I want to share actual August '22 experiences :D
I have done the patrol event many times (without koda trial mark) and nothing happened. Then my map was closing so I got on another map. Again I went to all three patrol event locations. On two spots, the event was bugged. It was shown on the map but there were no enemies, so I had to wait until the time ran out and hoped it will spawn later again. So my tactic was just to do the three patrol events as often as I could in hope that the koda trial event will spawn at some time.
So after the two bugged patrols failed, the koda trial event popped out in aberrant forest. And from this on all worked. I killed the patrol and stomped the essences until the bar was full. I had help from another player, I dont know if the time to stomp is enough to do it solo.
Then I got the achievement. After that I could blow the horn. And I want to say something to that horn because when people talked about the horn here I didnt know what they mean. So after the stomping a big horn appears a few steps away from the koda trial event. And you can interact with it to blow it. This will summon a champion you can kill. I didn't kill it because I completed the achievement after stomping the essences.
I hope this helps a litte and I hope you can complete this really bad achievement aswell.
