The Pact is basically joint operations and the orders do their own thing as well.  It's currently finding new purpose or discussing being disbanded.

If I remember right, Logan is looking into finding the Pact a new purpose now that the Elder Dragons are dealt with.

The Vigil has basically become a second military force to protect Lion Arch but still recovering from the loss of Almorra since Laranthir is still refusing to take up his rightful place as the next leader of the Vigil so Jhavi is still acting as temporary leader until he finally decides to fully commit to his position.

The Priory still seem busy since even without Elder Dragons, they have plenty of other things to do such as uncovering ancient ruins, discovering forgotten history, inventing new things to benefit Tyria as a whole, and etc. This Order probably has the most plans setup with what they will do after the Elder Dragons are dealt with due to the need for exploration teams into unknown regions and constant search for lost history.

Order of Whispers are probably more focused on creating "world peace" from the shadows now that the Elder Dragon part of their job is dealt with. Not to mention with Elona no longer under Joko's control and the Sunspears return to their position as the main military organization of Elona, they probably have a lot of work going on there.

However, considering the recent sudden invasion of Demons all over tyria, I have a feeling it will not be long for the Order and Pact to get involved in SoO due to maybe seen the Commander going around Tyria fighting the Kryptis invasion. The Demon Invasion is making a lot of noise and not to mention since Taimi knows the Commander is with Zojja (which no one has seen and heard from in over 17 years), I have a feeling they may have put all the hints together that the Commander got himself/herself into another "Prevent world ending threat" again.

  2. It is mostly just a organization and cultural view title thing. Wayfinder is the Astral Ward's title for special people who have achieved great deeds.

The Commander was mostly a title for people who saw the Commander as the Commander of the military force against the Elder Dragons. A fitting title for the times of the War against the Elder Dragons. However, the title is not much Post- Elder Dragon Saga now that everyone have moved on and finding their own way in life. Well except the Commander since he/she is having a hard time settling back to his/her old life from the time before he/she began his/her Personal Story.

Heck, in Elona we basically started out as the Outlander as the Elonian's title for those not from Elona until later when we started to be called the Commander due to Elonian's shift in how they view our character being a leader of a military force to fight against Balthazar and eventually Joko.

Back in Zhaitan Arc, our character had multiple titles before we were given the title Commander once the Pact was formed to represent our position and how the public in a area views our character.

This maybe a common thing as we go through the new storyline set after Elder Dragon Saga as we enter new places since these new places may have different titles for specific people based on how their views and organization's systems. After all we cannot expect people to just call our character Commander in places that may not even know our character well enough or not use their own organization's titles for specific people that are not officially part of the organization.

Vorpp having long distance communication during Season 1 is pretty weird tbh.
Not just that, but when you're hunting pieces for the Vorpp's Assistant achievements/story beat, he just has a hologram pop up and it's there.

      Reveal hidden contents
After speaking to the Citizen witness
Emissary Vorpp: Listen carefully: I need a focusing crystal from an Aetherblade captain, the oscillating diaphragm of a twisted horror...
Emissary Vorpp: ...and a translocator beacon from one of her giant portals.
    After gathering first component
Emissary Vorpp: There's a sort of pattern to Scarlet's madness, but the more I catch a glimpse of it, the less I want to perceive.
    After gathering second component
Emissary Vorpp: Just one more component. You've got this!
    After gathering last component
Emissary Vorpp: Amazing work! Come back to me in Divinity's Reach and I'll install those final components. We'll stop her yet!

    https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Clockwork_Invasion#Dialogue
In HoT, Taimi has similar but they're all recorded "holo-disks". So it's a bit weird how the communicator is "new" here...

One could make the argument that Vorpp's tech was simply not something you'd carry around while Taimi's communicators were handheld, but...
We have that Clockwork Invasion stuff that happens first, and during S1 we also had Tassi's Relay Golem which was... also.. somehow... handheld... despite being a golem shaped like o-Tron...
Asura tech is wildly inconsistent is my final verdict.

