  1. So some kind of summoner. Not bad idea, just I don' like too much "mesmery" vibes, but I like the general idea of an ele more on the summoner side (I know we can already have elementals and so on, just saying more on that side).

To be honest id take anything that would make my elementalist into a single element focused class thats not forced to swap elements... I just want a good dps single element mage SO BAD !

I agree, I could like something like this.

Also something more tank would be amazing for me.

  2. Technically no trinity means not having pre-established roles in a class, that means that in theory everyone can choose what to play (more damage, more support and so on) regardless of the class they are playing. Otherwise there would be only one class to play if everyone are the same just with different animations and concepts, but that would be really an omologation for me.

The wardrobe was introduced in April 2014, before that outfits were 'town clothes' and kept on a seperate set of 'equipment' slots, and armour and weapon skins were only stored on items. If you stopped playing before then or didn't convert them they might still be using the old system.

    Outfits

If you still have any of your old characters log into them and speak to an NPC called Black Lion Trader (Armorsmith) next to the Trading Post in any major city. They'll give you an option to convert any town clothes the character has equipped to the new version. You won't be able to see if they've got any equipped because that tab is gone, but if they are/were there it will still work. You'll get items in your inventory which you can double click to add the outfit to the wardrobe.

Some things will get converted to tonics instead, in which case you need to speak to the seperate Black Lion Exchange Specialist with the tonics in your inventory to convert them to outfits. This one isn't automatic, you need to find the items in their list and pick which ones you want to convert. (If you have duplicates or you don't want them any more the tonics are tradable.)

If any of them were on characters you've deleted then the only way to get them back is to ask support to help.

    Armour and weapon skins

This is relatively simple because when the wardrobe update happened these were converted automatically, and that still works. (Reskinned items will add both their current skin and the one for the item the stats came from.)

The bad news is the conversion only happens when you log into the character and only if you still have the items. Before the wardrobe skins were not saved anywhere except on the items using them, if you deleted an item or the character holding it then it was lost, even if it was a gem store skin or a rare one or whatever. Likewise if you applied a skin to an item then changed it without first using a transmutation splitter to get that skin back you'd lose it. So it's possible you lost some or all of those skins, either when deleting characters or before the wardrobe was added.

The best thing to do now is log into all your characters to unlock any skins they currently have, and check for items in your bank which might have skins you want to unlock too (bear in mind this will bind items to your account so they're not tradable, if you're holding something to sell don't unlock the skin). If you want to unlock it without equipping them you can right click and pick 'unlock in wardrobe' from the list of options.

If you've lost any of them support might be able to help, but if they were lost 8 years ago there might not be any way for them to confirm you had it to get it back, I'm not sure how far back their records go. The best thing to do is ask and then cooperate with whatever they ask you, even if it seems like pointless trivia like the name of the character/s you deleted or the date and time you did it - that will help them find the logs so they can restore the items.

Wow, thank you so much really!

I will check what you said even if I think I did when I first came back 🙂 I sent a ticket to anet let's see what they'll say... but I'm really starting to think I deleted these things with one character I had that time, but if it's like this it's ok, at least they will confirm it and I will know it for sure hehe. Thanks again ^^

Yea if was that long ago before wardrobe system you would have lost it.

You had to login to add all your skins after the wardrobe system got implemented.

why did you delete your characters 8 years ago?

I don't even remember hehe well I didn't deleted all my characters and I always had some "bank characters" and one of my doubt is if at some point I deleted one of these char with some of these skins and outfit in the bags without realizing they were there.

Wardrobe, bank storage and inventory all have a search bar at the top to easier find stuff. Did you try typing "aether" in all of them?

You could also create an API key on the official homepage and use a site like https://gw2efficiency.com/ to search your account.

If none of this helps and you're still sure something is missing from your account, you can always file a support ticket (bottom of this page under services -> support) and see if something can be done for you (no guarantee, but asking nicely never hurt).

    Good luck.

