  1. It's been nearly a month since I gave my first impression and I have (to my amazement) gotten quite far in the storyline and on the map. One thing I want to say is that it feels like I'm playing the game BACKWARDS. Everything just got easier and it was near impossible for me to begin with. The first few missions were so horrible, I had to do them over and over again to succeed. Getting to and unlocking the mastery points for the mounts was a pain, as it was all trial and error (oops... I don't have the required prerequisites... sigh....). The missions seems to be getting easier as well. It's very very odd.
  2. Update: All right, so about a week or so ago, I finally managed to complete this challenge after just 2 or 3 tries. I assume the game devs fixed it, because before, I consistently tried it over 40 times and I had absolutely no success.
  3. Most frustrating thing ever! I took lots of time to familiarize myself with all the ingredients. I must have done this over 40 times, but the whole thing is majorly bugged. I'd rather be doing something else. 1) The timing for gathering each ingredient is short and it doesn't help that I have to wait for the stupid chef to run around and finally stand still (my timer is still ticking while the chef is logy-gagging ). 2) A lot of times, the next ingredient he asks for is on the other side of the freaking room and there isn't enough time for me to fetch it and throw it back to him that far while he's NOT busy running. 3) On top of that, I have to make sure nothing is obstructing my throw or else it registers as the wrong ingredient. 4) Even grabbing the right ingredient sometimes registers as the wrong ingredient, and for that, I have to go grab it and throw it again, thus further running out of time. I'm extremely disappointed with the sheer amount of comments on this forum making normal players feel dumb and lazy. Fan-boys and testers who have the luxury of time to repeatedly fiddle around with one bugged activity dozens and dozens of hours on end till they get it, need to stay out of this conversation. It's a game, it's not a full-time job and people invest in it hoping to have some fun at the end of the day.
  4. I would not even bother playing this game with any other profession than my necromancer, which has a high survivability rate. I have trouble staying alive as it is in the instanced story. The gated mastery system makes me want to smash my computer to pieces. It is a frustrating experience to go crazy looking for accessible mastery points that don't require higher mastery points than I already have to acquire more mastery points to basically progress through the story or any map. I haven't even unlocked the springer mount (trying to find one more mastery point to unlock the canyon jumping feature). Very annoying to not be able to progress through the game and desperately search the map over and over and over again only to find out that there's no way to reach the mastery point because I need masteries in other things in order to reach the mastery point. Don't get me wrong, romping through the desert on a raptor is tons of fun and the storyline has improved dramatically, but the whole gated mastery system makes me wanna break out in hives. I am not sure I want to continue. I've done the pot of soup mastery challenge over 20 times and it's majorly bugged... it seems to be my only hope of acquiring one extra mastery point. Unless Anet offers me some light at the end of the tunnel, I'm sorry, this is too frustrating. Reminds me of HOT, which I gave up on. When things are tedious instead of fun, I'd rather be doing something else. I will not consider buying a future expansion.
