  1. I wouldn't. I like picking exactly what I want. What if I bought 4 random chances (800 gems - around the price of a glider skin) and I still didn't get a skin I wanted? What if they were all ugly (to me)? Or if they were all for mounts I didn't use regularly? No, I would rather just spend 700 gems for 1 skin that I choose. I won't buy mount skins at all any other way. id prefer that too, but with the established system already in the game all i can really hope for at this point is a price cut : (
  2. a thought: i would actually be completely fine with the system in place if the price were halved to 200 gems per roll. that way if you don't get what you were hoping for it's cheap enough that it stings less, and Anet gets an increased likelihood that people will roll again while also not cheating people out of hundreds of dollars for randomized virtual cosmetics
  3. im one of the people who voiced the same opinion in multiple threads, and i apologize for that! however i do think this is a really important issue regarding the future of the game and of the gem store, and i'd like to see it reach an amiable conclusion. i'd be very much willing to buy these skins! i love a lot of them and they're designed really really well! but the issue is there's such a large grab bag, such a high-RNG chance to get something you didn't want, and such an exorbitant price to guarantee buying something you like. 50 bucks for a 10 pack of cosmetics is a LOT of money, and it's money i don't have to waste. some suggestions:-enable us to select which mount we're picking a skin for (and keep the no-duplicates rule)-lower the price of a ticket from 400 to 200 gems (still no duplicates!!)-make some of the skins accessible through collection quests or achievements-remove the rng aspect altogether and allow us to buy individual skins (200-300 for the more basic, 500 for the intermediate, maybe 800-1000 even for the "legendary" skins, but i don't have much of a reference for the ideal price point in terms of gem conversions so take that with a grain of salt) the bottom line is i'm really not willing to support a system that exploits and preys upon people's impulse control. it's unethical, unregulated gambling, and i agree with the public backlash against it on multiple fronts.
  4. yeah this is really disappointing,,, i didn't even have a forum account before tonight but i felt i had to comment on this specifically. RNG is exploitative and unethical and i'm disheartened to see Anet joining in on that. as far as suggestions go--it would be so much better if we could choose which mount we were grabbing for, at the very least. also, almost 50 bucks for 10 skins? that's.... a lot of money, man. that's more than the expansion base pricei'm not going to be buying any of these until they comment on the feedback, i know that much
  5. :+1: =-Mounts refresh and revitalize the process of map exploration. Movement is a joy now.-Story was engaging and fun. Definitely had me hooked. loved the afterlife level and sohothin felt great to use!-Bounty trains are great!-The griffon quest integrated lore into mount acquisition really well. I'd love to see more mount-related collection quests like that in the future, minus the gold paywall!-Scored beautifully.-Map designs were a lot of fun to explore.-New elite specs are awesome! Scourge is my favorite, but Spellbreaker is also really aesthetically pleasing. :-1: =I feel like things are starting to get locked behind bigger and bigger paywalls. Glider skins were cheap enough that you could buy one that you wanted and be done with it, but if i didn't just happen to have a year and a half's worth of gold sitting in my bank I'd never have gotten my griffon. The new RNG lootboxes to get mount skins are insulting and a huge cashgrab marring an otherwise highly enjoyable experience. They're super exploitative of people with poor impulse control, and I'd hoped Anet would be savvy enough to know it'd be way better PR to let people just.... buy what they want. Also, I wish there was more to do on the desert maps in terms of meta once all the story stuff was completed : (
