Hello guys I would really appreciate some help. I have a few questions that if answered can really help me on my journey after boosting my their.

So first off, my boosted gear was daggers, I would like to get good pistols but not sure where from? Do I do dungeons or can I buy them? Which would be the best option?

Second how do I earn hero points from being lvl 80? I want to unlock the deadeye and have no idea how to start.

Third , how should I start getting gear in general I am so lost, so much going on I'm not sure where to start.

To answer your second question first.Dead eye comes with Path of Fire. You need to gather heropoints to unlock it. The heropoints in Path of Fire and Heart of Thorns all reward 10 points each, so it goes relative quick. Specially if you peak into the LFG-tool for HP-trains in PoF.

As for gear. There are two acceptable gear types. The most common one is exotic. You can get this fairly easy and cheap. Gearing your character up should not cost more then 50-100 gold when you buy everything on the tradepost. You can build it easily (e.g. first get the gear and then use it to farm the runes and sigils). I think buying or crafting exotic gear is the most speediest way. Dungeon gear is very limited and time consuming due to diminishing returns while you can always get gold somewhere in the game.

The higher level is ascended. This is harder to get by and should be the next step. Most ascended gear must be crafted, The materials are expensive and the crafting is time gated. Some weapons can be gained from doing quests at the end of HoT or for finishing acollection for your elite specialisation (e.g. Deadeye can get the cursed Flintlock ascended weapon: https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Cursed_Flintlock). Trinkets and backpacks can be gained by doing guildmissions and fractals.
