Isnt it just better to run a VM for development and keep it clean on the Windows, and have GW2 there?

Hey guys, Im studying web dev and want to get a laptop to install Linux on,want to get gw2 on it though Im fairly reluctant from what I read so far. Mostly interested in PvP content, and I would love to hear anyone who runs it on Linux as well - whats the current state for the support in 2020?Major FPS drops? Is it Playable in PvP scenarios?
