    Already covered it in another thread too: Sword/Sword is just TOO WEAK right now. The only way to make it work is to use Devastation + Vindicator Death Drop to cover its gaps in damage/boost its damage. Herald right now only functions as a Boon injector trait/spec for the Revenant but Renegade does that much better and much easier via just critically attacking enemies. Plus Renegade is just better with the Fervor unique buff that cannot be corrupted AND bonuses to SB's bleed application. 

    So yea in general, Herald is food. I personally eat Power Heralds on the regular, and I'm running Core Celestial. 

    Cele is an easy and fast way out, success with cele builds nothing but ego. I know plenty of power revenants that just wipe the floor with cele builds or at least turn it into a permanent stalemate. The difference between cele and power mains is that cele can do a ton of misplays and still have a significant chance of winning, while with power, one mistake may lead to failure.

    It's an overbloated stats combination, and yet there are lots of cases where it simply fails to contribute. Besides, some classes will always have better hybrid builds than others, so eventually you'll hit the wall regardless. Sadly, it will probably stay on WvW forever, considering what kind of direction it has taken recently.

    Right now everyone just invulns or blocks sword 3, sword 5 is unreliable, and sword 4 is so slow they use a movement ability to avoid it. 

     

    They should just start with changing sword 3 to instant cast 900 range and see what kind of effect it has

    You trade off a shadowstep that ignores Y axis. Incredible tool for chasing down people and escaping. I can't remember every time I shadowstepped out of kill hungry raids.
    Not sure about Sword 5 2nd attack being unreliable though. I do have scenarios when people simply walk out of it, but it never got to the point that I wanted to throw my screen out in the window like S3 xD

  3. Something that permaCCs or spams AoEs that corrupt boons or apply a bunch of debilitating conditions would be great. Basically, Rev's own variation of dumbing down the game 🙂
    Or maybe something with smoke fields or stealth?

  4. Power herald roamer...sounds more like free food for 90% of popular roaming specs nowadays.

    And you are not wrong, it's lacking some damage. It's great as +1 spec, similarly to spvp, but it is just too vulnerable currently. Running zerk with rolling mists sounds like a good way to make things count. Durability runes should, in theory, make you less glassy too.

    Are you going to run double swords with staff or SB + staff? Double Swords + GS? (full aggro mode kekw)

    A good thief can't lose, it will just rotate stealth until it manages to land burst or steal (depending on your class, essence sap from rev is kind of stupid strong), and it's not every day that you will meet a thief of that caliber. Harbringers are everywhere, however, and they don't require nearly as much skill. But yeah, stealth is just broken, it is what it is.


    Mesmer pistol + dagger is overloaded, but it has the same weaknesses as harb with the only difference being that it can simply walk away easier.

    I know noone likes Willbender nowadays, but all those OMG ONESHOT DMG Willbenders I met were so squishy. Get some unblockables and dodges?
    Cele Windi is annoying, but in my opinion Vindi/Rene cele bow is worse.

    Catalyst has some meme specs that can oneshot squishy people, but otherwise I almost never see them anymore. Not saying that ele main/one trick isn't a PITA to fight though, but why do something on ele that can be done with 10 times less effort on a different class nowadays...

    And what about Scrapper? Nades again?

    Looks like the game got super toxic in WvW lately.

     

    Oh that's just their understanding of dueling, given what their comms post on these forums. They do really love the idea of necro master spec, so they bring 49 NPCs with them when they want to duel somebody.

    EDIT: What skill do Harbringer have that lift one in the air as that happened once while fighting.

    Harbringer is that type of dumbed down broken, braindead spec that requires very little and gives way too much, but they do have one weakness  - they hate reflects. Trying to outcleanse all Harb's condi burst is usually a thankless task.


    I really hate people playing that spec, just as much as I hate permadaze spam from Mesmer dagger, but I learnt to counter both successfully. Worst case scenario nowadays: they'll just try to walk away.

    This fits the tier of dumb, delusional and ARROGANT kitten I used to read on both Deso discord and team chat and I am surprised that YOU spat it out. Absolutely clueless, as any bag farming NPC is.

Did a group of boonball guilds write a letter petitioning the removal of any obstacles to their dominance? Did a dev (probably on Mag side) get killed while trying to take a keep? Or is this really a patch from an alternate reality to ours?

    By the way, if you want to "encourage players to fight players" why not update the sPvP gamemode? I hear it could use some love...

    I wonder if their bosses are even aware that the job their employees are doing is pretty bad and contradicts reality.
    In both MUs I was in, there was a big imbalance between the populations of the servers, and as a result, my server had to fight outnumbered every time against organized raids that were twice as big. There was a time we were simply camped at spawn for two days.

    UPD Heard they hired a person from the community for balance recently. So far they appear pretty biased.

    The issue is, it's been around EoD and nothing has been done about it, so they are probably okay with what it is. Since why "It's a mesmer".
    Kinda forgot it was EoD and not SoTO, since it's such half-arsed expansion. My bad

    Last time I checked Reapers didn't like their swords (they still got harbringer), warriror's staff sucks and didn't fix anything and revenant's scepter is just pure kittening trash.

    And then we got thief axe, mace ranger and mesmer permadaze stuff as if mesmers didn't have enough spammable and instant CC already. So definitely not all of them.

    Everything goes according to their plan. They want each class to be able to accomplish everything at the same time. It's just that they can't spread it the idea across all elite specs yet.

    As long as it will lose some of it's power potential in the process I guess. It's kinda kitten the way it is now on Cele builds. (wvw perspective)

    Edit:There are people fighting below and west of the camp,and this seems like typical rubber banding problems.

    Tends to happen more often near a spawn/waypoint when people massively waypoint In.

    I had occasions where ISP got a bottleneck somewhere and my character ended up zipping around and throwing skills in odd spots and seen graphic glitches on my character through another person screen.

    But hey if he is pulling this consistently then just right click and report.

    Man, you really are trying hard to twist out and justify it somehow not going to lie.

    It's been happening for around an hour. A bunch of people spoke about him in team chat and it's not the first time I encountered him on that border. I booted up OBS just to record him as a matter of fact. He's also used https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Fiery_Leap  on two downstated rangers before this.

    It is absolutely baffling that you've completely ignored the fact that he simply dissappeared after his hp reached 0% too.

I had it enough with abusing stealth mechanics in other MMOs, so I chose it over thief many years ago, and I am not one of those who jumps on the bandwagon for a class or build that is currently busted, even though multiclassing in this game is easy. It is probably not a bad class for raids and PvE, but I find all of that so dreadfully boring nowadays and would be better off finding amusement somewhere else in real life, so I am lacking competence in regards to PvE.