Yes I checked my account and nothing 😞 idk if after 8 years if I remember correctly, but I remember I had them. Again, maybe at that time skins and outfit were not something you unlocked accountwide and I'm afraid I deleted them with a character, but anyway, I think I will ask them with a ticket and see if it is like this and if something can be done, at least I know hehe thank you very much!

  6. I do screenshots of the sliders too and I have all my characters appearance saved like this, but then if I want to create a character with that appearance I have to window the game, open the screenshot to see a slider, see where it is more or less (since there are not numbers or things like that in the slider bars to understand exactly where the slider is), then come back in the game, try to put the slider at the same spot and do like this for each sliders and so on.

  7. Hello!

I searched in the forum but I didn't find this topic, just found something  about armor skin. So, I would like to ask if it's possible to implement this, something to save appearance of a character so if maybe you create one and want to make it again because you don't like the profession or something like that but you want the same look, you can simply use a saved character appearance template, so you don't have to remember all the face details sliders and things like that. I don't know if it's heavy to implement and it's not very worthy, so I'm asking here, ty.

  8. Hello everyone, I have a question/ I need a confirmation of something I think happened.

So, I came back in the game after years and I remember I had some armor skins and outfit (like aetherblade armor skin, fancy winter outfit and so on) and some of that I don't find in my account wardrobe. Of course I'm talking about 8 years ago, so, since I don't remember well, I thought is it possible that at that time outfit and skins were not account unlocked but they were something you kept in characters bags and so maybe if I had that things in a character I deleted they disappeared?

if it's like that, there is no way to have that things back, right? (it's ok if not, but I prefer to ask, you never know hehe).

    Thank you ^^

I assume you don't mean an xp booster that boosts crafting xp, but an instant booster. I know that SWTOR has that part of their instant level 70+ boosts that you get crafting disciplines with it, though you can't pick which ones. You get a fixed set depending on which class you choose iirc.

Of course having an instant crafting boost to max level could mean that sales probably would increase because that's probably a big annoyance taken away. On the other hand, you can only make money with crafting via the TP as long as not too many people do it. So you may not want to sell this separately. But then again, the cost of the level 80 boost is pretty prohibitive so adding this to the level 80 boost package, should cause a cost increase. But if it's part of the level 80 boost package itself, then you'll have a lot of people complaining about boosts they got before that didn't have a crafting boost.

So yeah...what would you suggest if they did add an instant crafting boost? How would you want them to sell this?

No no, since that post was making it so easy and fast with tomes for leveling etc, I was just asking if there was something like that for crafting as well (not polemics, I was really asking). It doesn't mean I think it could be a good or bad idea, just asking.

    congratulations, you're now a charr!

I agree and understand it's not technically possible to change race and so on, but in this list you forgot crafting, I personally craft a lot and I have craftings at 500 I'd like to keep in an hypothetical situation like this, so I ask, is there something like a booster for crafting?

  11. First of all I came back in the game after years too, lots of things you have to remember and lots of new things you need to "learn", so just give yourself time to settle in again.

For the elite weapon skills, as Cyninja said, you need to go in your traits panel and select druid as one of the 3 traits.

If you don't like the story the maps can be unlocked also exploring, you can use the wiki if you need, and there is a lot to explore and lots of events and stuff like that you can dive into. Again, it's normal to be confused at first, ask here or also ingame if you need, players will help 🙂

I open them and salvage them. With the raw materials I make the ascended crafting materials (the ones you can make 1 a day) and I buy marks in drizzlewood coast (which eventually turn into clovers).

And ofc the rares you loot turn into ecto, that still sells for some gold a stack. It has lost a lot of value, but you still get like 10s+ per rare or so (just from the ectos).

The unidentified gear pieces are actually the main loot from my POV, aside from the daily chest from a meta.

Agree, for me they are useful to gain materials for crafting (especially clothes and leathers for armors) cause I craft a lot. So everything depends on what you like to do in game.

