    Honestly, I think the game is so well balance that any class with the right build can solo champions.

    When I look at the harvesting tools I do look at what other benefits it can give me. I know that you can actually get some Volatile Harvesting Sickle in-game, as well as Unbound Harvesting Sickle, instead of buying them in the gem store. So you could try, without the real-world purchase.

    There are a couple of ranged class that comes to mind - The Elementalist does healing really well with the Water skills to heal is what comes to mind.

    Yeah - but not everyone is a Mesmer. There are other ways to make gold.