The lack of sharing Asuran technology is very on point with their society as a majority. Only the minority attempt to share asuran technology and even then it is limited to the technology they can make only.

Asuran society have a very "not sharing unless there is something that allows them to one up everyone else" mentality. Majority of the Asuran council are even still on the side of not sharing Asuran Technology even through the events of Elder dragon saga. The one Council member we could convince to share what he can atleast provide himself had to literally be bribed by promising him that he can take credit for Taimi's creations and discoveries so he can one up everyone else.

Of course we almost lost that alliance back then due to Taimi's tantrum but that is still part of Asuran society's norms causing it since they value individual's value through their intelligence and reputation over the individual themselves. Something that we see affect even Zojja in SoO when she was having a mental breakdown since she been only valued in Asuran society by her intelligence and what she can provide to others over herself as a individual. It is something she lost due to the damage done to her mind by mordremoth which we read a bit about in some of Zojja's notes about her time in the Wizard's Court during events of Elder Dragon Saga.

  4. I think it would be better if they find a use for the Weapon Swap button as something else instead of switching Main Weapons.

A future Elite Spec can use the Weapon Swap button for maybe a Elite Spec mechanic.

Heck, they could have used it as our button for Holosmith to activate Holoforge mode instead of F5 (or whatever button you assigned this to.)

  5. I am honestly a bit curious about a lot of things in the story but the story has been decent so far despite being split into 4 updates this time.

Galrath and his story about how he ended up becoming a member of the Wizard's court is something I am very interested in but most likely just a side story thing as we progress.

Last time we saw him was a one time side quest Boss in GW1 and we killed him to prevent him from obtaining the secrets to Wizard's Tower for whatever reasons he was doing so which we did not get much information about since we could only guess he was either a member of the White Mantle or a Rogue Lionguard.

Now he is back as a Undead (he was revived as a Undead sometime after during GW1 from what we know so far off screen) and officially a member of the Wizard's Court protecting Tyria from any Mist Demon invasions. He is even still wearing his armor from GW1 but now rusted due to the time jump to GW2 time.

  6. This is a discussion about SoO lore so there are SPOILERS below. You ARE WARNED!

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

For those who do not know or need a recap, the Mursaat attempted to rally all races together to fight the Elder Dragons in the previous cycle but when they attempted to fight the Elder Dragons the other Races decided to not get involved and left the Mursaat to be slaughtered by the Elder Dragons. This is what eventually lead the Mursaat to turn evil and betray the other races near the end of their Cycle.

Now to current events, Isgarren mentions these events during the Epilogue for a moment and provides a bit more detail to what happened.

As Isgarren said, the Mursaat were promised support from the other races BUT they were split between two factions in each race being those who wanted to fight the Elder Dragons and those who wanted to just leave the Elder Dragons alone. Sadly, the side that wanted to avoid fighting the Elder Dragons in each race won more support so when the Mursaat called on those who said they will go to their aid against the Elder Dragons when the time came they could not due to the majority agreeing and denying them the ability to go to help the Mursaat. Thus they decided the run over fighting the Elder Dragons. It is unknown which side was Isgarren on during this time but since he was called "your majesty" I can only guess Isgarren may have been the Seer leader during the Previous Elder Dragon cycle and if he was on the side of fighting the Elder Dragons he may have been unable to convince the majority to join the fight but if he was on the side who chosen to run at the time, he may have regretted the choice for a long time considering the consequences of that choice.

Of course we all know the result of this choice being the Mursaat turned evil and betrayed the other races once all races in the previous cycle finally decided it was time to actually fight the Elder Dragons instead of running.

It is a small addition to this existing lore but still a important addition since it explains more about what went wrong during the previous Elder Dragon Cycle.

What is your opinion about this added small lore detail?

I personally find it logical that the "new" technology doesn't spread to other places yet, especially when it's well, new, and people are stubborn to both adapt to it and give away one (cough Asura). Cantha supposedly has been having Jade Tech for a decade now and while that's nothing in gw2 timeline, had they shared it around to the outside world, you would have seen way more of those outside of Tyria, not that it negates the fact that some people would still rely on the ol reliable paper and notes though.

