Veteran player looking for a guild [NA] [Mostly PvE]

I've been playing for a while and while I have been in guilds in the past, I never really felt like I actually belonged in them. I suppose me making this thread is an effort in trying to be proactive in finding the right guild for me instead of relying on map chat and word-of-mouth to find the right guild for me.

 

With that out of the way, let me highlight what I'm not looking for first:

 

Mega-guilds: Guilds that need more than one guild slot to fit all of their members really don't do it for me. I have bad social anxiety both offline and online and I'd like to keep it as low as possible.

Tolerance of passive aggressive behavior: I prefer dealing with people who are honest and to the point, even if they happen to be blunt about it.

Guild rep requirements: I like to keep my options open in the event that one guild doesn't happen to fulfill all of my guild needs.

 

Those are really the only three big deal breakers I have regarding guilds. Now, what I am looking for is the following:

 

Smaller guilds: I like more close-knit guilds.

LGBTQIA+ Inclusive: I'm part of this and it would be nice to interact with others (especially those who are of the A part of the acronym, like I am).

Neurodivergent Positive: I'm also part of the Autism Umbrella. It would be nice to interact with fellow neurodivergent folks.

PvE Focused: The main PvE things that interest me are Strike Missions and Dungeons. However, with a bit of patience I'm also willing to give Fractals and even Raids a shot. As always, open world stuff is absolutely loved.

 

Things that aren't a requirement but loved:

Role playing: I love role playing but I haven't had a chance to do it in game. A guild that role plays would be nice to be a part of.

Asura-focused: I have 40+ Asura. I'd like to interact with people who are as enthusiastic about the Asura as I am. 😛

Lore-focused: For all of the gripes I have with the story of the game, I absolutely love the lore. I wouldn't mind a guild that discusses lore, even to go as far as discuss and share headcanons.

WvW: Sometimes I dabble in WvW. I mainly escort dolyaks for reward track progress but for the right tag and right group I'll do other things. Therefore, a fun, laid-back approach to WvW is welcomed.

 

That's it really. Hopefully by posting this I can find a guild I can call home. 🙂

It sounds like you might like my little home. We're called The Gryphons Aerie and we’re a very small, 18+, casual/semi-casual, social and close-knit, PvE family on Tarnished Coast with a leadership krewe made up of entirely of LGBT+ members. As long as you're on a NA-based server, you'll be able to tag along with us in our adventures; we don't do any serious participation in WvsW. Our current peak time tends to be in the mid-late evening EST (UTC-5), starting around reset, but we would love to have others from a variety of other time zones as well to keep the adventures going. We try to have a mix of scheduled events and random things during the week according to what folks want to do. We also love helping both new and returning players get back on their feet.

We’re willing to help out with any and all questions as best as we can, whether it's dungeons/Fractals, builds, and other general game questions. All you need to do is ask.

We also don’t do the “speed runs”, exploits, etc, nor require anyone to bring a specific class or build for any dungeon run. Bring whatever you want and we'll have fun regardless. We gladly teach any content we're doing and take as much time as necessary so that everyone understands when we explain what's going on during the adventure.

We know that RL comes first and stress that fact.
We’ll still be there even if you can’t for a bit of time. Just leave a little note to let us know you'll be away, and all is well.

We do not demand 100% representation.
It’s not our business to tell you who you can and cannot associate with; that choice is yours alone.

We are focused on providing a place where people can feel comfortable and as though they are more than just a name on the roster. We want everyone to feel like family.
We are very LGBTQ+ affirmative and do not tolerate any sort of derogatory words, comments, bigotry etc. toward anyone regardless of nationality, race, religious beliefs, gender identity or sexuality. Anyone violating that policy is subject to immediate removal, no questions asked. We also do our best to accommodate everyone's varying needs whether they have a mental or physical disorder/illness going on.

In order to maintain our "quality vs. quantity" aspect and help build the family-like atmosphere of the guild, we do require an application to be submitted on our forums. While some might consider us to be a larger (we are generally around 480 members at any given time) guild, we pride ourselves in maintaining a close-knit, casual and friendly feel.
