  1. GS skill 4 is the most useless wasted skill slot in the freaking game . It fails almost always as a block even on NPCs . This is just a lazy backward solution to a problem that didn't even exist. No different than the breaking of Path of Scars in April 19, 2016. Breaking a skill just for the sake of breaking a skill.

  2. Pin snipping commanders is a legitimate tactic in war.Best defence against snipers is to have your own snipers . If you commander refuses to include those classes that excel as pin snipping that's the commander of your groups problem .

  3. The whole game is so out of whack. I can't even join a flipping strike mission now with out being some specialization of either Guardian or Necro.Doesn't seem to matter how loud people scream that the guard boon share and necro AOE spam is WAAAAY over powered , ANET refuses to listen.Are the Devs even reading this forum ? HELLO !! You there DEV's ? How about some explanation as to why you keep promoting this stupid Guard /necro meta .

    You've made absolutely no case for the removal of retaliation. Its a boon. Take a teammate to deal with it. No Teammate? Grab some CC and a sigil. Too much stability? Bring a Spellbreaker or Necro along for the ride or play one of them since your group seems to be lacking in the essentials.

    LMAOYou fail because your trying to defend a clearly over powered boon that requires absolutely NO skill to implement and absolutely NO skill to hold at Near 100% up time and and tell everyone else to get good .

    Every single player in WvW can bring boon rip on cc with a sigil. If boons are a problem for you, build in the counter given to you by Anet into your build. Retaliation isn't the issue here, it's QQ over poorly placed and poorly timed nukes going against the nuker who refuses to run the counter or learn how to be a better nuker.

    Many times Havoc groups need to gather together to fight a map blob So retaliation is an issue .People can have as many sigils as they can carry but it won't do sweet F A because they won't work when the hit is reflected back. Retaliation is to over powered .

    Retal is only an issue in zergs. Your zerg should have boon strips. Place bombs on bubbles. GG, retaliation is countered. /Endofthread.

    Like hell it is . Many groups run in small havoc groups No it needs to go because it only serves the precious META that people have become addicted to .REMOVE RETALIATION !!END OF THREAD

MechanicsWhen picked up or otherwise obtained, a bundle replaces the currently equipped weapon's skills with its own set of skills, without actually replacing the weapon itself in the hero panel. Your weapon will become unusable until you either swap weapons or drop the bundle, but you will continue to benefit from any bonuses your equipped weapons provide. Note : The wielder drops the banner either through being downed, using weapon swap or using a trap, the banner is lost (and you have to wait until the tactivator is recharged to get a new one). The banner is also lost when changing equipment.

    First thing . Drop the weapon bonus and any other bonuses if applicable . This was done with siege and banners should be no exception . Second . Add When person is hit for damage the banner is damaged as well . Armour bonuses don't effect banners . As the bar is reduced the output effectiveness is reduced by the percentage lost. This would apply to all tactivator bundles .When the bar is at zero the banner is destroyed and the bundle is dropped.

  10. Stealth was nearly tolerable prier to PoF . Shadow Meld put it way over the top . Remove the counter to reveal and it's fixed . Simple. . Add a half second reveal between each stealth skill and 1 second reveal after an attack that hits . The player can no longer use it as a crutch but has to use it skilfully . Then trim the evades a little bit ,specifically on the Daredevil and the Thief class will be fine.

    The idea of only being able to stealth in shadows ,tall grass on in bushes is a great idea providing those systems are dynamic. If they are static, people will just be able to remember where the thieves may be hiding and completely avoid those areas. It would also require a fair bit of programming to create that kind of dynamic environment .

  11. 5K critical doesn't seem that much. But that depends on what armor it's critical against and at what percentage of health the OP was at . With out those factors it's difficult to make an argument either way. Theirs always 2 sides of a coin .I main ranger and really don't find thief damage to be a real issue. The excessive stealth and auto evade crutch is a bigger issue.I find Mesmer far more over the top with the excessive clone spam and AOE pull.

  12. People can't compare true shot with any of the Ranger long bow skills as being equal . True shot carries a coefficient of 2.44 for a single shot with a cool down of 4 sec and a 3/4 second activation . Non of the ranger long bow skills carry that kind of punch . Even rapid fire is misleading as being an over powered skill but it only carries a coefficient of 0.275 per shot NOT the 2.75 presented in the description. Rapid fire requires all 10 shots to achieve the posted maximum damage. Rapid fire also has a 10 second cool down and 2.5 second activation. In 5.5 seconds true shot can be fired twice . which amounts to over 2 times the damage with 2 shots compared to 10 shots from rapid fire over the same time frame . So I would say that True Shot definitely requires looking into.