You don't need anyone's experience to explain this. If they are not going to share your inventions, you have three choices: ask them nicely (good luck lel), steal from them (or basically reverse-engineer and make your own version using that knowledge), or just suck it up and go on with your day without it. With most NPCs seemingly ignorant of...pretty much everything, I don't think they are in the rush to go after the Asura and demand that they get something from their secret boxes.

Well the Epilogue of SoO Part 1 does suggest that certain Jade Tech has spread out more than others.

In the Epilogue we see the results of our interview from Prologue on a Jade Tech Holo TV News show that Mi Rae works for. Instead of Cantha she says all of Tyria instead which suggests that the Jade Tech Holo TV has spread out more into Core Tyria regions so it may have become a more common house item in current time. Being a household item now, we obviously cannot see it since we cannot enter every single house in GW2 so this is something they have to tell and not show as the timeline progress.

Keep in mind that 1 year has passed since events of EoD in the timeline being EoD takes place in 1335 AE (which includes the events of EoD Epilogue involving the Oni) and SoO takes place in 1336 AE (Aurene went to her long sleep during early 1336 AE). So the one year passing has atleast started to bring certain jade tech from Cantha into more commonly used civilian life items for Core Tyria Civilizations.

I want to preface this by saying I know Guild Wars 2's method of introducing and killing off characters isn't exactly new, a few missions of spotlight before characters eat the dust are common. I don't always have problems with this - for instance, Blish was probably the most unquestionable 'deaths' in terms of "we got to know that character but they have to die" - but this really bugs me. I'd also like to say despite the odd thing here or there that I really enjoyed SOTO. I think all the new lore and occasional retcorns are, for the most part, fun.

      Hide contents

But what reason, exactly, do we have, that means Mabon has to die for being possessed by Cerus? Is there any explanation?

It feels like they finally introduced an interesting Mursaat character after doing Lazarus so dirty, and then immediately offed him to further Zojja's character. That just put a bad taste in my mouth. Especially since we meet Isgarren in the same state and just fix him because he's not on the chopping block RIGHT after.

So I'm asking, legitimately, is there a reason that him, or a wayward NPC, HAS to die to a demon possessing them? Did I miss something? Or did we just not use the Heart to purify those people, just because they were too far gone? Did they write anything about the logistics of this? I'm so frustrated.

I can only guess that they just killed Mabon off for the sake of character development for Zojja and to set her up for her proper lore reason to retire from Main Storyline Character status being she may becomes a major leader of the Wizard's Court near the end of SoO which we know will be something that prevents her from returning to Tyria again if she accepts.

Every other character from Elder Dragon Era all have their retirement plans set up already but Zojja is the only one left without a Main Character Status retirement plan.

They could have done this without killing off Mabon but most of the time killing off a character is also a way for them to end the physical appearance use of the character in the storyline even for lesser cameo appearances.

    -----------

As for death by possession, certain NPCs have been seeing being killed after being possessed when events ends. I am guessing if the demon's influence on the possessed person is far too strong then the demon may end up killing the person as a result if their physical limit is low enough.

Considering this, Mabon may have been near his limit physically with his own possession since he has been fighting it off for a long time mentally already. Isgarren was still not at his physical limit yet despite his mental limit being at the edge.

  9. Relic of the Aristocracy works fine for me for condition currently.

You just need a weapon that can build up Vulnerability to maintain the 5 stacks to maintain that 15% condition duration buff.

So explosive trait tree with any weapons that apply explosive attack will work such as Mace, Grenade kits, mortar kit, and etc

Having finally played through most of the original story I can safely say that I think it's utter garbage. I'm presented with all these characters in our Pact that I think I'm supposed to care about but when they get killed off I just laugh because they die in the most idiotic ways possible.

