  1. Yeah, so having seen it all now, I have to say that these can no longer be called expansions in the traditional sense. These are absolutely living world seasons, and they should just own that. Sell them for cash or make them purchasable with gems, but don't market them as expansions—it just feels disingenuous.

  2. Only tangentially related to the OP, but I feel like the #1 goal for Anet in this expansion was to ensure they could release one update per quarter, no excuses. If the content is perceived as lacking, they'll work on it, but that is secondary to maintaining their release schedule.

Note: Feel free to type here but the only people I will respond to are devs.

There is zero chance they respond to you.

Where is Flameseeker? Where is Rodgert? The latter is the one weapon I need to complete everything...

So you have everything you want but that last thing and you act like this?  Dude, get a grip.  Just finish it and put yourself in a happier place.

  4. While the complaint seems trivial, it's not a bad suggestion.  I mean, why not drain 200g per out of the economy with a bunch if icons?  Seems pretty easy for them to do.  We all get to choose the mascot we like as our tag.

  5. Long time player here, but I never understood why sometimes when in squad (tagging or not) there will be a small popup that shows when someone tries to join allowing me to cancel it.  Why does it show, and why only sometimes?

    Thanks!

They are limited to three armor pieces and one weapon per cycle (i.e., every three months). You are nowhere near done.

Well, they are half way done.  🙂

You are right though, I forgot it was every quarter instead of every week.  Still, I stand by my statement that it has never been easier to get ascended gear.

    This affects many players.

It's sad and embarrassing that devs do not address this.

Idk how something as fundamental as the player-camera turning can be kept in this state for so long.
Even the fix provided by the Unofficial Extras Arc plugin no longer works. At this point, I might aswell quit the game and spend my money elsewhere.

Just had this happen to me.  Very annoying.

  8. "I remain confident in ANET. But magumma is likely their peak of excellence"

I'm curious about what specifically instills confidence in ArenaNet for you. For many, myself included, there's a distressing lack of faith in the current team. Take, for instance, the bug in the "Broken Hero Challenge - Searing Cauldron," which has become a progression blocker for some players and remains unfixed for nearly a week. While we often joke about ArenaNet leaving bugs unresolved for years, there are moments when it feels like more than just a lack of QA testing—almost like a sense of apathy.

These incidents contribute to the growing skepticism about the team's ability to deliver timely fixes and maintain the quality of the game.

Soo essences. That's it. Put those in the wallet and I'm good . . .

I'm with you, I'd prefer wallet but material storage is okay too.  It makes no sense that they weren't in there from the beginning.  We'll chalk this one up to the 'oh yeah, forgot about those', right alongside forgetting about the Legendary Runes.

Do you ever get the sense that SoTo was made by people that are new to Anet or haven't played GW2 very much?

  10. Core Tyria felt much bigger and expansive to me compared to HoT, and I ended up quitting after about a month of playing it, despite having invested around $1k into the game since its release. Even the thought of wasting the money couldn't compel me to continue with that expansion at the time.

Today, I find enjoyment in the metas, probably because they keep the game feeling alive and active. I'll engage in map completion when necessary for legendaries. However, I believe HoT suffered from poor balancing, which led to the departure of certain player groups. To illustrate this point, last year my wife started playing the game for the first time. She finished the core story and then moved on to HoT, only to quit shortly thereafter.

  11. I completely share your sentiment. It's glaringly obvious that ArenaNet falls short on testing their daily and weekly activities adequately.

What's even more worrisome is their apparent delay in addressing these bugs once they're identified. This raises questions about their priorities and whether resources are being diverted to potential future projects like Guild Wars 3, leaving the current player base to deal with unresolved issues.

It's crucial for ArenaNet to reevaluate how they allocate testing and development resources to better serve the needs of their live game. Unless, of course, their intention is to demonstrate to us that Guild Wars 3 is necessary because of the persistent bugs in Guild Wars 2.

I played wow and FF at the same time.

I think the point is, would you play WoW and WoW 2 or FF14 and FF14 2 at the same time?   Most people would not.  What is to happen to the GW2 player base if there is a GW3?   Once GW2 players start to migrate to GW3, it is really difficult to imagine GW2 thriving.   Maybe they'll do server merges and one or two servers will have a healthy population.  Only time will tell.
