the balance and design is good enough. Since GW 2 is an MMO it doesn't get to rerelease or make a new pvp game every few years so Anet has to do something on expansions but Anet is incompetent in marketing and they have been trying the push PVP under the rug for years cause PVP toxic and "Ruins" the PG13 unicorn rainbow farts image of the game (lame as kitten by the way), and because of this new people will not even hear about the pvp in the game.

As for GW3 it will probably be some lame kitten PVE game with no clear direction that chucks new type of content every 6 to 12 months and forgets about the previous one like GW2.
Also GW3 will probably be one of those mobile/PC hybrids that NCSOFT is pushing these days.

The balance team should have involve 3rd party to at least suggest balance changes, there are numerous people streaming this game, I am not sure where would it hurt them to ask out their experience/suggestions about certain classes and builds, not saying to implement everything everyone says but somewhat consider changing things, I doubt any streamer has that much bias as CmC with Ele or whoever with Guardian

With a simple math we can sort of figure out if all 9 classes have 3 elite specs with atleast two builds it's (9*3*2) 54 builds they would need to kinda balance not including core builds, and what the balance teams has is 8 or how many people who I doubt are anywhere even close to G1 in terms of skill/knowledge about PvP

The game has a lot of potential, but surely it's going to waste if the balance team does not start to listen to the community...Which as you can guess, it probably going to happen since the whole game will collapse sooner than the balance team acknowledging that they are incapable of holding a fair balance with their knowledge

They did the 3rd party thing that is why the game sucks. The balance is based on the MAT and the one trick "pros", This is the reason the game gets all these cringe META  everything builds .

I read threads like this and wonder about all those poor rangers I murder with my reaper...

Most rangers suffer from the Ranger syndrome, they get really confused and their brain shutsdown when you counter their gimmick in some way, like doing  Death's Charge in their Rapid Fire, the thing is that most Necros suffer from Necro syndrome and they might not know how to read like Rangers so on paper Ranger "counters" necro, but if both mash their keyboard with their face its anyone's.
This is also the reason for Ranger and Necro being pretty good for climbing in ranked if you are somewhat competent, since people will suck 80% of the time on them.

Willbender is pretty much defenseless outside of F3, everything else is straight up disengage or just outdpsing people.

I don't have a problem with giving back charges to F2 in particular, and giving some QoL improvements roamers in general (not straight up buffs... just making sure they get the proper tools to do their job). This is a very support-ish meta, and roamers are being left a bit in the dust.

As long as they are not buffed that much that every queue is 4 roamers in a team, who think they carry but are actually useless and never actually gank cause they are dead 24/7.
The current one to two per team is fine and to be truthful most of the people are way more useful with tankier builds since even though most don't know what the kitten they are doing just existing as extra body that does some damage is better then being a +5 corpse that is supposed to do allot of damage maybe.

    I love 🪄

    Sidenoding 🪄

If you all don't want me to sidenode, advocate for better damage delivery, but the one constant is that I'll be annoyingly effective despite it all so pick wisely.

Pick which way you want me to play.  Either I have to take away your right to play the game because my weapons don't have good range, or I stall you to death.

I was trying to do teamfight berserker but then they made that weird change to arc divider and took the damage away again, then halved my savage instinct duration then made rampart splitter crit on glass for 1k, so it's pretty obvious they want me to once again adopt the peaceful ways 🙏

    Namaste 🙏

That one month around EoD when they buffed daggers and SpB to do damage was fun and there were no bunkers to be found cause if you sat there on the node you got shanked, till people complained that SpB was outplaying them and it got nerfed and we were back to bunkers. The fun bit was that the build was quite killable and couldn't do 1v2 that long.
Its weird getting thing in the heads of people, like Warrior did kitten all and they got used it and if does something its OP instead of thinking they got skill checked.

    Most likely they don't.

