both groups would just run in a circle around each other so it looked like the swirling of a toilet. the meta was like if you get a downed they get insta rezzed by the mercy rune holders. the only way people ever got kills was if the downed got punted into impact strike/shadowstep stomp

Portal bomb meta were used more often in early game where we had something called culling where characters from the enemy team would take to long to load in making them invisible for maybe 5-seconds.
Epidemic meta was one of the worst that i can remember. People ran with necromancers and used epedemic on those having the resistance boon on them making them immune to conditions and spreading conditions to 5 others. Those without the resistance boon got downed instantly.

Also rev mas meta with CoR skills htting past 20k one shotting several people.

Also we had piratship metas with pretty much only ranged classes and guardians for support. CC was more powerfull as you didn't have CD's on stability strips from CC-skills.

And there was Signet_of_Inspiration meta for mesmers gving incredible boon support, just like boonball nowadays.
