  1. The proposed changes aren't needed as I understand them.I am a dedicated long time wvw player and havoc commander. I am in five guilds, I use the rep of the different guilds to achieve different things while playing. I often will switch rep depending on the location I intend to capture as some of my guilds are fully built out regarding wvw buffs etc. and others aren't and are only good for claiming a camp. But the point is that the majority of the players in the guilds I can rep are also able to rep most of those same guilds I'm in. We use the guild system to build alliances already within the present server based system.I have played on several different servers, BG, CD, and a couple others my addled Charr mind can't remember , but ended up back on CD a couple years ago and have since stayed. As did many of my guild friends who were also chasing the prize of "better combat/competition" and such. I now find that I'm much more interested in creating a cooperative community of guilds on our server. Myself and many others (I don't speak for the server) on CD aren't chasing the stars, to be on tier one, no I believe that we seek to play well and enjoy the game. As such we deal with the wvw hand we're dealt and roll with it. Zergs come and go, we fight on. I'm not dissatisfied with the present system. I don't think the proposed changes are really geared to the dedicated wvw players. Also to be considered is how the vocoms will be dealt with due the the mixing and such?
  2. If this new idea for wvw is implemented, it will lead to factions and power guilds having control over "their" server. I don't believe this will be good for game play and smaller guilds who want to wvw in an environment where they have some control due to knowing long time players and guilds who are present, or the glue that the server provided as an identity. When I was on other servers, as I am now again for over 2 or more years on CD, my identity was more with the server than with which guild I was rep'ing. Of course my guilds mean a lot, as do the friends/players. Yet it has always, in the end been, the server which provided the core pride in my wvw activities. I'm apprehensive of the impending factionalization* and power guild structures that will be the result of these proposed changes. As such the ideas suggested by Anet are more than disruptive to how server based wvw has been working, with it's flaws so far, they will indeed fracture the fabric of the community of players. I believe this is the incorrect path to take regarding wvw.
  3. This is my opinion, gut reaction, and I speak here for myself.I'm not sure that this system will achieve some of the concerns wvw players have regarding balance. I look at this and think of some random egg beater mix of players and guilds matched up against a similar mixture. No more server pride, albeit that our server CD isn't a powerhouse, but that isn't the point. We longtime wvw players on CD, I think, want to play well, and that is paramount over ranking and balance. We as a server have been plucky, hard fighters, knowing the situation. Do we strive to be ranked in tier 1? I don't think so. I think we on CD strive to show that a mid ranked server can at times be dangerous. Many of our players are dedicated and work with the hand they are dealt. The play in wvw is often challenging and that makes for better players. We don't have the Zerg mentality. We are CD wvw fighters.Graf - a havoc commander from CD.
