@Smoosh.2718 said:Personally i think mounts should be locked till you finish HoT's story. That way players get to experience the content than try to skip as much as they can just to get a raptor.I agree with experiencing content but that's a bit too far. I did map completion without mounts but now I wanted to gather 60(?) zephyrite baskets for an achievement, it was so annoying on foot that I went and did first PoF mission to get a raptor. I haven't finished HoT yet.I think mounts should be locked per zone until you do zone's map completion so you actually explore instead of riding on a raptor like a madman from PoI to PoI, after that you should be able to use mounts.

the problem with renting is it acts like you're holding an item so if you switch to weapons you would need to go back to the mount merchant to get it again
it annoyed me so much in labyrinthine cliffs when gathering crystals because I wanted to switch between aspects and mount but if you pick up an aspect you lose the mount and you need to backtrack to get it again

downstate is the biggest mistake of this game

I don't understand why won't they at least give us an option to turn off other people's combat effects. Not only they lower fps but also you can't see anything, combat in gw2 is just looking at numbers, you can't see enemies or your character.
-
classes have too many weapons available anyway and it makes playing with a weapon that should be default for your class not worth it, elite specializations made it even worsethief should use double daggers because it's just renamed assassin from GW1 but DD is shit so you need to use a staff or anything other than DD to not feel like you're doing not enough damagecasters shoud use staves, scepters and focuses but no, meta is greatswords, axes and other shit

after EoD or neverif you've ever worked on a software you know that improvements that do not make profit get pushed for later all the time

@Cyninja.2954 said:Before your friend/player/etc even gets to know his character, class, the game lore, or basic game mechanics, they use the level 80 boost.
why would they have a level 80 boost at the start of the game? they would need to buy expansion first to get one
-
- huge map, make it actually feel like an expansion, not a small dlc with four new areas to explore
- better optimization, dx12 support
- option to turn off all player effects, mount models and back items
- PvP modes from GW1, we need normal 4v4 RA/TA instead of that conquest shit
- more options in character creator
- masteries that will be useful everywhere in the game world, not "learn this to be able to talk to tengu merchants in cantha"
definitely don't want:
- new race - waste of time, there are no meaningful unplayable races anyway, why would you want to play as a quaggan or tengu, and there is no place in core tyria map for another race's story, what, do you expect a retcon and Anet to suddenly add another city and 3 areas for a new race?
- new class - we have a nice set of 3 armor classes x 3 classes already, and new class would means devs would have to balace the game from scratch
- new specialization - they all feel forced, what's left to do, warrior with a focus?
- water content
- fishing and other shit that is just time wasting
-
yeah it's probably on purpose but it's stupid
-
how am I supposed to see where am I, where is the edge, where to jump?
and why are the wings rendered when I'm playing with the lowest model quality? this shit lowers fps
PLEASE LET ME TURN OFF THAT VISUAL DIARRHEA
-
I wish we could turn off mount models completely in cities, they hide npcs and other players so you can't admire fashion wars and sometimes there is so many mounts in once place that I can't even see where my character is standing.
When I play with low models settings there is still many people on mounts visible. Why not prioritise rendering people without mounts when you're playing on low? I even feel like the game prioritises rendering people with mounts over people without them.

@Dondarrion.2748 said:Time-wise you are correct, but I actually pay attention to the story line in games, and quite frankly, GW2 is not badly written. That's what I objected to, that you shrugged off story as important in MMOs and GW2's story in particular.I finished the core story recently and for me it was horrible, I had to force myself to finish it.It was so boring and had no interesting characters.

shame that everything points into the direction of having a lot of water/underwater contentswimming levels in games are always the most annoying parts and gw2 is no exception, underwater combat is cancer

@shadowfoxza.2537 said:Glad to see the game come to Steam, and look forward to seeing new players in the game.
For those of you who somehow feel that you're being ignored by Anet because you can't link your account - would you stop being entitled for a moment and consider that there might be technical issues that stop it from being a straightforward implementation? It's not like you absolutely HAVE to play via Steam and suddenly lose all your progress over the past number of years - because going by some of the comments (here and on Facebook), some people are acting like they're being told to start over.
I've got a few online games who joined Steam well after launch, so I've seen this situation happen before. Technical limitations is first on my list of probable reasons that it's not being implemented - and you never know, they might figure out a way to implement it sometime in the future.
for some people the fact that they can inflate their hours played number on steam is more important than actually playing the game

it's always funny seeing people with thousands hours of playtime in full legendary gear, unlocked elites and masteries and whatever coming to these threads to brag how easy HoT is and that they should buff mobs when average player going into HoT after core story has exotic gear, maybe half of elite spec traits unlocked (if he did 100% hero point completion) and no mounts to skip enemies (unless he decided to play the game not like developers intended and got one from PoF first).

It really does need a buff, dagger is THE thief weapon but if you want to be on par with others you need to use sword, staff, pistols or a rifle, basically anything but a dagger.
-
and we didn't get even a free repair canister
-
they probably wanted to nerf thief even more because of all the whiners but you can't nerf something that's already dead so we have a corrupted database now, thanks guys...
-
every time someone gets killed by thief he starts complaining and thief gets nerfed again because of the vocal minority and thieves have to make new builds out of the scraps they have left, then someone gets killed by thief again and the circle goes on
just git gud instead of nerfing a class you don't like
-
or just ignore mounts and explore core areas on foot like developers intended
-
the class is dead and they still nerf it
-
Please remove underwater combat and exploration completely
