  1. I could see this as an Elite Spec trade-off. Where Druid has their pet's stats reduced to grant the player more raw value, the Untamed could have more of their raw value put into the pet if they wanted it to be the pet spec. Imagine that +25% dmg passive gave your pet +50% raw dmg or all stats or something instead. Though yeah it could probably end up frustrating if the pet ended up dealing the most of your damage and it still struggled to do so because of clunky pet skills and AI.
  2. After playing a lot of hunter and druid in WoW ahd seeing how much cooler professions like Guardian or Thief are compared to their counterparts in other games, I was very hyped about the Ranger and its elite specs. And oh boy, I think I have way too many things to say about the state of the Ranger in GW2. Their core mechanic, pets and pet management, could benefit from some improvements. Pet-focused playstyle of Beastmastery and Untamed traitlines (and maybe some weapons?) could have more to do with the pet than just giving it some boons and condis. Active pet skills do that to an extent but there's nothing about the synergy of you and your pet striking as one and in the end it all plays like a clunky piano with a lot of unnecessary micro management. On the other hand, there's not much to do for those who appreciate the 'Lone Wolf' playstyle. Soulbeast does it to an extent, but the fantasy of eating your pet with its skills (and regularly merging/unmerging with it in some game modes and rotations) is not exactly what it means to run completely on your own. I believe this is the least possible thing to change since the pet interactions (as unfulfilling as they are) are such a core part of Ranger mechanics. Maybe some sort of Spiritualist elite spec that doesn't have a corporeal pet on their side at all times and summons spiritual attacks with F skills akin to Renegade or Scourge? (Spoiler: Spirit Beasts are cool!) The whole system of taming and customizing pets feels somehow behind WoW which is really weird because GW2 is such an improvement in almost everything else. Being forced to pick pet skin / color for gameplay purposes because each color has its own set of abilities is sort of counter-intuitive, especially for such a fashion-heavy game. Why not make all pets of a certain family to share their skills and give them a mini talent tree to pick the exact abilities from? Not to mention the balance issues that make most of pets useless in most game modes. It seems like pets like Smokescale, Iboga, Rock Gazelle are mandatory in PvP or PvE, while other unique and iconic pets like Sylvan hounds are absolutely unviable. I don't have anything against cool 'prestige' pets, WoW did a good job with Exotic pets available only to Beast Mastery spec, and the whole Spirit Beast family which was used to be a very prestigious rare tame. I'd love to see something like that in GW2. Legendary pets anybody? 😄 Talking Legendaries... Some weapon skills do feel outdated or just weird. Torch skills are a joke while Warhorn 5 for example seems to do everything in 1 button press. Axe skills barely make sense, especially offhand, and I don't see why Axe 5 is still so wildly imbalanced that it's either oneshot or nothing... on a skill with a 'Defence' in its name. It also favors fighting in melee range along with many other weapons, which is strange for a Profession that is literally called "Ranger." Of course there are other weird weapons on other Professions, but Ranger honestly stands out for me. Now, the Druid. First, do we really need a heavy Support-focused spec when we have Specters, Mechanists, Firebrands, Scourges that can build both for healing, boon support and DPS? I know at least one MMO where druid is one of the most versatile classes, and that MMO isn't even good anymore! Maybe Astral form could have some more DPS skills baseline? Maybe you could change it with Druid traits? Talking Astral form, why does it have to be like a Necro Shroud but worse in every way? What's up with having to top the Astral juice to 100% to be able to use it? As a healer, you don't have typical 'build & spend' rotation. You need to access your healing skills on demand when your group is in trouble. I won't even get started on Untamed. I barely played it in its current state because of how all over the place it is. I believe there's been enough of fair criticism already. tl;dr - Add more meaningful pet interaction for Pet-focused rangers. Share Pet skills within Pet families for more flexibility and customization. - Balance pets so more than 5 of 50+ are viable. Exotic and rare pets are a good idea to consider. - Tend to Weapon skills. Some are strangely balanced. Some are just old and boring design. A lot of them favor melee instead of ranged. - Druid feels very clunky and outdated as a support-only spec with a crappy shroud mechanic. Some DPS and other options in its traits would be awesome. - Soulbeast does not fulfill the Lone Wolf playstyle. A spec that would toss both pets into the spirit realm to summon their F skills sounds as a slightly better idea.
  3. Been there. Done that. Joined at least 2 squads today (or was it 1 squad with different commanders at times). We did try everything to spawn that event, and in addition to that, I believe we've also tried our luck with every other Purist event and every other Purist enemy on the map. Considering how rare successful cases are, there must be something off about this.
  4. I'm here to report about the same issue as well. I need only the wreckage site collection item but keep looting greys. Tried more than 10 times in combination with nearby events and after the meta event (considering other piecess were tied to events sometimes). Tried on different characters, too. Was one of the first collections I've started on the expansion, and it's still 1 step from being complete. Can't wait for the fix 🙂
