Chat Filter is preventing me from whispering items to myself

I just got a dye pack for a character birthday and was previewing the dyes, whispering myself the dye links.

I got suppressed for excessive messaging.

What the heck? In the past, whispers to myself were never suppressed. I'm so confused.

I think this happen when you're repeating the same thing too often. You probably linked yourself other items and the game see it as spamming the same thing over and over. If i remember right, you can just write something else in between to avoid it.

That's what you get for spamming yourself. It was clearly on a level to become annoying. You should thank ANet for saving yourself from that. Or report yourself for spamming. Or both...

Sarkasm aside, I am surprised the spamfilter triggers when messaging yourself. Then again, it never seemed like the game made a difference between whispering yourself and whispering someone else.

ANet said that they didn't consider this when they built the filter, because it didn't occur to them someone would whisper themselves repeatedly like this.

So, it just counts outbound whispers to the same destination, no exception for "yourself".

I don't recall if they said they were going to change it or not, but I suspect they probably will.

The "Order of Whispers", is up to its old tricks again.... suppressing excessive whispering! =D

You can preview locked dyes from your Dye Hero Panel. Might be easier.
