I'm not complaining about the complaints. I'm just responding to address your complaints. I am a customer of ANET too and I'm happy with the changes. So now we're at an impasse. The only difference is I'll get my way because that's the status quo.

They're simply providing a way to offset that in a different gear slot whereas they didn't in the past. You're literally better off." Notice how I said they provided a way to offset that in a different gear slot. The better-off part is now you can choose the effect separate from runes and are no longer locked into fixed stats. The Runes are nerfed. But overall you're better off. Get it now?

Yet for some reason, you're the one that continues to argue with me when you're the one who's not happy with the changes and I'm OK with the status quo.

And I'm a customer who did find the relic changes acceptable. Now what? Arguing with me isn't going to magically make what you want a reality. If you can't even convince other customers like me why would ANET cater to you?

Unless you're a BA or have any Product Management experience your opinions on what constitutes a good business decision are irrelevant. Obviously, ANET has such people and they've made the decisions they made for a reason.

The bottom line, general design decisions aren't made around fringe cases. There's a reason why airplane seats aren't designed for people over 1000 pounds.

You keep trying to compare it with theft when you don't own anything in GW2. MMOs are like theme parks. You pay for access. No one ever promised you Runes would never change. Wrong. taking into consideration isn't the same as focusing on that thing. A car company may take into consideration that someone might go 160 mph with their car but they're not going to design their car around going 160 mph all the time.

No one put a gun to your head to buy all those characters. The default number is only 5. Expecting ANET to make general game-balancing decisions that affect everyone based on your fringe sensibilities is asinine to the extreme.

It's an MMO. No promises were made to you that nothing would change or that everything will stick around forever. Every single balance patch takes away things and adds things to other places. Wrong. They gave you 5 character slots by default in a paid account. You have the option to get up to 69 character slots which are behind a paywall. It wouldn't be behind a paywall if ANET actually expected you to go up to 69 characters. YOU are the one that made yourself the fringe case. Blaming ANET for that is asinine.

Again, you don't remotely represent the vast majority of the player base. Making design and balance decisions that effects everyone around fringe cases like yours is not reasonable. You'll just have to make adjustments. I have 32 characters. I'm perfectly fine making the adjustments necessary. I'll only be annoyed if it turns out that relics are prohibitively expensive but it's not a deal breaker.

No, you are still completely missing the point. *No promises were made to you by ANET that you won't spend currency ever again on ANYTHING, just nothing more on runes which still holds true. *No promises were made to you by ANET that they won't ever modify runes or remove effects from them. *No promises were made to you by ANET that they won't ever create a new equipment slot that just so happens to have the effects removed from said runes. You have expectations of things that were never promised. How hard is this to understand?

How much of the player base has 73 characters and multiple builds for each of them? That's a ridiculous hypothetical. Such a fringe case isn't relevant when it comes to making general balancing decisions.

With all these talks of runes, I have to point out that exotic jewels are a thing. It's possible that they may be a sleeper hit in the expansion because they provide more raw stats compared to many rune setups. 6 exotic ruby jewels may be a preferable alternative to 6 runes of the scholar for certain builds if you have the damage increase effect in the relic.
