  1. As others mentioned thief sounds like right up ypur alley. Daredevil with staff does exactly what you are looking for, but other specs can play like that.As someone who does not appreciate thief gameplay much, I would highly suggest looking into sword weaver. It plays a bit like the dagger version, but takes it up a notch. I think weaver sword is one of the best designed weapons in the game. It offers good burst damage, leaps, evades, heals, some CC. More skills with dual attunement, interesting synergy with weaver spec and you can go slightly more defensive while still doing more damage than core dagger builds. It is pretty much as squishy as the core version, one tiny mistake and you are downed. But it has a lot of tools to hanle most situtaions.A recent update also allows weapon swaps (out of combat) for elementalist, making scepter more accessible for punishing melee encounters.Sword weaver is great on both power and condi versions. The condi one allows for tankier builds while still doing good dps and decent enough burn damage (burning can be the the main damage condi). Now I want to play my weaver again :)
  2. When I first started with elementalist I loved the flashy skills but was dying a lot. I tried guardian and found out that playing elementalist is a bit of a "hard mode": you need to work much harder to get pretty much the same results (dps, surviving, support). That eventually led to me dropping guardian and not touching it for about 5 years. Now that I tried it again things are different.Dragonhunter is even more stale than I remember. Gather up mobs, spear them, drop trap and symbol and spin to kill anything up to elite (and even elites melt with that combo). I will admit the damage numbers with this combo are addicting, and the only other spec coming close is a reaper. Then I tried firebrand and it's a whole different thing. You keep most of the combo (minus the traps), so the numbers are still pretty - but you add a metric ton of boons and support, and things become more flexible. Suddenly there is more to do if you feel like it - quickness, protection, stability that you can also share, along with aegis. Used right you are sturdier and make your party stronger. It is not as complex as weaver can be, but firebrand in either condi, power or heal versions is very dynamic to play. Give it a try :)
  3. I would suggest taking viper stats (as you already decided) and tormenting runes. While it will hurt your dps a bit compared to fully efficient raid build, the runes allow you crazy sustain, since mirage applies a decent amount of torment. For open world tormenting runes make you more durable than the rabid/undead combo. With axe/torch you deal very good damage while healing from torment applications (the more mobs the better, the aoe of this is very nice). With staff you can stand back in relative safety and let your clones tank, while still doing ok damage and healing a bit from torment. This setup can solo almost anything in open world. With the inherent mirage evades, along with sustain from runes of tormenting you will rarely get downed. And it usually means you made a mistake :) Edit: those runes are some of the most expensive in the game. Be ready to shell 50-60 gold for a set. That is the only downside I see to them.
  4. Are trailblazer stats enough sustain to, for example, solo champs? It has high mitigation and hp buffer, but no healing power for sustain. I guess weaver has decent access to water fields and blast finishers. In theory you can also do it with viper stats, but you have to know the encounter very well for that. Can't happen every time :)
  5. I have no expectations of doing meta/raid level dps. I will also lack quickness/alaracity which makes up for a huge dps loss, especially for a buff-dependant rotation like weaver. Also other buff uptimes plummet with this build without taking arcane traitline. Will probably also replace elite with an elemental, as they tank and can also heal if needed. I am basically looking for a certain balance between defense and offense, something I feel I get automatically with the condi mirage's normal function. Would you also suggest using scepter as normal weapon and switching to sword when I know melee is not a problem? Or perhaps sword as default and scepter/summoned ranged weapon if needed?
  6. Hello everyone! Tl;drLooking for a condi weaver open world build that will be sturdy enough to take on unknown content without relying on downstate dps. I want to go back to my weaver, which I switched from in favor of a mirage. I really fell in love with the weaver after PoF came out, and loved the hybrid/condi version of it with sword. My only beef was the lack of flexibility in range. Some mobs punish hard for melee, and the fact you cannot switch mid-combat reduces the flexibility of the class for me. Since then I got spoiled by the tankyness, utility and mobility of condi mirage - even with full viper gear and almost no defenaive traits. Most of the time the mirage mirror (esecially with tormenting runes) would allow you to stay toe-to-toe, and switch to staff/scepter to kill from range once you are out of tricks, while clones distract the mobs. I remember before on weaver being decent enough to keep myself alive with fire/arcane/weaver, mostly offensive traits and some rabid (mostly viper) gear to not drop instantly. After all the buffs and changes I wonder if there is any build you would suggest to solo content. I know most things can be done solo once you know the encounter and class enough, but I am looking for a general build that would also be sturdy enough to take on unknowns. I know a mix of fire (dps), earth (def and dps) and arcane (utility) traitlines all fit with condi, but I have to pick two and they can all be used, depending on build. And on that note - how much of the damage is power responsible for? Do I take a massive hit to dps/burst by switching, say, viper to trailblazer? Thanks in advance!
  7. Or he might have had a really bad day, took it out on you because you were a target of opportunity and then felt bad about it and tried to apologize. When you did not respond he felt worse and tried harder, not wanting to stay on bad terms. One report for toxicity will usually not get a person banned (and it would be safe to assume by the time you were gone, you already reported him).Without more details anything could be the truth, and sometimes we are all having bad days.
