You seem to weaponizing the term monetization.  We don't pay $200 a year on subs and expansion you pay in other AAA mmorpg and therefore its good that things are desirable in the gemstone and I would fully expect and look forward to desirable things to allow me to get something nice in return for my investment, like build templates, new shiny housing items etc etc

Hardly. Just describing things the way they have been in the past on this forum and everything is also relative to base. I agree with your assessment and I'm glad you have this thought process but there are many others who don't, don't have reasonable expectations of if this system got implemented, and do not hold your same, very level-headed, energy.

I find that argument disingenuous. You compare it to mounts but that's really a tiny part of what the gemstore has on offer. I think you underestimate how many decorations you need to make in order for housing to be successful.

Now I'm sure there will be a fair amount of items in the gemstore but I also expect that they will put a lot of them into crafting, achievements and loot. It will keep people playing and give a new impulse to older and newer maps.

I agree several things would be craft-able, or earned via some in game method, but when I think about heavy monetization of housing its less about the decorations for me and more about everything else. If you look at the idea of build templates we ended up with that broken down into a handful of monetizable elements. Equipment, build, and storage. There is no doubt in my mind housing would end up the same way. So not just the decorations themselves that will end up in the store but things like house location unlocks for fancier local, more space than the "basic" house, fancier houses than the "basic" house (think wood vs stone vs jade), and of course decorations.

Also look at EoD. Several of the key features added have options for additional monetization. Skiffs, Jade Bots, and fishing rods all have options.

While I would very much like to be proven wrong I personally would feel naive if I didn't expect to see something similar purely based on track record and Anet being a business at the end of the day. I would expect some sort of integration with the WV but how much I am not sure.

But those 2000 players also want those 187,500 items each.

Do they? Is there a reason you're assuming everyone wants to craft the item? Some people just don't. Shaman's point is valid to a degree. The fact the item is on the TP means someone doesn't have a use for it and is willing to sell it. The fact it's price isn't dirt means that someone does and is willing to pay for it.

As has been stated many things are designed to drive then economy and not be completely done yourself. Sure you have the option of doing everything on your own. But, as you've figured out, sometimes that's the long way of doing it.

I am still having a hard time thinking why they haven't released Tengu.

Because its clearly not as straight forward as everyone who are vastly oversimplifying the problem are making out. Its not as easy as "simply", "basically", or "just do half of x/y/z" of something. Even if they could it would mean not doing something else which could have better returns. I'd bet money that Anet has done an RoI assessment on this and, since we haven't seen it yet, its clearly not worth doing right now.

scrap it and make longbow or offhand sword.

Just because the weapon would be something else doesn't automatically mean it would be better.

As I said before (in a thread I can't find)

Because it got locked as it became repetitive as everything that really needs to be said was said in a very small set of posts, much like this thread so far, but it devolved and "ran it course", much like this threads future.

Correct. People who started the game 11 years ago have items that people who just started this year can't get.

I'm not sure why people act like they're entitled to special rewards without having actually met the conditions for those rewards.

Because to some the game is fundamentally broken the second there is something that they want that they, for whatever the reason may be, can't get and thus needs to be fixed.

Anet lack of Transparent Communication with The Community should also blamed by NcSoft? That NcSoft has so much control 'holding Anet purse' that they control what Anet should say or do with the game and to the playerbase?  It sound like a Toxic relationship

You are telling me that, we The Community should feel bad for Anet of taking advantage of The Community Trust and Faith in them including their mistreatment of the direction of the game toward the player experiences and ignoring our concerns for a Healthy Competitive Experience and ignoring our feelings, just because NcSoft did it to them first?

So Anet should not be held Accountable for anything?

    Am I getting this right?

Andy do things the community have asked for all the time. They aren't ignoring the community, they are ignoring you. It's easy to see why. " Fire everyone", " redesign the entire game", "why are you doing something I don't like?! Can't believe you hate all your players..."

Your posts are overwhelmingly sensational, offer no actual constructive feedback, are incredibly trollish, and do nothing to really further discussions besides pad the post count.

I started by noting that it's overtuned.  Was that not good enough for you?  You asked what the difference was. I answered.

The need to read a post in full is trumped by the need to be angry at something. It's easier to cut-quote a post to fit the narrative and attempt to discredit someone that read it in full, understand it's nuance and respond.

On the whole nothing you stated is really incorrect. The number of cVirt I've seen game mode wide pales in comparison to the number of pMech at it's peak.

They seem to have avoided giving any profession a second instance of a weapon they already have.

On top of that, I have some theories about why thief is getting axe mainhand, and why offhand sword specifically might not be a priority.

I would say mostly due to the number of skill granted  due to the dual skill mechanic on thief and how they have gotten flack each elite spec release when a class has gotten only an offhand.

How about hiring me as a dev as well? I'll start removing things on my first day training.

First day training on the job:

Immediately: Remove all Toxic Trash that has been piling up for 11 years and throughout the years including Toxic Control Effects like Pull, Stun, Knockback, Blind, Immobile, Cripple, Launch, Steal, Mechanics: Stealth Mechanic, Profession: Willbender, Deadeye, Specter.

The only immediate thing that would happen would be your pull request being denied and your position within the company being revoked due to your inability to follow the tickets you've been assigned as they would likely be things you personally disagree with. Your job wouldn't be to make decisions, thankfully.
