The meta reward this year is great and I love to have another matching piece, you know what would make it even better? If it was three skins, one just as it is, and two  - similar to how the Powered Gloves were made previous year, only left shoulder or only right one. Pretty please?

THIS! gib me! it would look so amazing. kinda dissapointed they didnt do it like this.

You want me to tell you why I make it a mountain? I can tell you, but you probably won't like it.

It's the experiences, of this community not being as friendly or open-minded to even allow a simple compromise.
Who shut everyone else as valid concerns as yours, like it doesn't actually matters.
That's the reason why I am angsty about it.
Yes I admit I'm passionate about this case, as I'm rather heavily invested into it.
Proving me again and again that my voice doesn't matter. This is what I came to understand the Guild Wars 2 Community to have been. For 9 long years.
    No kindness, no understanding.

I am really trying to understand here. a simple compromise is fine, but calling peopel leeches and liking it to thefts and art stealing is kinda... wrong? if that made sense?
And yeah i agree the community aint as friendly as people tend to believe. but we are part of it ourselves, having said that, shouldnt we share the knowledge we have and not make it harder for people to get started?

I get being passionate about how you amke your character, and i always admired everyones fashion. but most people (me included) are not comfy talking to random strangers about topics like that. (due to the nasty community lashes some of us experienced) would it be fair to exclude those people? while i can somewhat understand you like your looks and wanting to be unique. but we hold the power to make the community a TAD better. and we do so by sharing what we know.

What I am saying is what stops me for doing it to you.
What can be done one way can easily be done the other way... Doesn't it sounds better to just have that extra reserves?

What hurts you so much to not allowing that extra option. Tell me. I'm all ears.
WE have told you exactly what hurts us, so the ball is in your camp now.

I dont mind the extra option, i just feel you are making an mountain out of an anthill if people wanna copy my characters...why care? its a game, with limited options. i cannot comprehend the issue tbh, (might be my autism) but seriously, as i mentioned before, th epoint of development is to have the newer people have it easier. 99.9 percent of people do not care about fashion contests. they just wanna look cool for themselves. if I as a fashion warrior can help them by having a look, then by all means, copy to your hearts content.

  4. Isnt the point of "DEVELOPMENT" making thing easier for those who come after us? if the enitre world made such a fuss about the new folks getting things easier there is no innovation. as it will never benefit anyone. keep in minjd it are pixels. i am an avid fashionista myself but if people wanna take my looks. sure go ahead. i did the work for you so you dont have to break your head over it.

THAT is innovation. what is happening now in the fashion community is regression.

I love them and I want them IRL lol

Requesting a hooded sweater to go with them. 😄

While not really possible on other weights, on light using the acolyte shoulders with the fishers jacket gives a nice hoodie vibe :3 but a dedicated single skin would be grand yes :3

Yeah, it's getting out of hand. They cater to furries and Asian anime lovers with those tacky designs.

I didnt know that liking cats is a furry thing... and i say that AS A FURRY. the only furry appeal gw2 has imo is Charr and the adventerous cat out fit. but thats it. (Norn would be cool if they could permanently in their animal form)

Unfortunately this is the trick with everything Anet adds to the game... the seemingly inevitable resulting imbalance and the subsequent patches to re-balance (balance?  lol)

Anyway, while we can be skeptical, I don't think it's a reason not to try... else the game stagnates and nothing moves forward... Trust in the process, to eventually work out any kinks...

Oh i agree that we have to see what works. but anet tends to reward things with 2 greens and a blue. and i doubt that RNG aspect will be worth that.

Ok, in addition to all of the ideas that should have happened already (tacklebox, persistent fishing stacks, etc) here's my new wrinkle to fishing:

You are fishing.  You have a bite!  Based on RNG (which could be boosted with various items), suddenly your chill mini-game morphs into an epic battle!  Some kind of added mechanism is added to the mini-game to increase difficulty, and the fish becomes a "WHOPPER"; a fish that is twice the size of what you were going to catch... and rewards are improved.  New achievement line, added corresponding gem-store utility items, etc...

    Maybe?

On paper it sounds okay, like you pull a shark and you have to fight it off. however in practise, you risk the fishing stacks with this. and while Zephyrite Fish jerky can salvage such a situation, it is really annoying. i doubt the extra loot anet is willing to give will balance it out.

I believe that raids were a mistake.

Fair, i live by the motto: live and let live.
people enjoy it so sure, let it be. I do not like the whole raid community, but i wont raise a fuss (or atleast try not to)
I dislike PVP with a passion of a thousand burning suns. but people love it. so who i am to say that it has no place here?

Fishing was some of the most lazy and boring kitten ever added to the game. Moving a slider so much fun... kitten. This game is rly going in a bad direction.

What is boring to you, is relaxing and chill to me. if there is more of this casual Slice-of-life content i am all here for it.

Fishin will most likely not get anything added beyond further collections.
Those collections will be an afterthought, as has been demonstrated with SotO.
    Fishing was a mistake.

Just cuz you dont like it doesnt make it a mistake, i dont like raids, fractals, pvp and wvw. i COULD consider them a mistake. but doing so wont help the fact its here. so don't like it? don't interact with it.

I'm happy that I am mostly done with fishing.  Probably going to do the SotO maps fishing achievements (still have not worked on that - waiting for all fish to be available) - and then I will stay with the daily.

It does not need more stuff that tries to force people to fish. This is just something like the PoF bounties: Once you have ton the main stuff you are finished. And it really is not interesting ... the mini game could have been a lot better. But this is just too simply - same as the crafting. This is not the strenght of GW2.

There were other MMORPG that had more interesting crafting systems. (With different components and some mini game added to the crafting and a bit of a luck factor - when you tried to produce stuff of higher quality.) A good fishing system would have fit well in there.

But not with GW2. To make it intersting you need to make it more complex. (I would have liked a tiered thing. Catching lower level fish to use as bait for higher level fish. We only have the mackerel here and because of the grindy achievements they needed to sell that one directly at the vendor. Else people aiming for full completion would hav been too annoyed.)

The main thing to keep it long-term interesting is the Ambergis I think. And the prices are still fairly high (about 2g) despite people trying to farm Leviathan.

I would not mind if the bait got turned into wallet currency though. To free up some inventory space. (But that probaly was the reason to create fishing: To take up more inventory space so people buy bag slot expanions for gems.)

I agree that we need a tacklebox. and nice fisher gear. rods are fun and all... but there is more to fishing then just the rods.

  13. Another random idea came to my mind, if we catch a legendary fish, we could have the option to turn it into fish filets and ambergris OR turn it into a guild hall decoration, like an painting? or a Print of it? idk just a random idea i came up with while i was fishing.