For example I just did Against the Corruption and there's these two people Crusader Deborah and Tactician Barney or w/e. Deborah almost dies because the guy I was just fighting decided to stop fighting me and went to her, also we all just stood there and watched it happen, then Dinosaur Barney said "noooo not my Deborah" took aggro from the guy, tells Deborah to run away, and then he just dies while Deborah stands there 2 feet away and all the while I can hear my character saying "Adrenaline building!".

This seems to happen a lot in the story, where I just stand there for no other reason than the story demands that someone has to die.

Edit: Just beat the last mission and all I can say is kittenin lololololol. Really? I hop on a cannon and press 1, get off the cannon and move slightly to the right, hop back on and press 1 and boom, the elder dragon that was set to take over the world is now dead! This is just pathetic.

the Zhaitan Arc finale is certainly the most agreed on being one of the most anticlimatic finale in a storyline since early days of GW2 before the Living World and expansion eras. It was actually far worse back during early release days. Even with the adjustments to the final fight against Zhaitan added through certain updates, it is still considered one of the most anticlimatic final boss fights.

You have no clue u are talking about.  i suggest read more carefully the entire history of radio technology.

Also i hate the dinosaurs( https://slate.com/culture/2020/04/dinosaurs-sitcom-where-to-start-watching-hurling-day.html ) , or the flinstones( https://pt.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Flintstones ) with passion, even when i was a child.

Tyria ins't a 20century industrial world. Even that term "civilian life", "military use" make no sense, i will tell a secret: the radical separation between military and civilian life is something of the modern american culture.

The flinstones sindrome: everyone is an American even in the paleolithic: everyone has a job, a salary, a time to get home and a boss to account for,  traffic jams.

Yes I know the concept of radio was first invented by Guglielmo Marconi but that was the concept. I'm talking about the shift in used by the Military until after world war 1 when it started to be introduced to civilian life in a much large scale after.

There is a interesting article about the invention of radios if you're interested.

    Thats so dumb lol.

I have to deal with dumb ppl looking at cel in a elevator, now they think its a big deal bring it to a game.

or even worse, read ppl with poor knowledge of history on no clue about time, making paralels with real life tech progression.

I think you need to separate your personal life experience with people using cellphones a bit. I cannot say what kind of life you have with people around you but everyone have different experiences between certain things so we cannot expect people, even in this game, behavior in similar manors as people we know in our lives.

NPCs are just characters living their life dealing with whatever is being introduced into the world of Tyria. We just happen to be seeing the events where their technology is shifting over time.

Either way, we are not at the "boom" stage yet of specific technology becoming suddenly wanted by the majority that can afford it which is why the Communication device the Commander and a select few have are still very limited. It may take a bit more years before someone may take interests in this technology as well. Heck, Jade tech, as a example, is already in core tyria regions now but the people living there still do not have much need for them despite a small amount of Jade tech consoles installed in the major cities now.

I think GW2 most refrain from more "tech advance" its becoming cringey.

its amusing they struggling to advance a simple radio communicator while they are already able to communicating using holograms and invent teleports!

    https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Connecting_the_Pieces

It is probably the result of people being too use to something in their daily life, they may find it hard to change to something new.

The military side of GW2 advancement with technology forced the characters to start adapting to the newer technology faster to better counter the growing threats of the Elder Dragons. As a result they design their buildings, transportations, and etc to be compatible by design.

Civilian life wise, there is no real urgency to start incorporating these new systems even when they become introduced for civilian life use. Not to mention the work it will require to adjust certain locations for using these technology more frequently. They will literally have to rebuild or install specific systems into every single building that originally were not designed to be compatable with these new technology which is basically the majority of all buildings in Tyria.

  13. This is lore discussion involving SoO lore below. You are WARNED!

    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

So after years of questioning where the Sceptor of Orr went we now know where it is.

The Scepter of Orr is in Wizard's Tower kept in a highly secure vault to keep people from getting corrupted by it's voices. Livia left it there after she secretly joined this secret order of wizards. Livia is currently in SoO helping with keeping the Sceptor of Orr in check since the Demon invasion has made its influence stronger.