However i don't think that's a big problem, because macros don't provide that many advantages in PvP. At most they might make the game a bit easier for bad players, but a good player who is manually pressing the buttons will always be better than a macro user. Because macros are inflexible (and therefore also predictable) and being good at the game is more about pressing the right buttons at the right moment, not about pressing everything as fast as possible and the few combos that actually require fast fingers can be pulled off manually just as fine with some practise and good key binds.

Most of the mice these days use macros to even function and they come with Macro software so Anet can't do kitten about macros except balance the game around the Idea that it will be used.
I call kitten on that "PRO" players wouldn't use simple kittening macro, those kitteners have been doing all the cheats possible, used  movespeed hacks "cause it makes the game more fun", what is stopping them from kittening using their MMO mouse to bind a button to do all the combos , you can even add delay to the action and it would look like a single press is multiple clicks.

Most of the PVP "PROs"  are kitten and the best part is that they managed to kill their favourite pass time cause no one wants to play this kitten mode anymore because of all the shenanigans.

AGAIN, it's not nonsensical to have a fun trait baseline. AGAIN, I'm not arguing it shouldn't be.

AGAIN, my problem is that the justification people are using to have FH baselined is the SAME ARGUMENT to nerf it.

AGAIN, I can do this all day ... as long as you insist on not paying attention to what I'm saying to you and making up things to argue with me.

Well you insist on something that I find that doesn't make sense, you haven't given me any good reason why it is a bad Idea, I have given several why it is good idea.

Except there shouldn't BE an argument, so it's nonsense for people to argue with me in the first place. If people are going to say FH is OP so it should be baseline, they nerfing IS also a possibility there.

If your point is that FH makes warrior more fun ... OK. There are LOTS of things that can make warrior fun to ... without supporting nonsensical justifications that ALSO point out it should be nerfed.

I actually think Warrior should not have CD to Switch weapons, the Weapon master should be able to use its weapons always since Warrior doesn't do much different from the other professions and deserves something  special this or having more weapons you can equip but that can't happen since the equipment UI has to be changed.

Why is it nonsensical to have a fun trait baseline that will give me more fun if it was, by giving me more options on how to play?

    Are you the FUN Police?

    Hold on ...

First, I'm not arguing Anet shouldn't make it baseline. That's just you not paying attention to what I'm saying.

Second, if that IS my argument and it's pointless that it's OP, then there isn't any argument for making it baseline either, because it's the SAME argument

The problem is that you argue for the sake of winning an argument and also refusing to acknowledge that I fact checked your point that there isn't precedent of Anet baselining stuff.
There isn't point for me in trying to convince you of anything since you will just move the goal post or just circle back to hypothetical pointless event.

My argument is that FS makes warrior play way more fun, the point of a game is to have fun, so Anet should make the game more fun, I don't care if they nerf/buff or whatever they as long as I have fun with it.

Again, nothing here is changing the fact that if people are going to push Fast Hands into Discipline being a MUST HAVE traitline to justify FH being baseline, then it's not unreasonable to think Anet would nerf it. It's not like you win some argument with me and POOF ... suddenly Anet can't nerf FH.

No one is pushing anything, my argument is that Anet has been removing CD reduction traits and baselining it, they can nerf it to how ever they want or add it as QoL so the button pressing of the profession works better and nerf the generic do x more damage traits.

FS is already the default if Anet nerfs something if it is baseline it most probably will be the do more damage traits here and there and some coefficient on DT or something.

Tell me which is easier to calculate the already Baselined 5s switch since the builds run it already or making your life more complicated and making it 10 8 or whatever second and shaving off 10% of this burst skill or that x trait? The game already is balanced around warrior having fast hands.

Your argument is pointless since if it is that OP they would have changed it years ago.