  13. Hello, I was reading Prismatium Ingot wiki page and it says there are 2 recipes (even if they are the same if you click) with different quantity ingredients, does anyone know how to tell the difference? How you choose to craft one instead of the other one since the original recipe is the same?

I thought it could depend if you craft it as an armor crafter or a weapon crafter, but before buying another recipe I would like to unserstand how it works if someone knows, thank you.

    EDIT:

Sorry, only now I found a post like this one. I'm so sorry, this can be deleted 😞

Guys I'm sorry it's my fault. As an avid power mirage player who is forever in search of a new class I made the mistake of falling in love with hammer catalyst and even making the jormag hammer because I found a new favorite power prof.

I'm sorry I brought the nerf hammer with me, they follow me everywhere. 1st it was og warrior. Then it was og power zerker, then it was power mirage and now....finally power catalyst.

I give up. May as well play the golden child guardian, the single most boring class in the entire higgby game!

To be clear I did play it before the "buffs"

I will admit I don't notice a huge difference post nerf. Then again I'm perfectly min maxed for a WvW build I came up with. I doubt I'm running the same as pve raiders.

Hehe hope this post is ironic XD because we play what we like to have fun (and btw so far I didn't notice a great difference too).

I personally would like them to revamp the core areas and perhaps make a new story mode for new characters on next expansion. Let the old story be selectable like the living stories and have the default just pick up in the current time and let the new players play the new core tyria with the old players. With the way they gave raptor to everyone it shouldn't be that much of a problem and the playerbase is pretty kind so new players won't have too much of a hard time keeping up.

This would also allow for a new race to be implemented rather easily since they could just go without adding all the previous dialogue, just have them be a seer race or something watching the life of "the commander" through some mystic race ability and while you look different you just choose a diff races VA for those parts. Have it be part of the new races choose your story or something.

Content wise I'd just like them to focus on revamping the core professions and weapons, so many have fell out and I'd like some usability, give me my conjure weapon elementalist pls.

Edit: OH also fix revenants broken core story lmao. So many parts you just gotta auto since your energy system breaks in multiple parts of the core story.

I like this idea of a new story for new characters if you want and let the old story be like a living world or something 🙂 Also for a possible new race I'd like largos and I think they could fit what you said (also, since they are linked to the sea, maybe after what happened in EoD something could have changed for them)

tbh no real reason to play dps cata once again...  (atleast for me)

was able to bench ~39k on golem pre patch on cata

    37k on BttH weaver

    37.5k on condi weaver

now with the update i only reach 36k on golem so BttH weaver is outdpssing cata by 1k (for me)

that being said, on actual boss encounters you'll struggle alot more to get a high efficiency on cata, so i'll probably outdps it on pweaver by 3-4k+

so for me (and i guess the average ele player) catalyst is more effort and has less CC and terrible access to it. Only advantages of playing power cata is the small amount of passive healing and condi cleanse you get from crashing font and cleansing typhoon.

qcata has the same problem, benching around 26k on golem now, but that's with minimal room for error on quickness, so it gets outclassed by most other quick builds

only good thing about this nerf is that hammer is a slighty less overtuned weapon compared to its competitors. unfortunately that says more about the state of the other weapons and the lack of synergy between catalyst and any weapon besides hammer.

    P.S. i don't understand how a fcking piano 46k is a problem, but a 45k thief that presses 4 skills is totally fine >.<

I agree (except for the "no real reason to play dps cata once again... " at least for me hehe but I understand).

So, for me it's not a huuuge problem and I mean that I will still play cata dps and have fun, but!

I tend to agree with people saying that with thief it is always like ok and normal if they do 100000000000k and be like "aahahah the thief... what an adorable brat! *___* ", and with ele it's like the most terrible injustice ever, call the inquisition and so on xD Nothing against thief, in fact I think thief and ele share a lot, they are the two classes with the lowest base health for example.

So I think it could be ok if both these professions do a great amount of dps, since playing these classes almost everytime in combat it's something like "in 2 seconds you could kill or die".

