Important Note About SotO Pre-Purchase--Take The New Build First If You're Logged In

Hello Guild Wars 2 community! Today we announced that our fourth expansion, Secrets of the Obscure, will launch on August 22! Pre-purchase is available now and includes some pre-purchase bonus items. These items will be added to your game account and we want to be sure that you receive them right away.

We just released a game update that includes the addition of the bonus items to the game files. If you were/are actively logged into the previous build, be sure you update your Guild Wars 2 game client to the latest build before pre-purchasing. If you pre-purchase before updating, the items will not be added to your account properly. This only applies to people actively logged in. If you're offline at the time of purchase, the client will update automatically the next time you launch it so this will not apply to you.

If you pre-purchase while active in the old build, don't worry, we can help! Contact our Customer Support team and they will send your items to you.
