Bittercold Story Quest Bug

I am unable to brew the thaw elixir despite having the required items with sufficient quantities, any advice? The brewing pot just goes "i am not ready....."

Maybe you haven't finished the story to unlock the recipe, as you're unable to make it until that story chapter is done.

Also, beware that there's several bugs regarding brewing the elixer. If enemies interrupt you, or you thought you had sufficient ingredients but didn't, it creates some problems you need to be aware of (like removing ingredients from your inventory).

Hmm, i am actually at the part after the elixir but i stopped playing the game for awhile so my buff ran out. I now i am trying to brew it again to enter the bittercold area

Please read the Wiki notes. If you let the buff run out you have to restart the storyline.

I've verified that I have sufficient materials to craft another elixir. I logged off earlier this afternoon after dying a couple times to the mobs in the area. I've logged back in and am unable to craft another one as well. Switching between story chapters does nothing. How to I reset the quest? This seems like a huuge bug! I'm unable to venture through the environmental hazard or craft another elixir!

I found a work around!

Thanks to a commander in zone chat, I was able to have her craft her own elixir, then I used teleport to a friend to melt the frozen waterfall.

Once that was unfrozen, she brought me into her story instance and I got the achievement and the story completion.
