  1. The 64-client is smooth on Sierra, no problems at all anymore! Like Menadena said: I also wouldn't recommend playing on a Mini and/or minimum specs. It's good if you're on the road, but at home, look for an upgrade or at least a breakout-box for an eGPU.
  2. Ok, so next to a weird bug.Performance wise: is it safe 'n sound to update to High Sierra? :)
  3. Enyo. Guess the ticket is the way to go for.Sounds less like a mac-issue, rather then some account-cards-whatsoever.So the support-team will get back to you, we here can't help you in this issue the way the support can. :)
  4. Hey folks, like to ask about High Sierra As Menadena pointed out that 10.14 is already on the horizon.I'm still holding back from 10.13 not solely because of GW2, but it's one of the main reasons indeed. Patch notes suggested that HS is now supported, but I'm reading mixed results about HS, so what's the latest news on that and especially performance issues, compared to Sierra 10.12 (which is running quite fine in 1440p on a beefy iMac btw)? thx :)
  5. 25€ or 30$ for 1 skin, you can hardly call that ‚microtransactions‘ anymore. That’s the same amount they charged entry level of expansion packs. Really not cool. Oh and can we pls stop comparing to other publishers, who are way more stupid in exploiting their players anyway?!For example: just because WoW is sucking their players dry, doesn’t mean that a) it’s ok and b) the fact that other publisher follow along this path, makes it a good practice in the first place.
  6. Hey folks... Just a thought – and it gets a lil complicated to get out just a single thought in a MEGA thread like this, but anyways: A lotta folks are stating: 'Hey, how do they make any money if they can't sell Lootboxes and stuff?!"Well, there was this concept once – I know, I know... old times and stuff – by BUYING a game, and the 1st EXPANSION, and the 2nd EXPANSION, and the 3rd EXPANSION ... and on top of that, do some enthusiast like me any many others of you, the PREMIUM/DELUXE/FAN-EDITIONs of these kits. THAT'S how you make a living out of something.Sell stuff and good service.I never seen my fridge company offering me any extra RNG >>> pls insert the swearword of your liking <<<, because otherwise they were starving to death! And I'm not gonna clap and cheer to any company who doesn't sell on this subscription-model nowadays, because it's >>> pls insert the swearword of your liking <<< in the first place and they should not drench the pockets outta small companies and home-users by giving them no choice, hence forcing them into the system. Which makes it look effective and successful, but is indifferent to some meth-dealer that fuels his customers to get going, and going, and going on. // ok, there is a but, like always it's grey rather then complete B&W:As a fan I'm ok with getting this action figure, or a shirt, or whatnot. Or a skin for my char. And paying for it, because it took extra time and effort to make those, too. What I'm not ok with is having diversity ONLY spread by paying extra (as in the new mount-skins) and no rewards for high level playing or support over the years and through the woods. You SHOULD get some cool stuff, if you've succeed in the hardest raid, you should get something if you've lived through the whole story and living world. Namely for example: Keys for the Lootboxes, those cool skins for amor, weapons, mounts etc., that otherwise you have to pay for, if you don't wanna make the effort of playing through the whole game. This is a concept I'm fine with. What's happening now, I'm not!
  7. YES! That's the point. DO NOT BUY THIS WORTHLESS >>> pls insert the swearword of your choice <<<! Who is exploited by the money-makers in the games industry? WE as gamers. We put the money in. So just don't put the money in and let them starve on their shareholder value. So WE can STOP it!