Except this isn't about Anet 'budging' on Warrior mechanic because nothing about what is being asked for has ANYTHING to do with Warrior's mechanic. It's simply about players blatantly asking for power creep. Is Anet handling warrior badly? I see it, I don't think they do it justice ... but people have convinced themselves Anet will dump traits into baseline features of the class to fix that? That makes no sense. That would be exceptional behaviour for Anet to solve problems that way.

Here is the best part: Considering the way people are selling the FHands=baseline idea justifies NERFING that trait, the whole proposal is just dumb.

Its not Exceptional Behaviour they already removed the CD reducing traits and baselined it on all professions ( you might try to weasel out by finding this and that trait that I can't bother with looking up, but it most probably missed instead of intentional, since the plan as they stated before was reducing the variables to balancing for such cd anomalies).

There is already a precedent in the game for base lining cd reduction and by all intents and purposes Fast Hands is cd reduction trait that is already ran on all builds so there will be more options then elite spec discipline x .

There is argument that Bladesworn doesn't need to use Fast hands, but it only affects the rotation and not the output of the rigid builds you can do with it and even if you add it to the bunch its the easiest spec to balance of the bunch since its numbers are frontloaded in DT. We might see some touch up on tactics and arms if FH is baselined which they need anyway, quite frankly they need reworks.

The power creep argument is stupid , we pumping 40k dps on all builds in PVE , PVP is dead and even if someone gives a kitten,  warrior will still switch weapons on 5 seconds like now, it will actually make it more consistent.

  18. Anet should have added unstoppable mechanic long ago to some skills , like Hyper armor in Dark souls , you take damage but can't be interrupted or imobalized during the skill. Stability is wonky on stomp ,you could still get interrupted while casting it and have the stab stack after. Also the range sucks on all war Leaps, people can teleport half the map but God forbid warrior leaps 1200 range slowly.

I'm kinda pissy that they removed the drawback on the guardian gs spiny spin ngl, but also added dab telegraphs on Arc divider(bayblade rip) and Dragon Slash boost. Like kitten their double standards , why are they ruining my fun in PVE cause kitteners can't dodge in pvp.

I kinda just send out a small prayer each time I use Sword Ambush, begging it lands when I've accurately timed the attack frame to interrupt their heal... Only to have nothing happen...

It's weird cuz I think it has the same issue Reaper Shroud 2 has, but Reaper Shroud 2 at least has an AoE at the end of the attack, making it easy to just detarget and aim anyway.

    Edit:

Also in regards to Mirror Blade tracking, it's farrrr better than Magic Bullet's tracking at a slight incline.

At least Reapers Shroud 2 stopped doing that thing where you sit in one place and just spin the stick, I think they added the Ranger GS tracking to it a random patch.

My actual favourite kittened skill is axe 3 on warrior, if the guy is moving on elevation or teleports the axe goes into orbit.

What was it again... i read it in some random gamingarticle when i was having a poop....

.... NCSoft is developing something with the help of anet.....  Idc if i remember correctly... but it was Something about a Korean MMO that was planned to be released in 2017... but then completly shelved and redone.  It was originally planned to be also playable on mobile.......   they then reworked everything to be UE4... Its already available in Korea and is a huge succes.  so they are planning to release worldwide.     And Rumors say that Anet devs are also involved in this, because they have experience in handling massive ammounts of players,  megaservers... yada yada...   So there is something going on over there, that is inded pulling resources away from Guildwars.

All i know is that the Jobapplication that people were speculating about, being for GW3.... are infact not for GW3. Its for this korean MMO....

uhm..... i think it was called...   Throne and liberty...... or something....   Looked cool ngl.

Edit: yeah its throne and liberty.  I linked a video if someone wants to check it out.

Might be the Horizon MMO also, or both cause Throne of Liberty does look GW2 ish.

The thing is I fully expect NCSOFT to kitten it up and plop another Korean shovelwere garbage mobile/PC skinner box, even if the starting product is good in about a year NCSOFT will stick its kitten in it. It is amazing how the Korean Business suits are even more up in their own kitten then Western ones.