(((Asura))) and their "technology" completely ruined the entire guild wars franchise. End of story.

Depends on the person after all.

For GW2, we always started GW2 at the turning point of technology advancement ever since the Zhaitan arc.

The civilizations in Tyria had to shift their methods of fighting Elder Dragons fast which lead to the new technology advancements created by the Pact.

Like a good amount of daily things we have for civilian life, most of it started as military use only. The literal Internet and long range communications devices we have today such as radios and phones for our own life started out as Military exclusive technology until it slowly began being added into civilian life. The long range radio we got before SoO was limited to a select few because it allowed communication faster among those who needed to react to military actions against Elder Dragons. The improved Prototype more Cellphone like Communication Device we have now is still limited to the Commander and a select few due to being in prototype stage. As a result the majority still used Mail sent by Messenger Birds for long range communications and only a select few people communicated with the commander through the Communication Device.

The migration of military use only to civilian daily life is not something instantly as well since GW2 also follow a normal time advancement. The amount of time that pass in our world is the same amount of time that pass in GW2 world as shown through the timeline of GW2.

We are basically living through the moments in GW2 world when certain technology gets invented and seeing it slowly being added into civilian life. Thus seeing the shift from older technology to newer technology as time progress instead of a stagnated setting most series would stick with.

Of course most series stick to Stagnated settings because it is easier to maintain a specific theme to their series such as pure fantasy or pure scifi without needing to account for advancement in technology as things move forward. Normally using the reason being the current civilizations see no need for advancement in technology due to "etc" providing everything already or they see Technology advanced enough so no new development needs to be "added" in their current setting no matter how much time passes.

  15. This is about the expansion lore so there will be some spoilers mentioned below. You have been WARNED!

    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Well Tyria finally got their own version of Cellphones thanks to Taimi side work during her stay in Cantha. It is not at the stage of Mass Production since we are just in the introduction stage of this improved Communication Device designed to be Tyria's version of the Cellphone so currently only a select few have these experimental Communication Devices.

Like most technology invented during X and Y time, it is most likely going to eventually spread into common day utility. Heck, Jade bots are now used in the Core regions cities now and Jade Bot consoles already been established as one example.

What do you think of this advancement in Tyria's technology?

For me I was wondering how long until they reach this point since we already had the radio communication device Taimi originally gave us which was basically a walkie talkie.

It is also a bit funny seen Rytlock being a Boomer trying to learn how to use a Cellphone since he grew up in the time when communication devices this advance was not invented yet.

    "all left over side plots"

So... it concluded the Purists? And the Raisu Palace risen stuff? Empress Ihn's visit to Tyria? Cho-Mo taking his jadetech business outside of Cantha? Or even the Speakers and their willingness to return to ecoterrorism if jadetech isn't cleaned up properly?

It only concluded two side stories: Rama's love life, and Cantha's energy crisis. Four if you count the continuation of Gorrik becoming an official detective and Aurene going to sleep (though the Aurene one wasn't really necessary). That was barely a quarter of the number of side plots remaining.

And that's just about Cantha, not to talk about the side plots left open by HoT, S3, PoF, S4, and IBS that remain untouched.

I was talking about the side plots that was more present in the Main storyline being the Rama love life and Cantha energy Crisis.

The other side plots was just easy to miss side stories unless players really explore Cantha so I am not surprised they skipped over it for future content. Most likely between Expansion story plots.

A lot of the HoT, S3, PoF, S4, and IBS side plots are also mostly just progressing slowly over time as well whenever Anet decides to bring them up again. Most of the time when they do pop up, the progress is mostly about off screen events the NPCs just describe to us what happened.

Not every single plot need to be about the Commander being directly there to influence and conclude it directly after all. Like every story, it is a world with many stories but the Main Character cannot be present in all of them since the majority happens during the sametime as the Main Character's story. Thus the Main Character can only be present for a few when he/she cross paths into those stories while progress his/her own story.

