  1. The latter is what Path of Exile does, I image most of the games I mentioned do this. You'll see a "Validating files" or some such step before the download begins and then the download will rocket along as fast as your internet/the server can handle with it finally beginning the patching process when the download of all data completes. Guild Wars 2 seems to be checking one file, determining if it can be differentially patched or need a complete replacement, downloads the relevant data, patches the file and then moves on to the next file to repeat the process, a process that is waaaaaaay slower than it needs to be.
  2. That sounds like an incredibly bad way to handle downloads if it results in sub 1MB/s speed with the game on an SSD. Meanwhile Path of Exile, Diablo III, Everything on Steam/GOG, etc. download at high speed. I tried the command you mentioned and it yielded no improvement: "G:\Guild Wars 2\Gw2-64.exe" -patchconnections 24 Also every other service manages to show total download size and/or estimated time to completion, even Torrents manage this and they explicitly deal with downloading individual files separately across multiple connections.
  3. - I temporarily boosted my internet connection from 100/20 Mbps to 250/25 Mbps. - I rapidly download Genshin Impact at 30MB/s, demonstrating the internet connection had been boosted. It rook around 40 minutes to download 80GB. - I Struggle to get more than 1MB/s when updating Guild Wars 2. Based on how slowly the progress bar is filling up it feels like it's going to take *days* to update 109,000 files of which any of them could be any data size (Launcher *still* doesn't adequately inform you of how long a download will take, "files" is a useless metric when it comes to indicating download progress).
  4. Interesting, if this is what I was failing to do than that's likely because of the quest marker being placed directly behind the same kind of door structure that opens the first time you place an Orb in a receptacle. This, the lack of a cutscene and the previous bugs I've been encountering in story chapters mislead me.
  5. During my first playthrough of this content, I interacted with a magical structure that spawns an enemy to defeat in order to get a key to place on a sparkly location. I placed the key on the sparkly location while enemies were nearby and the cutscene to show a door opening never played, rendering me unable to progress further because this prevented the door from opening.
  6. During my first playthrough of this content I approached the ship with Tom and got a quest update to clear the area of enemies, however no enemies spawned. I had to restart the content and the enemies then spawned without issue.
  7. During my first playthrough of this content the NPC named Tom blew up the 2nd tower as expected but then stood beside the tower and refused to budge, possibly a result of aggravating a HP regenerating enemy behind the tower that also refused to move/attack (bug persisted after killing that enemy). The rest of the NPC's followed me correctly to the 3rd tower (and back to Tom) but without Tom the quest would not progress. 2nd attempt at the content did not exhibit this problem. A 2nd NPC got stuck at the 3rd tower when I circled back to try and fix Tom. During my 2nd attempt at the content no NPC got stuck.
  8. Now that it's been a few years since I last made this request... time to make it again I guess? please update the Launcher to indicate how long an update will take and how much data is needed to be downloaded (handy for those with limited download quota's as well as those who want to plan their life around the time it takes to update). The displayed information does not help: https://imgur.com/a/LbqGDrG Also move the Minimize and Close buttons to the left of the fancy artwork on the Launcher so that they are significantly easier to identify/find.
