My partner and I just did it. I could only exchange the mining tool, he could exchange all 3. We preordered at the same time(very early on, probably within a day of it becoming available) and opened it upon receit. He used all 3 tools while I only used the 2 I couldn't exchange. I am started to get a bit annoyed now as someone who purchased ultimate and has supported A/Net for a while by getting every expansion at launch.. My 3 alt accounts I took out of the mail and started using them but on my main I just left them in the mail. On my main I took them out a few days ago and put them in my bank. Yesterday I found out about the glyph boxes for those that bought it prior to the 20th, but I don't get the option at the black lion specialist to exchange them. My 3 alt accounts though who opened right away and started using them were able to exchange all of them yesterday. My partner who went to the npc at the same time as me was able to see and swap for ones with glyphs. I tried a full relog, equipping and removing the tools, moving them to a different generic (not invisible) bag.. no change...Very frustrating. I do not have an option to exchange the tools at the tool vendor. I went back to Mukluk's video describing the process and I am sure that there is a problem. I suspect it is related to players that pulled the tools out of the mail later now have this problem. I bought reserved the game the moment it was announced, switched to the tools the moment I got them. Put glyphs on them and used them. I can't see any options to swap at the Black Lion Exchange Specialists I tried. I bought the Ultimate edition and opened my mail when I first received the gathering tools but ended up buying glyphs. Ferus.3165 Posted September 4 Share Posted September 4 there was an oversight when anet gave people the glyph boxes for the deluxe edition. They put glyph boxes in the deluxe package you could buy but forgot that you could exchange those tools for even more glyphs. Then when they realised their error they quickly fixed it by apparently removing the option to trade the tools at the special merchant for all those who took those tools out of their mailbox from that point of time. Anyone who would buy the tools later would now not have the ability to trade those tools in to get even more glyphs but those who didn't take them out of the mail and preordered before anet made the change to introduce glyphs into the deluxe edition are left with 0 glyphs right now because they too cannot exchange their tools for tools with glyph boxes anymore. Put in a ticket, which was closed and I was told to "watch the forums", then asked to rate the support I received. I took the tools from my mail weeks before launch, because they look cool. But have been trying to exchange them since a couple of days after launch, which was the first chance I had time to play after it, and they'd already seemingly disabled the exchange by then. I do not like the response from the GM telling us to watch the forums and closing our ticket. No resolution has been made, our issues still remain. I have not seen ANET representation in this thread, so it appears we are just here to complain to each other while "something is being looked at". Perhaps the more responses we receive on this thread, the more widespread it will become apparent to the team in order for them to take further action. EDIT: I happened to be online when support sent me an email, after a bit of confusion of only receiving 1 glyph choice box, a second message came in with 2 additional ones. It seems to me that they have either two options: Support sends the glyphs in mail to each person experiencing the problem. They update the game to correctly handle the people who opened their mails late. The patch today doesn't seem to include a fix like this. It's not a good look. There are people running around who abused a bug and got 2 sets of glyph's while others, who are loyal customers having purchased early in the pre-purchase period, are getting messed around. Do I have to keep checking the forums daily to wait for a resolution? Are support going to mail me when the problem is resolved because they seem to have closed my ticket? If there is a game patch that fixes the problem will I be stuck in the same boat if I don't claim the item quick enough because it gets changed at the vendor again? I was pretty disappointed yesterday that the update didn't solve the problem again after almost two weeks. This morning I had a message ingame from support with 3 glyph boxes. Finally.
