Welcome to the most sarcastic and sassy Christian community known as Above Water. Our love language is spoken through reaction gifs and just the right amount of trolling. We're a new(er) PvE/Social guild in Tyria that is simply looking to foster friendships, kinships, and a sense of community that extends beyond gaming. While it is true that our love of gaming is what initially draws us together, it is our love of Christ that binds us as brothers and sisters. We'll support you in Tyria and IRL.

We're so very excited to be exploring the world of Tyria and we welcome you to come along as we shake suspicious bushes, fill golden hearts, leap off of cliffsides, and drag less-than-enthusiastic members through Jumping Puzzles. We're a PvE community that has some loose interest in WvW and non-serious PvP---but the majority of our shenanigans take place in the form of beating up dragons in story mode, slaying Kitty Golems in low-level fractals (we're working towards T4, but we're also filthy casuals in comparison to T4 runners), and doing our PvE dailies.

Above Water is also eagerly awaiting to spread our roots into other realms like Verra (Ashes of Creation), Terminus (Pantheon: Rise of the Fallen), and Palia (Palia). Anyone who joins us will have a home in those worlds and will never be alone in their new adventures.

    Quick facts about us:
    1. Christian and Family-friendly.
      1. Conversations with adults without the adult-rated content.
      2. We don't cuss, curse, or use profanities.
      3. We are sarcastic and enjoy joking around.
    2. Provide fellowship beyond gaming.
      1. We have weekly prayer/Bible studies.
      2. An ongoing Prayer Request channel for anyone who needs/wants prayer outside of our Prayer meeting.
    3. Encourage faith-based discussions.
      1. We all walk different paths, but we encourage our members to walk with God and to openly discuss theology in a constructive and caring manner.
    4. Fun as it's meant to be.
      1. We believe that games are meant to be fun, so we won't make demands of our members when it comes to dedicated playtime, playstyles, or builds. If you want advice, we've got you. If you want to run rogue with your own setup, we support that too.
      2. We play a variety of games including Valheim, Tribes of Midgard, Baldur's Gate 3, Divinity: Original Sin 2, and Jackbox Party Games, and we're looking into starting an online D&D night.
    5. We're growing.
      1. We don't require 100% representation in GW2. We only ask that you regularly participate in our Comms to the best of your abilities. It's hard to build camaraderie if members don't communicate with one another. :classic_wink:
If you're interested in learning more about us, please visit our site and if you're ready to join us, we invite you to complete an application to come Above Water with us. Oh! Also, we don't use Discord---instead, we use Guilded. :classic_cool:

Family-friendly non-Christians are welcome to join us! Don't feel that you have to be a Christian to join us as family-friendly oriented people can thrive in Above Water so long as they're open to Christian thought and discussion. If that's not your cup of tea, we get it and we wish you the best in finding a place to call home.

Not sure if this is a Bug or something else

But I've noticed Unusually High Memory Usage in the GW2 client Following the Update.

Pre-update it was normal to see around 15-20% RAM usage by the System in MOST non-EOD maps. EOD maps would cause it to sit at 27-30% And Not go back down until I restarted the game client ( Thus dumping the Cached RAM )

Post-update the normal appears to be 24-28% , rarely passing 33% , but It's definitely leaking memory somewhere, as about 5% of My RAM usage just.. goes unaccounted for when Adding things up in Task manager.

I'm not sure if this needs looked into but I'm certainly documenting it in case it does.

Have you tried turning it off and on again ?

I am going to build new pc at some point was wondering which CPU is best for GW2 atm. Intel or AMD ddr5 prefer.

I have GTX 4090 and Intel Core i9 13900KS. I run the game at 4k resolution.

Hardware wise I'm neither cpu or gpu limited.

The game is engine limited so you won't find the fps issues with world bosses fixed by throwing hardware at the issue (specifically world bosses in pve)

I see, but still, isn't right when a virtuoso can dance in front of everyone while spamming invulnerability, don't matter what, this shouldn't be a thing.

They can't spam invulnerability. Distortion has cooldowns.

When I'm fighting a Virtuoso on Spellbreaker I watch for distortion and aegis. If the Virtuoso is running Inspiration traitline keep up pressure and bait signet use and stun breaks.

This game is not about what's fair.

It's about how you adapt. I like playing druid too but it's certainly not optimal in PvP.

