  1. I'd say go with warrior. Numbers can change, but from what you wrote you don't like the aesthetic theme of both ranger and revenant. I feel like that's probably more important in the long run. Especially for revenant since gs is packed in an elite spec, while at least with warrior and ranger you could potentially also have new specs to try with gs in the future
  2. Torch is a condition damage weapon (in guardian's case it'a all done by "burning" condition) while focus is more of a utility choice (it gives you some decent damage and a great shield with skill #5) When making a dps or solo build in this game the first thing you need to ask yourself is if you want to do condition based damage (basically damage over time) or power based damage (direct damage) This will change which stats you use on your armor and weapons. Power (damage), precision (crit chance) and ferocity (crit damage) are the most important stats for power damage. Condition damage and expertise (condition duration) are the stats you want to focus on if you want to do condition damage Based on this choice, you can more easily choose the right weapon for your build. Now, coming to your actual question, you can build both core guardian and dragonhunter to go with power damage (in which case I'd go with greatsword/sword + focus) If you want to build condition damage, core guardian should be better at it (best weapons would be sword/torch and scepter/torch). This being said, for open world you can experiment freely. I too often use focus over torch in any case because it's more comfortable having a shield and being able to blast fields. Also if you're new I think the extra defense could be more useful right now
  3. Buffs are welcome, but I'm super confused abount Vindicator. From the beginning I felt like we're not sure about what it's supposed to be. (PvE) If it was meant to be a pure power dps spec, why making Saint Viktor like this? If they really wanted to put a double legend and add some ritualist flavor why not focusing on lighting damage or damage buffs akin to gw1 ritualist? Also Archemorus is not nearly powerful enough to keep the spec floating on its own. If they wanted this to be a hybrid spec, it's failing hard. Viktor is a healing legend which isn't really supported enough by traits and lacks key supportive boons. Also unless you never swap to Archemous at all, imagine needing a Vikor skill while being in the other legend. By the time you double swap it's too late, you can never play reactively like that. Also what's the point of gs in a hybrid build? Rev doesn't even have other real supportive weapons I feel like this spec really need a complete reset and be done almost from scratch