  8. One more thing to add... Guildwars, as any other games which is fully priced (Vanilla + 1st expansion + 2nd expansion + ... ) and in fact really every game, should respect the players. We make the game a game. If nobody would play it, it would only be a lovely piece of art. Beautiful to look at, but useless. A lovely song, never heard. We're not THE artist, but we're the society that fills the world with live and diversity and thru the style-option and customising, we – to some degree – are the ones who make this game worth playing. Other ppl love the things we do, get attracted and buy the game, too. And fill the world with even more diversity and fun. Fun doesn't pay the artists and coders, but nobody said it should be for free, aye?! And here's my point to add:It's ok that there are Legys in the game wich should be hard to get. That you can only get by playing PvP, or WvW, or Raids, or Fracs. That you need weeks to craft, like a real carpenter or blacksmith. I like that. The price is debatable and ANet should really look into some numbers from the gold-market, skewed by some odd and shady gold/item farms, but it's a system that is fair. Play hard, earn hard! If I struck down a God or Dragon, I should be rewarded as a hero of Tyria (or whatever world you live in ^^). If I came out living from a dungeon, my character should get a dinner with the Queen or King, which I saved another day sitting on their throne ... I guess you get my point by now, do you? ;) Those players and hardcore fans, who bought every special edition, who played thru every achievement, wo do raids and long time battles, who indeed make this game worth playing and inspiring for others some times (thru YouTube and rankings and what not), the guilds... all this makes GW an awesome game that respects the players, or at least, did. It was a game I fell in love with, after a long long time, because I found it really did honour the roots of RPG & gaming. It was made by ppl with passion and love for the game... but the ale got stale lately, to be honest. So what's the path ANet, what do you choose to do with the players?Exploit us more, or with all your love for games and gaming and pop culture, will correct the path and steer into a decent direction, which doesn't do what other mayor MMOs and AAA-title did?
  9. The thing is: the games-industrie became an industry, which led to more ppl working in it, more artist & designers came into games, hence it all flourished and we had fun. So when we look at other fields (housing, textile etc.) what followed was: ppl got the trick how to make money. What happens if ppl got the trick? They want more. And this is what happened to the games-industry, ppl stepped into the field with no love for games and/or players, only for damn numbers and with an eye on the shareholders. We as gamers can't change this over night, since we were sometimes lured into this and got caught, but we have the power to do so over time. Same with the subscription-based gaming! Shall we now applaud to every game that doesn't fall into this awful exploit of gamers?!No! We should avoid those games (and programs, which is maybe hard if you're forced to work with certain progs in some industries, but can be done) and not give them what they want: cash! It's money, REAL money they want and this is the mechanic on what they operate in this raid, so the solution is simple, hard maybe, but simple:JUST DON'T GIVE THEM OUR MONEY ANYMORE! Only pay for what's worth paying! As I stated in my own post: good games, good work, deserve good payment. Nobody want's a chair for 2,59€ that's ugly and broken after a month of sitting on it, so we pay a door carpenter to make us a good chair. That's the underlying mechanism the games-industry and in fact every industry should be operating on. The article from KOTAKU that circulated yesterday is a really good read on how the games-industry managed to exploit our human nature 'to be different' and squeeze the money out of it. Loot-Boxes & RNG exploit: https://kotaku.com/loot-boxes-are-designed-to-exploit-us-1819457592 thx
  10. Developing is great, GW2 with all the content and links to other fields in gaming and pop-culture – seen Pumba and friends from the Lion King?! ^^This is marketing. Ringing the cash-bell as loud as it gets! And it's NOT optional as explained in the opening post. For those of us who like to custom and to get a lil extra and support the Devs, it's cash-milking.
  11. Moin @ANet and all you out there Really, you've made some awesome mount-skins there ANet, ty. Some aren't to my liking, but so is 'linking something' anyway, isn't it?This is cool, you've introduced mounts, you made the awesome new PoF and I'm one of those fans who really likes to get the lil 'extra', special edition with a collectible for my shelf. And here it starts – or ends – well, it's up to you ANet if you wanna go down the WoW path of squeezing the fans and milk them till they look like an old mummy from Jokos Army. I'd really love to buy a skin, maybe two or three, because some are really mad designs (star-shiny-sprinkly-fire somethings anyone? yeah, everybody likes such things).Good and special designs take work countless hours, I know that, because I am a designer myself. But stepping into the Loot-Box gamble thingy. Nope. 400 Gems, thats 5€ in EU for a RANDOM skin?9600 Gems, which is 120€ for all – because I need to buy this package, because maybe it's the last one to get which I favour.Otherwise 12.000 Gems for a gambling with the 400-Option, well, because since I may have drowned already 2000 Gems, I'm not gonna buy the 9600-Option, I'll need to gamble on like a junkie, chasing the machines in some shady Las Vegas casino. GW separates itself from the others by listening to the players & not squeezing them every month for playing. So developing needs time, money etc., so I'm ok with giving a lil extra in the Gem-Shop. Because it's extra and fun and I'm supporting you developers (to make more of the cool stuff).Anyhow... but by upping the price & generating the 'I REALLY WANT THAT THINGY' effect... that's really not ok. Really ANet? This is how you wanna go on?! sincerly, Kronos Dunstklinge
