The cairns - thanks for a reflective moment

Recommended Posts

I just want to give notice to whoever on the GW2 team designed the look and dialogue of the burial cairns in Lowland Shore. The one kodan kneeling by a grave voicing her pain at someone's passing (I don't know who) stopped me as I was getting Mastery Points. I stood there for a while listening, watching other players whip in and out on their way again.

It's clear of course after standing there for a while that it's just code running, pathed NPCs moving according to prearranged timing, coded dialogue being spoken. And it'd probably be just that for many players. But if you've ever lost someone dear, it feels real up here, just for a minute or two. Someone took the time to consider this little corner of the world and make it meaningful.

Thank you.
