@Rubi Bayer.8493 Thank you for replying.  Could you elaborate on how this bug could be seemingly ignored for over 2 years.  It is a pretty obvious effect and it seems incredible that Anet could have been ignorant of its existence not just in the immediate aftermath of its implementation when many more eyes would have been on major new systems but for the long years that followed.

Was there any care or concern about taking away a feature with such a long history and such a potent effect on open world play that players had reasonably come to count on to help with tougher mobs, build diversity and physical / mental disabilities?

PS.  Those leaving Confused ratings.  Please do let me know what part of this is confusing to you and I can attempt to clarify my questions.

My guess is it's the same reason they fixed the skyscale "bug" where you couldn't dismount while in air; which we now know why they were looking at it; was because of Sota.

So probably the next expansion will have something to do with the jade tech bot

  2. I didn't even realize it gave you stats other than boons; and now it's even more useless. The original saving grace was it gave access to quickness to a lot of builds/professions. Which when running around getting HPs for a new character it was actually pretty useful.

Once every 90s just as well be once every 90 years. There's a lot of profession skills where the cooldown is so absurd you'd see a bigger dps increase if it just provided +5 power / condi damage.

It was roughly around 2000 candy corn that would generate 24 hours of XP booster with the old candy corn gobbler.  Now that takes 6000 with the new one.  I think where it messed up is that it didn't take in account for the cost of candy corn per use, or something that was related in 3's, because it takes 3 times the amount to reach the same number of stacked booster timer.

That wouldn't surprise me; they had the same issue when they introduce auto-research; where if the recipe produce more than 1 item you'd only get notes as if it produced one.

  4. Sword offhand is ok; but that's because most of our offhand weapons are average at best.
Sword main hand; movement is nice; but dmg is still too low; you'd be better off even using axe.

Flip over skills are clunky to use because you can't precast them and by the time it flops over your halfway through your autoattack chain and you only have like 2 seconds to figure out if you want to use it or not.

  5. I recently had to burn through about 800 tomes that i saved from WvW just for spirit shards. Don't forget the daily login rewards also gave 10 tomes every 28 days; so WV still doesn't cover the 3 you used to get every day; along with all the writs of exp you used to get from dailies that added up.

They even nerfed bauble farm when EoD came out so you can't even use that to get shards anymore.

  6. The problem with trying to add a traited lifesteal to signet activation is that you're giving up the passive for a tiny heal.
All signets except locus are single target (wonder if they even thought about Signet of Undeath that only hits a single allie) and unless the lifesteal is some absurd number; you'll probably get more healing from just a single sword auto attack chain.

I think the only way to salvage Signets of suffering is if the lifesteal was on any skill; like Superior Sigil of Blood. Or if it was a passive like Signet of Vampirism where each signet would give you more lifesteal/second. Otherwise since you're using the Spite specialization; Awaken the Pain is just better for power builds.

If you need healing and bool removal, dagger 3+2 is better in basically every way compared to running signets of suffering and 2 signets. And then you even get lifeforce. Now granted most of our utility skills are pretty situational anyways; I'd still take a pet over almost any of the signets 4 of out 5 times.

  7. As a necro main; couple of notes:

    1.  Health sacrifice budget needs to be recalculated entirely; not sure if they replaced a comma with a decimal or what but if I'm sacrificing 3K health i better be doing minimum 10k-15k strike damage; not 3k.
    2. Sword after cast needs to go. even with quickness a full auto attack chain still takes 1.6 seconds. 2.3 seconds without quickness.
    3. The final swing should not be the slowest because then it's too easy to cancel the final attack
    4. All the flip skills feel terrible to use they should be insta-cast (off GCD) like shouts or just remove them entirely.
    5. Where's the lifeforce gain?
    6. 4/Hungering maelstrom: 1 second cast time?
    7. 5/Devouring Visage: 5k health for a fear? Also range should be like 2k so you have time to figure out if you want to recall it or not. Or make it like GS #5 on guardian where they have like 10 seconds to actually use the flip skill

So I did today my 4th convergece (running them all in public, first two ere on the same day, first one failes, second succeeded, first 3 were all against Sorrow), and this was also first one that spawned Demon Knight, the difference in difficulty between those two encounters is staggering. Sorrow is flat out brutal (and annoying to fight with all the launching and forced movement) while Demon Knight is a walk in a park in comparision.