I don't see the point of being immortal the entire fight while at the same time being a good dps, invulnerability should have a really short duration for the convenience that is currently, or then a higher cooldown.

Every day i see mesmers and warrios just spamming invulnerability as much as they want, and still, doing a great damage, where is the balancing here? why do some classes need to pay attention to do the same job of other that just can be played blindly?

Look. You have to learn to keep an eye on your opponents utility use. If it's endure pain or aegis or distortion.

You'll never overcome these issues if you don't play the classes you find difficult to beat.

As you've indicated it's not a even playing field. Let go of the expectation that you'll beat every class. There are some hard counters.

A virtuoso is going to kick your butt period.

A well played warrior is prob going to kick your butt too.

In regards to your post about CC and warriors this is a skill issue on your part. You have to get better, learn to save your dodges and get a better idea of skills and cooldowns.

I appreciate your frustration and I've been in the same situation myself.

    You can do this 👍

Match after match after match of people auto attacking, standing by and observing fights instead of participating, and people just wandering around the map ignoring objectives.

How do these people have so much money to just sit around, not work, and buy up alt accounts with expansions? I don't get it. Don't you want more out of life? Usually duo queued too. So glad they've been gifted this option to abuse the system.

Time to farm another 20 gold from one-sided matches while watching the 1001 not-so-subtle tactics employed by the cartel.

Bast, instead of worrying about wintrading, start working on your own attitude towards others. Unfortunately you're well known for harassing, trolling and abusing other's in chat whether it be in matches or the ffa arena.

Having a positive effect in the community starts with you.

    Thanks

Literally any version of warrior is outshined in the meta and we all know it. This upcoming balance patch needs to give warrior love specifically In pvp , so it can compete on the same level as Holo, necro, teef, mech, rev, or willbender.

This is it I’m done after this. If some basic version, even shout spam mockery “oh we like getting offhandedly buffed cuz we play other classes” bladesworn is still not in the meta properly and the class itself as a whole is  neglected I’m making a change.org petition.

it’s overdue tbh. Call me a baby but it has to be done.

    >In b4 “ Oh it won’t do anything”

Yes it will if we all spread the message and make it clear that we won’t tolerate the cold shoulder any longer.

Call this pretentious but someone has to do it.

I've lost count of how many "that's it I'm done" posts about warrior you've made.

Look, things are not great but you have plenty of other classes to play. Focus on the things you can do in the game that bring you joy.

Apart from that, it's out of our control.

imagine being invaded and conquered by a bunch of people talking like this. the embarrass

Because while the truncheon may be used in lieu of conversation, words will always retain their power. Words offer the means to meaning, and for those who will listen, the enunciation of truth. And the truth is, there is something terribly wrong with balance in this veritable visage of voila, isn't there? Bladesworn cruelty and injustice, Virtuosic intolerance and Willbending oppression. And where once you had the freedom to object, to think and speak as you saw fit, you now have censors and systems of surveillance coercing your conformity and soliciting your submission. How did this happen? Who's to blame? Well certainly there are those more responsible than others, and they will be held accountable, but again truth be told, if you're looking for the guilty, you need only look into a mirror.

    Hi Cal and Fire,

With the upcoming balance patch I wanted you both to be aware of this issue in PvP with Bladesworn.

Currently with Bladesworn in PvP, Dragonscale Defense (Stability on Trigger) is supposed to be a 60 second CD in PvP but it's using the 8 second CD PvE value !

Also, please consider reviewing the might applied on Unyielding Dragon.

Bladesworn healing / sustain is currently busted when players use traits Healing Shouts (Tactics)  and Might Makes Right (Strength) combined with shout utility "For Great Justice!" and the might applied on Unyielding Dragon.

Thank you for looking into this.

    Kind regards.

Damage that puts Sic Em Soulbeast to shame, almost permanent unblockable on all their most important abilities.  1200 range on basically everything.  Has access to tons of block and distortion.  Can run either power crit for insane spikes or condition for unrecoverable condition pressure. You've turned mesmer/mirage/chronomancer from a merely over powered build into a god mode build that annihilates everything in its path without a second thought  and never dies.

Monkey See, you have confirmed working theories of parallel Universes!

In the one you inhabit, Virtuoso is god tier instead of trash tier.

    Praise Joko!