Agree that there must be some story and narrative without gameplay involved , but don't tell me the last story part was ok , me checking boxes , gather flowers , remember this old character (who the hell is Vlast , ah yes the flying chicken who had 30 sec screen in the whole story and who act as morgan freeman offvoice when something occur we don't understand) , you are a commander who killed x dragons , butchered a god , killed (not really) a thousand year old lich , and now gather flowers and boxes for who the hell even care , thats very underporductive character narrative devellopement , i felt like a poor little thing who just took critical emotional damage who one shot me , while in pof and season 4 my character was a freaking bad*ss.

Last part is 95% narrative and story and remembrance (pressing F to check something is no gameplay) and 5% combat , and bad combat ... last boss deal barely any damage , you press 1 button to make it leave for almost 20 sec... and to kill it , you have to go trough mechanics that don't involve any of your class chracteristics , it could be done naked with a woodplank.... ok story need to be easy , but that easy ... almost an insult to me.

The Epilogue story chapter involving the Oni demon was certainly more a "slap together last minute" storyline. It is basically something very rushed to conclude all left over side plots in one go so they can jump right into the clean slate storyline set after Elder Dragon Saga since we are meant to dive into things beyond GW1 locations going forward.

The 1st iteration of every gyros were not Well skills that follow you, but pet-summon-to-do-something skill, like guardian's Spirit Weapon and Renegade's Kalla Legend stance., They're pretty much scrappers commanding the small gyro that fly over their shoulder to do something for a duration, they then became targetable units with health and no defiance bar... so they are very, very, prone to any kind of CC, which was very much the most complained of the skills at the time.

Shredder and Purge used to summon gyro to spin/cleanse at target location. If they were CC or/and killed before the duration ended, they're instantly explode, doing ignorable damage

Blast used to summon a bomb-attached gyro at YOUR location, it then ran toward your target at the speed of OOC character in swiftness.... and yes it had pathing issues like every pets in the game. not to count that ANY cc will disable it and make it exploded at lower damage with no stun at all.

The best out of the bunch was Bulwark Gyro since it took 33% damage on behalf of 5 allies in its AoE, it tends to die very fast tho since its HP is very limit.

Edit : Forgot to mention Sneak, it summoned a VISIBLE gyro that follow scrappers around and grant stealth in AoE. it used to have a very big duration, like 30s stealth, but the gyro flew slower than players with swiftness and have a bit of delay on following scrappers' location so you ended up walking > pause for gyro to follow > walk when using it in most contents. It was also useless in PvP/WvW because, you know, enemy could see the fricking gyro

and oh, when any gyro was on the field, the small one on your shoulder vanished, very cool role-play design on that.

Now a day, it's you small gyro on the shoulder doing everything in a circle around you.

I know that since I played GW2 since day one even played on day one of HoT.

I am talking about the Announcement trailer which had the Gyros function much differently from how we got it during the early days of HoT when it was just minions.

Scrapper, from the announcement trailer, appeared to have a much different function than the Minion summon function it had on HoT release where the Gyros will hover around the Scrapper instead but it was changed at some point during development before release to what we got in HoT. What the original Alpha development function of Gyros was we will never know due to how it was changed during development.

scrappers used to be able to press F when targeting a downed ally/enemy and resurrect/finish them from 1000 unit range while still retaining F5 toolbelt.

it was later changed into the F5 we all know today.

not to mention we see in the trailer the Scrapper was using the drones differently than they started in hoT.

We can see the Drone hovering around the scrapper for some kind of unknown function we never got on full release since it was just development stage Scrapper being shown.

  20. Shortbow Mechanist.

I use to play Power Holosmith but I have been looking for something more focus on condition damage builds since I really enjoy Pistol weapons in games though wish the Pistol goes through some adjustments.

Shortbow is one of the weapon types I have been waiting for a long time and I do hope it can provide new options for condition builds.

