  1. Uh... yeah it's not. It was a joke referencing something he said regarding anatomy that is in no way connected to any religion at all.
  2. The only link I can make to Shapiro from Firebands is them coming from Elonia, the driest climate of Tyria, free of the devil's moisture.
  3. Well yes but no. I haven't leveled up that far yet but I have read the wiki entry. I understand the purpose behind the firebrands, but I'm more asking if post-Path of Fire, would it be believable that one didn't return to their original purpose as Roni Gehianu said was their end goal. But instead decided to continue recording and uncovering stories elsewhere.
  4. Hello! New to the lore and RP community here. Actually sort of new to the game overall, I started a while back, stopped when I realized GW1 was still running, played through that for a long while, now I'm back here. ANYWAY. I made an Elonian guardian, and I'd like some info on firebrands. I know skill-wise in terms of actual gameplay they focus on Elonian history and stories, which is fine, because my guy is Elonian, it works well. But what is the general thought or consensus regarding them branching out? Would a firebrand feasibly move on to Cantha and record more history there when the time comes? Or would they return to their original duties now that Elona is free?
  5. Hm. See this is an... "interesting" take to me, as someone who recently got very into Guild Wars. I was drawn in by the story. The setting, characters, concepts, plots. I got all three novels, I played through GW1 for more background on this game. I love the story, it's the main reason I'm here. I enjoy the gameplay, but it was the storytelling that caught my interest.
  6. You guys are all so helpful in this community, I love it. Thank you for all this info, I'm doing my homework now!
  7. This is not only helpful, but fantastic news! Thanks, I appreciate it!
  8. Thank you so much for replying! I do have access to elite specs, and this does look something like that I was thinking! Essentially where my mind is: I'm not necessarily going for the meta, the cutting edge, the top 1%, but I do want to be able to get into group content without a ton of trouble. Would doing fractals and raids be possible on this, from a "people not laughing me out of the group" perspective? In your opinion.
  9. So first off, I'm a very indecisive, finnicky person and apologize in advance. I'm also relatively new. Basically, I've been having a HORRIBLE time finding a build I want and creating and sticking with a main. I play solo a lot, but I'd like a build that won't get me laughed out of group content. Something that can bring some group support/utility when I'm with others. After trying to follow meta for a while, I realized I was going to eventually go insane attempting to do that, because nothing I WANT to play is necessarily "meta". What I would really love is a charr engineer. What I need help with? Making an engineer into my ideal playstyle. I'd like something that can handle solo content fairly well, and is condition damage. Pistols look very fun for engineer, so I'm wanting to do that. I also would like to be able to provide boons, utility or MAYBE some healing to folks who need it, when I find myself with companions, either in PvE or out in the world. I'm not a hardcore player, and likely won't be looking to break any world records. Pug stuff, mostly. Can someone help me create what it is I'm going for here? Is it possible? Near possible? Put my wretched mind at ease... I beg you.
  10. Hey all! So I'm really drawn the class fantasy of a dual-pistol or staff wielding rogue kinda character, so naturally I'd like to play thief. However I've been told they're very difficult to play, I think because of their HP? At least that's what I've gleaned from conversations. Can someone give me some advice on playing a thief and eventually daredevil, as a newcomer? Thanks cuties.
  11. Hello! I just downloaded GW2, you're welcome, got the PoF ultimate edition, looks super fun. Joking aside, I'm sort of at a loss as to what profession to roll. Spellbreaker looks fun, the fantasy of being a whirling, dagger-wielding magic-destroyer is very appealing to me. I'm also looking at the renegade advanced class or whatever it's called for revenant. I'd like to play a class that's not terrible, but I'm not super obsessive about meta stuff either. Anyone have some suggestions? And reasons why? I'm all ears.