That being said, I still have no idea how the participation chest is being calculated, the payout on the failed run, was much higher than the tiny bits I am getting from successful (now 3 runs).
The overal payouts are mind boggling tho, after those 4 convergences, I have got 2 purified kryptis essences, and just 31 short of 1st tier essences to craft another 3 - if my ectoplasm stockpile was capable of keeping up with it. This is going much faster then what people were estimating with rifts when it comes to scale of progress towards obsydian armor. For reference that is nearly all essences needed for full set of one stage of armor unlocks.

There are additional factors to bear in mind that are impacting that situation that needs bearing in mind: 1. I did not finish the new mastery yet, so in theory there is buff to payouts that I do not have yet, but also since I am starting from nothing, there is also a number of achievement payouts that are meddling with my experience, since once I get through all of them, the general payouts can and will probbably drop.

Agreed: the knight's meteor's are pancakes compared to Sorrow's bounce house.

And if sorrow runs into the water it's basically a guaranteed loss since essences seem to stop dropping then. I don't remember if it was out of the water when it hit the next 10% mark or not but zojja was basically doa when she teleported to his next position.

  9. Only thing i don't really like is the amount of time it takes to complete them. I was in a pretty stacked group and there were probably only 10 deaths total throughout the entire run; but it still took over 25 minutes to complete it. If it only took 10-15 it would be a lot more palatable.

Chasing the demon at the end is kinda pointless other than to waste even more time and potentially give you a chance to fail if no one can get to him fast enough to save z.

  10. IF anet doesn't lose a quarter (which knowing them and counting i wouldn't put it past them) you're losing about 20 coins and 11 clovers a year.
365/28=>13 loyalty chests => 260 coins and 91 clovers vs 240 coins and 80 clovers.

This "quarter" is probably a good time to speculate on mystic coins because after 5-6 weeks the supply will start to run pretty dry.

You ""lost"" 80 now (60 here), but you're getting 80 more than you did during every subsequent week from now on. So... tbh, whatever 🤷‍♂️

Someone mentioned that the daily login reward 4/4 chest only gives 20aa now; instead of 30 (we'll see in 30 minutes after reset). So it's basically a wash

  12. I could do the old (better) daily's in less than 10 minutes between ley line and gang wars (and also finish pact supply network along the way).

Now i have to skip gang wars because more times than not I have to go way out of my way to finish the unpleasant chores. If my shard wasn't grouped with maguuma this month i'd have a real hard time finishing kill 3 players every day in WvW.

And getting EotM tasks is just a slap on the face since that map doesn't even give pips.

They need to give us more than 3 (soon to hopefully be atleast 4) options and just switch it to give you AA for the first 3 you complete. Super simple in the old design where you get a chest for each tier you complete (it's almost like the old programmers knew what they were doing back in the day).

It would have been nice to have elaborated about the relic changes.  'Not all of the rune effects will be made into relics,' is very different from actually saying that none of the summoning effects, or stat conversion effects will transition to relics.  It wasn't a few odd individual effects that didn't make the cut, it was all of specific types of effects.

No kitten; the same thing with the daily login rewards. It took an entire uproar of people to complain about broken content for them to realize that 3 mandatory objectives without any choice was a bad idea. And even then they are only going to give you a single extra choice...

    Core and Expansion Relics
Guild Wars 2: Secrets of the Obscure will release with forty core relics and twelve expansion relics. Core relics, which have effects inspired by many of the current rune sets, will be available to all players regardless of expansion ownership. Additional core relics will be added over time as part of our ongoing commitment to improving our core game features; our overarching goal is to offer more viable choices despite fewer overall options.

They do say overtime we should get more core relics; but based on "which have effects inspired by many of the current rune sets"; I have a feeling they are going to be pretty lack luster. Also it sounds like there aren't any plans to have even as many relics as we had rune sets; ever.

The question is, how do they plan on reimbursing for the lost points and gold? It's not a lot, but it's a big deal, for people, who are making effort, into staying on top of dailies and weeklies.

support ticket; and make sure you get everything, not just the 10aa but also the 30aa and gold from the daily.

edit: also 10 ap and luck

Just realized (and so adding this to this thread as well) that we don't get spirit shards anymore from dailies. So we lose out on 90 or so spirit shards a month that isn't made up for anywhere else. I would like to see them added back into the daily completion chest or purchasable from the Wizards Vault. I know some ToK can be bought, but nowhere near the equivalent.

Yeah i noticed that as well; i was hoping they maybe were in the weekly chest but i forgot to look before i claimed it and you can't see what was in it after it's been claimed(WTF).
Daily 3 spirit shards and bauble week (before it was gutted when Eod launched) were about the only ways I actually got spirit shards.

No one wants to run around with boosters trying to slay monsters in an empty map hoping for that extra reward xp just to get a few shards. This isn't PoE/D4.