Now they just need to add a new Elite Spec that can provide more options to condition builds since so far Scrapper and Holosmith is more Power damage focus Elite specs while Mechanist is a Elite Spec that allows players to spec into Power, Condition, or Support.

If they add a Elite Spec in the future that allows Engineer to change and adjust their Main Weapon skills based on what Adept, Master, and Grandmaster traits they choose this may open up some potentially interesting things for Engineer since as a Engineer we should have the talent to modify even our own Weapons in unique ways.

Not at all. As I mentioned, I expect that once the Commander and Gorik learned to train the first offspring of the original skyscales, the information (and stock) spread quickly, leading to them being used elsewhere. Advances spread and get adopted.

Also, as stated, I know I miss lore things as I play through. I'm still not convinced "Oh, Joon had some Asura treatises" isn't pretty much a hand-wave to catch Jade tech up with, and even surpass, Asura tech, but it's something I missed and I'm glad people have brought it up.

So.... maybe I misunderstoood, but what I took from the skyscale story as presented is that sksycales manifesting out of the mists into the material world was a unique occurence from Kralk and Aurene punching in and out of the mists. From there, Gorrik and the Commander are the first to figure out how to raise and train the first generation of offspring. A unique byproduct of a dangerous time turned out to a be a beneficial thing with the work of a genius and a dynamic person.

It doesn't diminish this story in the least if people then go on to adopt riding skyscales from there. What does seem like it would diminish the story is if another culture has been pulling skyscales out of the mists all along and riding them around.

Like, tell me you discovered some mould growing on your window-sill actually has revolutionary powers to combat bacterial infections in humans! And I'm like, yeah, dude, Fleming figured that 95 years ago, and you can go down to the Walgreens and get yourself some antibiotics when you need it. Woohoo?

They mentioned already, by the new dialogues for NPCs in Kessex Hill, that it was common for Isgarren to travel out of Wizard tower for supplies and keep up with current events outside of Wizard tower.

It will be no surprise if he started to incorporate the Skyscales during the 4 years since their creation. Keep in mind, 4 years have passed since the creation of Skyscales which should have been enough time for Isgarren to incorporate the Skyscales into his organization. Other organizations and even citizens started to incorporate Skyscales as well either for transportation, pets, and etc as we seen over time.

  22. I would suggest any Warrior Elite spec since it is the weapon master profession.

With the limit or weapons being restricted to Elite Spec being removed, it will start living up to the core day design of being the weapon master of the game so options for creativity will increase greatly with Berserker and Spellbreaker.

If the staff weapon end up being treated as a Spear (something that has been speculated for a long time due to how they introduce Spear skins to staffs years ago), it maybe a interest choice to prepare in advance.

That's a very good point - time passes in Tyria at a roughly equal rate to real life. During the personal story airships and hard light holograms were new inventions, a few years later they were...well not exactly common, it's still only governments and dedicated organisations like the Aetherblades who have airships, but they're more widespread and varied than they were and it wouldn't be surprising for one to show up in the story.

War Eternal took place in 1332 AE, the Wizard's Tower disappeared in 1336 AE, so there's been 4 years for skyscales to spread and breed in Tyria and probably in the Mists as well. Which means the Astral Ward using them as mounts, even raising their own, doesn't have to pre-date the commander's first enounter with them or change the law about how they were discovered.

I think that is one of the things people forget to account for sometimes when looking at current lore.

Time for when certain things happened before current events is the important part when accounting for why things are now. We experience alot of times the moment when something is "created" or "invented" and as the story progress, we also see how more commonly used they become over the years storyline wise as well. The things we see during the Zhaitan arc, such as airships and certain other technologies such as the improved Combat Suit Golems, when they were recently invented are seen as more standard tools now as well in current events even for daily life use.

The Skyscales being more common to normal life now is one of those aspects in lore since 4 years has passed which gives plenty of time for certain people and organizations to start using them as standard travel mounts. Not to mention maybe have them as pets since they are probably easier to manage compared to certain animals a person can choose as a pet.
