They aren't volatile magic. In skywatch they're static charges, (I haven been to amnytas yet, so I don't know if it's in both) a new currency.

Confirmed, read both, no progress. Finished story instance, did not get achievement.

Can confirm, the workaround that Rubi posted in the other thread worked for me

Same here, I can type in my password, but as soon as I click any button, I can't interact with the launcher anymore. I tried the close button without putting in my password & it doesn't work either, so all clickable things make it so I have to close the launcher from the start bar or task manager. If it helps, I'm on windows 7.

Another reason why purchases of gems are taxed vs no tax in some other games may be that gems are not (insert country currency). There's no tax on say, adding funds to your steam wallet, because it's just moving the same type of currency from one place to another; but gems don't even translate 1:1 to cents (in the US at least) so they're treated as digital goods by tax laws. Being in WA state I've always had to pay sales tax on gems, since Anet is based in the same state.