But anyway, again, I will keep playing it (also because it's my main) and enjoy playing it!.... I never did 40k with golem anyway 😛

  17. I agree, most of my character are basically all brothers/family/stuff like this.

Mini with char appearance is ok, but maybe also something like in gw1 can be done, where you can have one character of your account in your party when you are in an istance, of course here it could be done in a rp context/istance (for example, I said yesterday I'd love something like a public instance for rp players).

    Hello everyone!

As someone who truly loves roleplaying and creating a story for my characters, I find it really sad to see how little GW2 offers in terms of RP community and RP in general.
First of, with the Mega Server thing it's -very- hard to find RP out in the world. I am a 'roamer' so to speak and I love approaching RPs if I see them going on, but lately that's not a thing, or ... well...rarely a thing.
I feel Roleplay makes the world feel very alive, as you see people moving around and giving Tyria a breath of life.
Now then! I had a few ideas (not sure if anyone else posted those, if yes I apologize for any duplicate posts).

    Character sheet:
Similar to what Total Roleplay 3 Addon in WoW offers, imagine if ANet implemented a more detailed character sheet where we have control over our character's history, age, description (not tied to in-game story that we currently have), character theme (used from a variety of GW2 tunes), IC and OOC information that we want to put as in:
    IC - "Seeking for treasure."
OOC - "Approachable, attackable, muggable etc"
Trinkets that our character could carry, items of interest, gems etc.
All that with ability for other players to be able to view that in-game and gain more insight into your character.

    Postures:
Taking this from FF14 and ESO, I thought it would be great if we could change our character's posture. Sometimes I get tired looking at the Charr constantly swish their tails and look hunched, or male humans standing in that generic posture with blergh idle animations. Imagine being able to change the posture by either affecting it from the Hero panel, or by typing /posture1 etc.
Postures could essentially affect running animation too, example being for Charr - not running on all fours.

    Roleplay Tag:
This in particular would be a neat feature to add. You could opt in and opt out of it depending on what you'd like to do, like IC/OOC status. Wearing RP tag could put you in a special phase of the server where all RPers would be, so anyone who wants to RP would be there without affecting others and vice versa.

Anyone else have any ideas to add?

I agree, I would love to do rp but I'm alone without guild etc so it would be nice if the game itself or with something done by anet could implement something like, I don't know,  a public istance or maybe just a chat where we can all do rp with others.

As a Guardian main, yes! I'm not fond of heavy armor in general, most of the sets look like tin cans. The older ones are especially bulky and have ugly textures.

I'd like to see more armor skins that look like medium/light armor. More cloth/leather materials and less metallic stuff, please.

I agree!! That's why my guardian wears outfits 😁 but I'd like heavy armor new skins like you said.

I agree with you on that part. What a missed opportunity. It is the main reason I found playing through EoD boring. There was no depth to the populace of Cantha -- just all ugly technology and equally ugly colors in flora and architecture, with the exception of Echovald, where I truly enjoyed the two mini dungeons.

I don't agree with you on the story being lackluster, though. This was the only part worth playing this expansion for me. Yes, characters could be annoying at times, but a lot of the story missions were well designed in my opinion. I also had fun with the story fights, including the DE meta.

However, due to the enviroment, whose design I mostly disliked, and the lack of an interesting culture (i.e., the aforementioned lack of depth), I don't enjoy returning to Cantha very often now that I have farmed all the currency I needed. The only thing I truly enjoy doing repeatedly are the Strike Missions.

I have to agree with some points of this post. It's just a personal thing of course... the colors in flora were ok form me hehe but didn't like all the technology thing (just my feeling of course) and I found overall cantha people and social dynamics a bit flat in characterization. Not agaist anet, just saying my feeling about it, ok? Don't want to be rude, I'm happy of cantha expansion also because in gw1 it was my favourite place to go...but I have to be honest, it's not like that this time. But that's ok, you can't please everyone ^^ and of course there are things that I liked.
