  1. I have quite a few toons but only 2 with expanded inventory, 1 with all bag slots & I have 1 bag bigger than 20. I did invest in all shared slots though. I just use an invisible/strongbox to start stacks of things like unidentified gear then deposit, salvage all blue/green then rare then sell junk when I pass a vendor. If I need to find something search using the 1st few letters usually works. Since unidentified gear came out I haven't had an issue, before that it was more of a chore.

    This.

Why must a casual festival event be dominated by the few veterans who solely pursue gold/hour, all the way down to what other players should choose their class or gear their characters? Keep in mind that when it comes to the boss battles, it's also mostly the engineers pulling their weight while a shortbow thief is practically leeching.

I also disagree with the new player experience, as new players don't set up their character to maximize loot rate, but instead come to the labyrinth to enjoy quick leveling their character and masteries. Slowing down on each gate event would be the last thing on their wishlist.

And most importantly, the way how op described how the game should be played, is seriously devoid of fun.

I said I nerfed myself.  There is a difference between maximizing loot & a few players killing the majority of the mobs. New players in this scenario can't get the xp or loot & at that aren't likely to have fun either. Sorry if being considerate of those around ruins your fun.

  3. I already ditched it for my node farm. Focused I can pull 15+ gold/hr doing that but it's something I enjoy.

Above stated fun & even new players. It seems the fun of a few outweighs the squad. As for new players it is like event dailies on lower maps, I doubt they will enjoy chasing a com only to be able to tag the bigger spawns.

I just noticed this as part of a shift in the community. When I started through around pof higher level/mastery players were nothing but helpful. It felt like the goal was pushing for the experience of all.  There were always a few that didn't pay attention or cooperate but it seems that is the norm now & with certain additions to the game those players can have a greater impact. Same as developer decisions can drive off players, so can a community.

  4. Yesterday I found a really nice farm where players listened & stuck with the com. I spent about an hour & left with a few stacks of bags. Today every farm I was able to join had mechs & turtles even after com would ask for only auto. I spent about an hour & left with less than a stack of tot bags. I nerf my build but run a short bow thief so tagging shouldn't be an issue. I don't understand selfishly playing an mmo especially how loot drops in gw2.

  5. I can see how this would be frustrating & sometimes can even be a problem for vets. There have been times I've had a hard time tagging events for the daily. I play those maps a lot & if playing along side low levels I try to wait till they tag to attack, tag an event then move on or mostly buff others (depending on the class I'm using). I've been messing with engi lately & usually run with my jade mech put away.

Spoken like someone who plays the game, none of this information is available to new players, stop viewing this game from a 'I played this game for 10 years and know exactly what I'm getting' to a 'What the hell is this, why is this a $100? Why can I not get a refund? What is this Living world thing? What do I need? Is this optional? Nevermind I'll play something else instead.

You aren't wrong but if you read through the steam forum topics on price it's mentioned repeatedly.  Vets explaining are written off as shills or fanboys.

In game seems to be different, I've even learned stuff from chat that I didn't know or forgot.

The mail block is to prevent gold sellers.

The bots?  Report and move on.

I don't think there is any point to report as anet doesn't do anything. I've been reporting the same players for well over a year including sending a vid showing a stack of naked engineers, 5 toons in the same spot with almost the same name & several necros running against the wall yet they are all still there. Same spots doing the same thing every day. At any time there is roughly 18+ in blazeridge stepps alone.

Currently on steam afk has been brought up several times arguing that the cost of expansions are high.

  8. I don't think they care. There are a few spots where it's obvious. A stack of about 6 asura engi with no gear, a group of 5 necro with almost the same name & both have been there over a year even after reports. 5 or so running against a wall on/off for weeks.

I've decided I'm not spending money on this game till fixed.
