Same here after the latest patch ( the adventure box thing ) , I get the beach cutscene on the beach and immediately thereafter disconnect and characters are invisible on character select screen as a small bonus . That means you can't even START the new expansion ...Also check how far back this issue was reported 🙂 It has to do with game "idling connection " while in a cutscene me thinks but it's appaling this still hasn't been addressed at all.

it's the old tactic of trying to force players to buy the expansion to have a viable class again . I won't be buying the expansion as a result .It's straight out of the Blizzard playbook

I'm seriously considering to stop playing GW 2 completely because of this bug in this "the departing " mission . It basically halts ALL progression and it seems this bug isn't even acknowledged ( it's not even in known issues tracker , for example)

I have the same problem . Right at end ( when you have to walk to portal) it ALWAYS disconnects . Had hoped patch would have fixed it ,but tried it again today and still DC'ed .Especially annoying since this is a story line mission , so this issue halts your progress .
