  1. So first of, Taco will most definitely be fine. It does not interact with the actual Game in any way and only uses Data from the GW2 API with Anet provides themself so if they didn't want someone to use it they could just pull the plug on there end. What's got me a bit worried though is the following section from the new Policys:
  2. Casual was probably the wrong word (that's why i put it in quotation marks) . What i meant are players that dont have a guild, friends or a regular group to play with and often don't even want any of that for what ever reason, mostly a lag time. I get if people want a fast an clean run but often enough i see LFG groups asking for 250kp and apparently waiting 30min.+ for someone to join. Why do all these groups have so much time to do literally nothing but can't be burdened with a few potential wipes with a less experienced player. In my experience most people are very understanding if you ask them to leave after it's clear they are not up to the task, but at least they got a chance to try and often enough it even works out.
  3. KPs are the reason we're so rarely getting any new content. Anet sees that only a fraction of the players are doing fracal CMs at all, even fewer on a regular basis so they don't think it's worth dedicading resources to. The KP situation is scaring people away from even attemting them, not just because they can't find a group but because it makes them look much harder then they actually are. I also dont think it's valide to, say new players should: "just join a training run" or "get a guild" and "good players shouldn't have to carry bad players" as you could just aswell say "if you dont want to deal with bad player, YOU should be the one looking for a guild or static group". The LFG tool was made for more "casual" player but lately the "250+ kp" crowd had comply taken over to the point where normal people cant even get a standard T4 daily without having at least 100 kp because may players without any stoped doing fracals at all. The community has split into two camps "the KP people" and the "to bad to bother with people" where the latter dont even want to play with each other anymore and rater quit all together. I'm glad KPs are gone and they should even go further with it. It's KPs (LI) that killed strikes recently, folling in the footsteps of raids that came before them. They should remove as many KP typ items as Possible and the game should focus more on building communitys around this type of content to mitigate the need to artificially filter people and encourage playing with people you know.
  4. The Devs have added some tutorial achievements a while back and while i think this is a great idea, they are quit hidden in the UI and mostly just "plinging away" in the background as players complete them without even noticing what just happend. There is a lot of room to improve these in my opinion. Move them from a Subcategory in "General" to their own tab in the Achievement Panel, right above even you Daily Achievements, to improve their visibility.Poke new players with the nose into them. Either by force opening the panel and/or with Blinking Popups and Tooltips, like the ones that tell f2p players to buy PoF.Expand the Achievements with new Tiers and add new Achievements for conditions, boons, CC & breakbars, stunbreaks, dodgeing, AoEs etc.Add explanations to the Achievement Text. Insted of just "participate in 5 events" have it also say something like "Dynamic events occur in a persistent area as a result of players interacting with and exploring the world. They are called "dynamic" because there are multiple outcomes that also result in new events, creating a cascade effect." (wich is litterly just first paragraph i copy&pasted from the wiki article on events.) Basically turning it into a bit of a Glossary.Give people more opportunities and insentive to use what they have learned by addressing some of the powercreep and make "autoattacking you way to lvl. 80" a less valide strategy. The laz... "lowest effort" way to address at least some of the problems is to send new players to the just published new player guide with some kind of ingame mail or popup, again just like it's done to get them to buy the expansion. I know there is a Button like that in the Launcher now but it's very small and i'm sure most people haven't even noticed it so MAKE IT BIGGER <-- like this. Also the launcher could tell playes about many things like ingame events or relevant news like many other games do it but thats a whole different topic all together.
  5. So, heres a little story...i just had to reinstall my OS i have set up all the important software like security, browsers, office, voip & chat, etc. then i came to the point "ok, time to install some games. Let's download GW2" but then i paused for a second thought to myself "wait, do i really even need that?" Why? please, why did you make me ask that do myself? For all these Years this game was a number one go to for me but now i dont even know if i still want to go through the hassle of installing it again because all i do is loging in for a few seconst every now and than anyway. Don't get me wrong i don't want to be one of thouse "The game is trash" guys, i dont think it is but today, for the first time after many many reinstalls i hat to ask myself if i still need this game and i dont ever what do have to ask myself that question again, so please do something so that question isn't even on the table anymore. What i would make me do that are thinks like: A core overhaulQuicker and faster balanceNew raidsNew fractals (especially with CMs)More content in generalAn expansion packWhat will not make me do that are: Gemstore SkinsGemstore CapesGemstore MontsDid i mention Gemstore Stuff?Don't get me wrong, i have no problem with spending money on a game i like, sadly, i'm just not sure if that the case anymore :(I didn't want this to be a rant but i just had to get this off my chest. I'm sorry but i know i'm not the only one feeling this way.
