This is more of a report on a mistake by Anet (Not really, but it's still a bad idea how it is now)

In your FAQ it says this:

"Q: If I purchased the Standard Edition of Path of Fire, can I upgrade to Deluxe or Ultimate?

A: You can purchase a digital Deluxe Edition upgrade through the Black Lion Trading Company in-game store. The Ultimate Edition of Path of Fire must be purchased as a complete edition, and the Standard and Deluxe Editions can’t be upgraded to Ultimate."

This is false. You can upgrade on the store, digital version deluxe edition to ultimate for 25 euros. As such, it doesn't have to be purchased standalone.

My mistake, it was just the price difference shown if you already own the deluxe edition. You still have to spend 79,99.

However that's ridiculous who's gonna spend another 80 euros just for 4k gems.

80 euros in the in-game store 6400 gems...

You're not meant to. It's a special bundle offer that includes the deluxe edition with 4k gems at half price, and is intended for those who do not already own the expansion. They have a 30 day refund policy however, so it's possible to "upgrade" to the ultimate within the first 30 days.
