Yeah, I've taken an alt through now and could complete the story on that character, but my main is still stuck... It's getting ridiculous that this is still a bug. I mean, they could have just made it something you had to craft or buy in the first place, maybe make the get a free one an optional step or something... Honestly, the whole thing feels shoddy, and every time we just keep hoping the issue will get fixed, and than it doesn't... Not enough people having the issue probably... The fact that they say that restarting the chapter solves the issue, while that gets you forever stuck on this step without a workaround proves they aren't even aware of the full problem, despite many people telling them.

This is untrue. Kamilla will STILL try to give you the motivation and you get stuck on the step 'Take the motivation from Kamilla'.

Patch notes from yesterday: No, you didn't. I'm still stuck on 'Take the motivation from Kamilla'. I tried restarting the story step AGAIN, but no dice. I mean, how very nice thay you added a fishing hole to a random POI. Don't you think things like this have a little more priority?

@Lautz.1973 I have the same issue. I opened a ticket, but the reponse was to just 'Keep an eye on the forums'. Yes, the same forums that have had this issue as a known issue for weeks, without a solution. I've started over with another character, but with crap like this, I'm starting to thing that eleven years might just be long enough of playing a single game. Typical case of: 🌻🌻🌻🌈No-one at Anet cares!🌈🌻🌻🌻

So I was on story step 8, and I know I talked to Rian and Kamilla, but didn't progress further than that, and I wasn't really paying attention, because I was having a conversation with someone else. They were doing the meta in the first map, and I still needed one of the achievements for that, so I switched story chapters, seeing as I was at the beginning of chapter 8 still. Did the achievement, and stopped playing. A few days later I restarted chapter 8. Now I'm stuck on 'Take the motivation from Kamilla'. She won't give me a motivation. I have no idea what happened to the one I supposedly got the first time around. I might have double clicked it after the meta thinking it was a container? No idea. I tried buying a new one, but no dice, as I'm not stuck on USING it, but stuck on receiving it. So far no solution. I can't finish the story. Anet doesn't seem to care. Great game this.

Ok, so I'm not stuck on having to USE the motivation, I'm stuck on the step 'Take the motivation from Kamilla'. I can't. I have no idea on how to take the motivation from her. I can't interact with her. I tried buying the motivation on the AH, but it won't progress the story. How is one supposed to TAKE the motivation from her?

I have found that the trick to logging in is to login to https://account.arena.net first before logging in to the support site. Otherwise it keeps looping you.

insert string of cursewords Arenanet, did you just change the English language to suit your needs? You DO realize that 'to salvage' means 'to rescue', right? You salvage usable parts from an item. SO WHEN YOU PUT IN A DESCRIPTION '100% chance of salvaging upgrades' THIS MEANS THAT YOU SALVAGE UPGRADES FROM THE ITEM! SO YOU RESCUE THEM FROM THE ITEM! IT DOES NOT MEAN THE UPGRADE IS DESTROYED 100% OF THE TIME! So either change the description of the 'Runecrafter's Salvage-o-Matic' to say '100% chance of salvaging parts from upgrades', or make it so that the upgrades are always salvaged (rescued) from the item you use it on.

Ok, I found out the issue. It's the wrong gate!

It's not the map completion, but getting to the mastery point underneath the final Drakkar room. I've now tried about 15 times since I specced the right mastery, and still I cannot get down there. This is getting ridiculous!