    Boon share is not fine when 2 classes with minimal presence can hold a 100% up time with minimal effort on a whole group. "Sic'Em" was only a problem to people with glass Meta builds . Glass cannon ranger is not a Meme build but a forced build because no other choice is given that has any benefit to a group. Ferocity and fury is rammed down the rangers throat forcing power and precision the only valid choices to make.

    Ok, then, let's keep useless spirits that only work with Druid in raids for the sake of roleplaying and lore.

    Spirits are stand alone, buffed by one single trait . Non of the specializations have any effect on what spirits do.

  15. This is too 1v1 again . Ranger has enough solitude as it is . Rangers need more benefits for group interaction . Druid was supposed to address that issue but got nerfed from being a mediocre benefit to just about completely useless to the group. Solitude again. Soul beast was suppose to address the limited use of the pet but was railed into power, precision and ferocity more than core ranger did. Hence the hated pew - pew projectile glass cannon supposed "Boonbeast" . Supportive and Deadly pets took a back seat because of the nerfs to traps , melee weapons ,short range weapons and spirits. Again separating the ranger to a solitude role.
    I my opinion I think people that play ranger class are tired of the seclusion.

    Spirits have been part of Ranger in GW1, you can't simply cut them out.Guild Wars Rangers are more than the
    pew-pew ranged weapon with pet
    archetype.

    Guild wars 2 is fundamentally different to Guild wars 1 since the Exodus of the Gods . Guardians of GW2 took over the aspects of the GW1 monk . Paragons and Dervish have pretty much disappeared as professions aside from followers of Palawa Joko. Thieves are pretty much the remnants of the much honoured Assassins after decimation the Empire of the Dragon .Who can say that common rangers of Tyria could have lost the art of spirit calling because of the Exodus of the Gods only to be found again with a new specialization.The change wouldn't be cutting spirits out anyway . Just simply moving them to there own specialization making them more useful with better functionality . Creation of a hybrid of the remaining knowledge of the Ritulist and Ranger rituals of GW1 would be fitting since the spirits were rituals of the ranger. . Right now spirits take up one trait slot that hardly ever gets used because it has no synergy with anything.

    The pew- pew of the current ranger was forced by poor structuring in the mechanics and unreasonable nerfing of the other aspects and specializations. Given the current state of the ranger class people have had no choice but to take up Glass LB as main play style. Which is no more annoying than Mesmer clone spam ,Thief stealth spam , Scourge AOE spam, Guardian boon spam.

  17. I always thought the spirits just seemed out of place on the core ranger .Like it was thrown in to fill a gap. I would rather see a spirits dropped from the core traits and moved to a new profession that expanded the spirits to a more worth while specialization similar to the ritualist . Change Natures Vengeance (minus the spirits) to something that makes more sense like ,for example ,Call of the wild could grant a small amount of healing to nearby allies. Since Spirit of Nature is kind of useless anyway it would be nice to have an elite trap or elite signet

    This is why I call BS on these complaints . Either this persons armour is less than 400 or the soul beast is heavily booned by the Guardian.. Even with full might and full Blood lust with full berzerker build with the old skill-specific coefficient of 1.5 , and 3971 power , worldly impact damages for 3127 on 2200 armour. With a crit about 11K. That's typical crit damage on any glass build.

    Charge would crit for 8K on glass 2200 armour . Also not unusual . Any class can do similar or better damage on a glass target.And this is what ticks me off about these complaints . They point the finger specifically at the Ranger/ Soul beast when it' s the boons being handed out like candy by the Guardian /Firebrand . The soul beast with long bow /Great sword can't stack 25 might without help. Even with full concentration power would suffer .It's the boon sharing . No build should be able to have all boons maxed to 25 with a 100% up time. And no class should be able to share or deliver that amount of boons.

  19. Soulbeast damage is NOT the problem .The big numbers are not coming from the soulbeast attacks alone. IT"S COMING FROM THE BOON SHARE !!! It's the boons that are problem. This has been the problem since HOT . FIX THE "F" ING BOONS. Until the boon share is fixed we will see the same meta and the same classes dominating the play field . If SoulBeast was so darn OP Then why Is it NOT dominating the game . Because it's not over powered and never was over powered. What it was doing was disrupting the META and the people playing the META don't like that.
    I won't even hesitate the the Devs are even cratering to this and have absolutely NO interest of balancing the game in WvW .Waiting patiently 8 years to have ranger brought up to a position to actually compete in WvW just to have it completely destroyed over and over again . I'm tired and seriously considering on leaving . But I guess since I don't play the META I won't have an effect on ANETS bottom line
