low resolution character models aren’t low enough

The low res character models still show backpacks with full animations and individual glider skins.

This can’t be intended behaviour, since some fancy backpacks have impact on the graphic performance. Low res models also only use standard skins for each mount, not for gliders however, which can also be too fancy.
