  1. The issue is the matchmaking. Anet Prioritizes short queue times over quality matchups. This leads to a team filled with different types of players. So ppl who try hard are placed in the same teams as people who are playing for the first time. Was watching a streamer yesterday who was top 20 on the leaderboard. He had a necro teammate who was just auto-attacking staff 1. He might've been a bot but he was around 1200 rated; 500 rating below the streamer. Ppl like that should never be in the same games as top 20 players.
  2. Placements are bad since ppl are treated unevenly by them. Everyone will be pulled towards the 1200 mark. And due to the very broad matchmaking, everyone will be playing with everyone. Depending on your class and if you duo or not this will lead to uncarryable games. Since the first few matches you play are key to your placement; getting "unlucky" during those games means you will sink hard. The only way to maneuver around it is to play duo where both players are playing high dmg/burst roamers (holo, thief, zerker rev). Where you and your duo just run around and burst ppl down. Since half of the teams will be filled with 1000-1400 ppl who will just flop playign a duo like this will lead to snowballing of most matches you're in. If you like to play support, sidenoder, teamfight brawler you're out of luck. This isn't as effective for placements. If you cant roam across the entire map and kill literally everyone you can still lose. This is a screen of my results during a lost match. I held and killed 2-3 ppl at far solo pretty much the entire game. https://imgur.com/DjmWSLm
  3. Horrible change. What i love about GW2 is the diversity that conquest brings when compared to wow 3v3 arena. The extra short CD mobility, the added options the terrain give you, the rotations that dramatically impact the game, etc. The 3v3 in GW2 however is a worse version of wows 3v3. With this change, they make 3v3 and 5v5 equal in terms of duration. Just makes it less enjoyable to play GW2. So ppl who are on the fence between GW2 and wow ...will pick wow due to this change.
  4. Exactly. That's what I've been saying for a while. If you're new or below average you should not play unranked. The games are literally always a mixed bag of players between bronze and high plat. Where the good players typically try out fun to play 1 shot builds "since its unrated anyway". So while you are trying to figure the game out they are running around mowing down you and your team.
  5. So what's the idea behind top stats? The idea was to not have people blindly staring at stats. Comparing stats might lead to toxic behavior. So instead they added top stats to reward the guys who did exceptionally while avoiding any discussion about people who underperformed. Sounds good in theory. The reality is that in people's heads you either have top stats or....did no damage, kills, healing at all. And there is no way (within the game) to prove them wrong. So while this idea tried to prevent toxic behavior, it did the direct opposite. This is literally a discussion/statement made by players after every (lost) game. Meanwhile, there is no way for people who are trying to learn to compare their stats with others who play a comparable prof / role. Please anet...show all stats. :)
