  1. I guess if anyone wants to upvote this BlishHud module to support in-game wiki browser, that would be great, https://github.com/blish-hud/Blish-HUD/discussions/823
  2. @Healix.5819gotcha, if you have a GW2-styled browser overlay suggestion, I would not mind using that
  3. @khorren.3702ok but I am sure there are ways to lock it down/make it more secure
  4. @Healix.5819 How do you redirect the BLTC to display whatever website? Didn't know that functionality was possible.
  5. @mythical.6315 Breaks immersion of the amazing world. Running 2 monitors is more of a band-aid solution. Also what @Serephen.3420 said
  6. I would love to hear the community's opinion on this but I would love to finally get in-game wiki support! Please
  7. @Kalavier.1097 Yes THAT IS AWESOME! that would be so cool! How do we escalate this so Anet notices? Anet are you seeing this?
  8. I think even getting a letter after 100% completing an area and getting a lore letter about that area would be good enough.
  9. @Zellnotronus.2890 What about just adding more lore books or after completing an area, being given some flavor text about the area? That way broad areas could be talked about without addressing every POI.
  10. Any really good fan fiction out there that the community recommends
  11. @itspomf.9523 I like this a lot, how do we bubble this up for the devs? I really want them to consider something like this
  12. What would be the best way to work with ANet to bubble this up to developers? Been trying to find the best way?
  13. I just love the lore in this game and wish to learn more about it. I thought lore books was a great move in this regard and I think some work around POI and areas would be another move in the right direction.
  14. Thank you for the reasonable response here. Took this post in Reddit and people were so salty. Like I was insulting them or something by complaining.
  15. I don't know what is the best way for ANet to see this but I think it would be amazing if there could be some flavor text or lore added to the areas or points of interest to the maps. Like why were certain places named the way they were. ANet has already done an amazing job with adding lore books, thank you! If you could just add the above, that would be super cool. Here: https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Kessex_Hills.. For example, why is there an area called Earthlord's Gap? Is there an actual Earthlord, who or what is it? What is Mock's Niche? Who is Mock? https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Mock%27s_Niche Just a couple of examples where some flavor text upon discovering a new area or completing exploring an area would be helpful
  16. @Inculpatus cedo.9234 ok that makes sense, do you know what is the best performing app that would allow me to do in-game browsing of the wiki, GW2 PAO?
  17. I am just asking Anet to revisit their original vision for their game: "Beyond communication, we’re exploring features that allow out-of-game friends to help in-game friends by locating places or items. Additionally, we will have a much tighter system for accessing and consuming wiki content. This will greatly reduce the need to continuously jump out of the game to access web sites for information.", http://web.archive.org/web/20110208131919/http://www.arena.net/blog/gaming-outside-the-game-rick-ellis-talks-the-guild-wars-2-extended-experience
  18. @Kulvar.1239 To clarify, when I say immersion breaking, I am referring to having to leave the game to find more information about the game. Seeing the browser information in-game would not be a huge issue because you would not need to leave the game.
  19. That would show wiki info* (not pull in)
  20. @Konig Des Todes.2086 yup that's what I meant @Khisanth.2948 When I mean immersion breaking, I mean having to be pulled away from the game to do a search on something. I have tried Overwolf and used its browser overlay but it was slow and cumbersome (it may have been something on how I set it up). But I think the bigger question to ask is why does Anet rely on 3rd party software to provide a better experience to their players. Surely, I cannot be the only player to realize that having all game information in an external wiki is a rather lazy way to document in-game info. I think an in-game browser optimized and built by Anet that would pull in wiki info would be a much better experience.
  21. In-game wiki that would show up in a book format would be AMAZING! I feel having to pop out of game to check a browser is a terrible/sloppy experience and it is a shame too because it breaks the immersion of such a beautiful game.
  22. Are there any talks of having an in-game wiki? I really do believe having to go outside of the game to check wiki in a browser breaks the immersion of such a beautiful game and it's a shame. It would be awesome to have the in-game wiki show up like a book. Perhaps this could be something that Anet could work on with their wiki community? Anything? Thanks.
  23. I saw this on the wiki: "In addition, an ArenaNet blog post has stated that there will be "a much tighter system for accessing and consuming wiki content. This will greatly reduce the need to continuously jump out of the game to access web sites for information." Specifics haven't been revealed.", any updates as to when we might see this. It would be a game changer. Thanks.
