  1. Hello, It looks like there was an update posted regarding a crashing issue.
  2. Hero points mean nothing without application and every player will be able to unlock all hero points eventually. However, I do see how some may get annoyed that others will be "ahead" in some way. Imagine two players: - Player A: Buys hero points via the Gem Store - Player B: Does not buy hero points Player A will be able to unlock traits, elite specializations, etc. quickly. Player B will gradually need to work on gathering hero points, spending some hours doing this. At one point, both players A & B will have unlocked the hero points they need. Also it does not even take long to unlock hero points. But in the end, it does not matter, and both will be able to freely select skills & their elite specialization. Neither player has an advantage in the end-game because it depends on how they use their skills and traits anyway, so therefore it does not matter. Now, imagine if a player were able to buy a "Boost trait's ability XYZ" from the Gem Store and let us take it one step further by making this item a permanent boost. Now, that would certainly be unfair, right? This will give a player a sure advantage over another. If two equally skilled players were to fight, but one was able to get a boost to their trait, guess who would probably win?
  3. I like to think about this game as a means of relaxation and whatever update we get is what we get. Now, I have not been playing as much these months, but there is tons to do and see. Now, feedback is certainly important and any company should listen to its customers. Considering the number of players and what may be going on internally, someone has to make decisions on what is going to be new, fixed, improved, etc. and no way can we control or predict what will happen. Some players will be fond of XYZ, but others will not like XYZ. Then, you have some who are neutral. Since this game is massive and there are so many players, they may simply not be able to handle everything that comes their way. Much like any other company, you can only have so much help. If you are short of people or they are out of office, it is simply the situation at hand and what is taking place. Ultimately, it is good to voice one's opinions, but we have to think about that opinion and what does it mean? We all want to be valued, but we cannot take everything personally and sometimes nothing will happen or change. So, unfortunately, we have to go with the flow. No one is at fault -- you can think of each major update or expansion as a summation of all the circumstances, ideas, flow of thoughts, etc. that ArenaNet had. The end result, in this case, is the build that we as players receive.
  4. Ultimately, you would need to contact the Support team, but what is worth noting is I believe others have been also encountering crashes since the latest updates. Unfortunately, it is hard to determine any commonalities as each person's case is quite unique and where they are crashing, their specs, etc. so I will start with the following: Try setting all graphics options to low, medium, high & even let GW2 try detecting best performance vs look to see if any particular settings you find make impacts or at least minimizes crashes. Try running Command Prompt in admin mode along with "sfc /scannow" without quotes to see if that helps to see if there are any files the system can check and repair as needed. Do any other games you may play have similar issues? Is your GW2 folder outside of Program Files? Are you able to try moving GW2 to a different drive to see if that helps? Try Windowed mode & Fullscreen Windowed mode to see if that helps.
  5. For those still having issues after it was stated the issue has been resolved, have you tried the usual troubleshooting like resetting the router, trying a different system, trying both WiFi and ethernet, etc.? One frequent command I see for Windows you can enter in the command prompt is "ipconfig /flushdns" -- type that without the quotes and press Enter. I remember seeing a more comprehensive set of commands for network reset, so if the items mentioned here do not help, I can try tracking that down and post that here to see if that may help.
  6. I believe this has been a long-standing issue over the years. At least in the last year or two, I remember getting placed into these instances, but rarely. Has this been happening frequently for you? If so, it might just be luck and the time one is playing that are key factors.
  7. It sounds like something may have gotten corrupt in the GW2 files over time. Please try the following (instructions below pasted from the GW2 help articles for easy access): Delete the GW2 cache Repair the client Instructions for #1: Completely close the game. Hold down the Windows and R key to open the Run prompt. Type %temp% in the box that appears and click OK. Find any folders named "gw2cache-(code)" and delete them. Example: gw2cache-(50641E0B-3AD4-1601-081E-6450D43A0116) Re-launch the game. Instructions for #2: Locate your Gw2.exe file. Right-click on the file and select Create shortcut. Rename this new shortcut to Guild Wars 2 Repair. Right-click on Guild Wars 2 Repair and select Properties. Locate the Target line and add –repair to the end. (Example: "C:\Games\Guild Wars 2\gw2.exe" -repair) Click OK. Now double-click the Guild Wars 2 Repair shortcut. This will begin repairing your game client automatically. The game will then launch when it is complete. NOTE: Keep in mind that the verification and repair process will run each time you double-click the Guild Wars 2 Repair shortcut; if you would like to play the game without repairing the archive, double-click on Gw2.exe or another shortcut without the -repair command in the 'Target' line.
  8. By any chance, are you fighting the Kournan version of these Awakened Inquest?
  9. No problem at all. Glad you got it resolved! Hope you are able to complete it soon!
  10. Got it. Thank you for checking! Were you able to test with different characters to see if that makes a difference?
  11. Hello! You can try repairing the game client. The respective help article is here, if needed. Also, not sure if this was already done, but perhaps deleting the GW2 cache may help: Completely close the game.
  12. To confirm, have you completed all the story steps that are stating "..." or does it appear to be random in what is being impacted?
  13. This may sound silly, but have you tried setting a different keybind and then changing it back to your keyboard 4 keybind? Just to re-toggle it. Perhaps a -repair of the client would be worth trying as well.
