It is essentially "expansion level content" without any of the stuff that makes an expansion.

I think right now the "Saga" falls far short of expansion like content.

Since https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Endless_Embiggening_Tonic I have no regrets. I also use https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Endless_Miniature_Tonic to get lost in my Legendary weapon footfalls. Asura is the master race :)

Players would prbably be more willing to open up their wallet if they felt confident that the game wasn't being put into maintenance mode. With all the drama that happened in 2019 and their historical ability over hype and under deliver many players are on the fence with a "I'll believe it when I see it and then maybe I will spend money" attitude.

This is pretty much where I'm am. I am sitting on the fence with templates. I don't believe this should have been monetized unless they actually put them in an expansion with expansion quality content. They told us the next LS would directly follow the previous one. Then they delayed and hyped "Saga" but under-delivered. If they don't provide the promised expansion quality content, I will not buy gems or convert gold to gems for anything else.

As mentioned in a previous post, one thing we've been working on is a way to give you all greater flexibility when making experimental changes to templates. That's almost ready, and a Revert button for changes to templates will be shipping with the February 25 build. This feature will work a bit like a restore point: Clicking it will return everything back to the way it was when you first loaded up a build.

Thank you for letting us know Templates are still being worked on. However, there are many other suggestions and complaints in this feedback thread. Would it be possible for someone to list the other things that are being worked on with templates if anything else at all?

  5. @Fire Attunement.9835 said:Hey everybody, my name is Andrew Gray. I took over as Content Design Lead a few months back and I want to talk a bit about last year, this year, and what's on the horizon for Guild Wars 2.

I'm excited for what's coming next. There's going to be more news coming out throughout this year that will make it pretty kitten clear why, but in the meantime, we're incredibly grateful for all your constructive feedback and continued support of the game.

Thank you for the update. However, I can not muster up the excitement. Templates ... Yes, Templates. Anet unsticked the feedback thread and has left it to die. The obvious triple monetization and now lack of progress to address the issues is extremely discouraging.

    Necromancer:

Necromancer has always been designed to be a resilient profession that was light on Stability. Since this update specifically is removing some stability from their traits we made sure to buff their stunbreak skills appropriately in response. Additionally we've fixed a few issues with minion responsiveness and buffed a few of the weaker minion command skills.

    • Foot in the Grave: This trait has been retired and been replaced by Eternal Life.
    • Eternal Life (NEW): Gain life force constantly up to a threshold while not in shroud. (66% in PvE, 20% in PvP & WvW) Gain protection when you enter shroud.

If Eternal Life is replacing Foot in the Grave(Gain stability and break stuns when you enter shroud), at least leave us with the stun break. It seems like losing stability, Necromancers will have to forgo sensible utility choices and fill our bar with stun breaks. Foot in the Grave is in the Soul Reaping trait line which is used in Core, Reaper, and Scourge builds.

  7. An inexorable force on the battlefield, the reaper empowers itself enough to wield a cleaving greatsword to harvest its foes. Slow and hard-hitting, these deadly combatants call out the impending doom of their enemies with piercing shouts. Upon accumulating sufficient life force, they can enter the reaper’s shroud, a deadly form that grants them a dark scythe of malevolent energy and the abilities to match it. Capable of heavily afflicting their victims with chill and other conditions, the reaper wades into melee receiving and dealing blows knowing nothing can save its foes!

    — Reaper release notes

Except for small twigs and banana peels because with all that scary devastating INEXORABLE FORCE was not meant to have stability?

@"Cadaver Material.3162" said:This topic has garnished over 1100 replies from the player baseHow many of those replies are duplicates? There are only so many ways to tell Anet how displeased players are with the current implementation. ("I hate templates. Bring back ARC") After the first 20-30, I'd probably start ignoring them, too.Unfortunately (?), out of the 1100 replies, there were far too few actual constructive posts that probably got lost in the static. I'm sure that Anet understands the tenor of the bulk of the feedback here, but their metrics probably tell a far different tale.

This is the "Official Feedback Thread about Build and Equipment Templates", They(Anet) have to take the good with the bad and the repetitive. I don't understand the justification for a retailer(Anet) to ignore the consumer(players) feedback when they asked for it.

Edit- I think Anet was done with this thread the minute they decided to un-sticky it.

  9. @Fire Attunement.9835 said:Sorry about that. :/ We're aware of it and looking into what happened. @Ionut.2307 you mentioned every day–can you let us know when you began receiving them and for how many days? I can pass that along to the people looking into the cause of the problem.

I received multiple e-mails, in multiple languages starting on the 14th and stopped on the 15th.

In 2019, you brought down Kralkatorrik, defeated Qadim the Peerless, attended the biggest charr party ever as a guest of honor, and faced treachery in the Far Shiverpeaks. You’ve befriended skyscales, bonded with Raven, tackled four Strike Missions, and kicked back at festivals throughout the year.

Now it’s time to rest, relax, and look forward to what comes next! Before we head home to spend time with our families, we wanted to give members of the Guild Wars 2 team an opportunity to talk about these updates in their own words. Read more here!

At least we have a clear roadmap to show us they are never going to address the real issues with templates. :/

@kharmin.7683 said:Well, templates can be free by converting gold to gems and then purchasing them.

We can argue this point until the cows come home but, That is not free(those Gems used in the conversion are gems bought by players with real money). Listen to Mike Z's announcement, "all these features brought to us for free".

Yes they are bought by someone. YOU don't have to buy them.

As I said we will disagree until the end of time.

  12. I am a bit torn on this one. I main an Asura Reaper and have mostly Asuran toons. There are certain helms and outfits I like and think look good with my ears hidden. However, there are others that I like to see all my characters' corky features. For example, I like the Necromancer Reaper hood removing the ears, I do not like the Primeval Dervish outfit hood that is made to show Asuran ears, but I do like the Sunspear outfit helm, or Luminous armor helms showing ears, etc...
