  1. Then they should be higher than veteran NPC. Buff them to be equal of fighting a player.
  2. I don't think that's true at all, mind hitting me up with some source/explanation for that claim? :D That is fair, bad analogy. I will take the hit and will say I was incorrect in claiming that. I was not saying that it never changed but nothing to the point we are the test subjects of what to me is more like a beta status. why not a test server prior? Well, I don't understand how you can claim you've been here for 7 years, had some thing you didn't like about the game and yet never bothered to make a single post about it, but now claim you're invested in the game, but here we are. I'm not sure what you expect me to say here where it literally all boils dwon to what I already wrote in previous post: That's mostly meaningless, because no multiplayer game will ever make everyone happy. You like x, I like y, the devs need to make a decision either way.We can also reverse the question and ask how were you ok with non-stop boon spam and constant overkills and I'm not sure what answer can you give me to actually agree with you. The combat dynamic shifted, because obviously that was the whole reason for this change, so while absolutely not being perfect, it at least did something about the previous bad state of the game. The prior things that I did not like were not as large scale as this. I am not claiming I am now invested in the game I have been. Just now want my voice to be heard, and no multiplayer game will make everyone happy. I was mostly happy, now mostly unhappy I do not want to fight forever I hardly get the time to play for hours in one sitting. Everyone keeps saying it only added a few seconds, if you fight a worthy opponent(not that I am the best) it will go on quite some time(no longer spikes adrenaline). I am not trying to get you to agree with me, again I am just trying to be heard. If I am part of the minority then so be it then you will get what you want and I will not. I also never had a constant problem with boon spam or overkills(doing too much damage?).
  3. Do not release something knowing it’s broken. Except it's easier to gather data this way and I don't think it's broken to the point of making the game unplayable, so I'll live with that I guess. But I get what you're saying.True, analogy: it is easier to find the cure for things on dead people but we should try before that point and prevent it. The game was released 7 years ago aaaaand I think the devs will always be hated for something by someone. Just read some of the responses on this forum in regards of this patch. While some of them is definitely a good feedback, there are also people that don't understand what's happening and just cry for the sake of crying "because something changed". The main issue here is that the next balance patch shouldn't take 3 months, so lets see how that goes :p No it shouldn’t, and I will not hold my breath for it.I have spent a lot of time playing, acquiring, experiencing, and enjoying the game. And for those seven years it has been roughly the same. And I have had some complaints but never enough that I wanted my voice heard. Now I am speaking up and do not wish to wait months for more “fixes”. Interesting opinion which I (and apparently many others) disagree with. I don't see how suddenly "everything is broken". Instead of watching what to me was experienced combatants fight it is now just paper bags slap boxing. I just do not understand how you(as a whole opinion) are okay with it? I am open minded. But the combat dynamic has shifted and I play GW2 for a reason instead of other offerings.
  4. Do not release something knowing it’s broken. Game developers get hated on when they full release a game before it’s worked out and sold as a finished product and not a test. If they released this in a open test server then fine fix the issues there prior to full release. CoughanthemcoughI would rather have the game prior with few broken things that are manageable over break everything with few full working things. FB and Necro are not broken everything else is unfinished and compromised. Also, I read somewhere they should have adjust health pools or toughness instead. I’m not an expert but I would like to have seen this in play.
  5. I disagree, you should be able to do either. I did not join a group until I had a pretty good understanding of what was going on. We’ll have to agree to disagree. ?I accept, differing views allow things to progress in the middle ground. Disagree, I did not learn from dying fast or following a tag. I learned from the time it took to cap the camp with inefficient build/equip. In the starting areas of the game nothing there will stomp you easily. As you travel further from home it gets more intense sentry-camp/mercs-tower-keep-castle-borderland map holds. Progression is always key I guess in my opinion people shouldn’t be hopping into WvW from the starting areas. I would go so far as to suggest that people should have at least one toon that completed the core story. Not that the story itself is the best way, but at least you are introduced to multiple enemy types, conditions, champions etc.I did not mean that as people should join right from the start grounds. Granted I tried when I first started because I was ranger and trying to collect em all pets. However the story/open world is way less harsh than WvW/sPvP. When I was starting to jump into the fighting other players sPvP was far too daunting and everyone was mad for my horrible plays. So WvW where as a single individual of I mess up while learning it hardly impacts the team. So progression in that sense helps and that’s why I brought it up. Also, see edited post above.
  6. I disagree, you should be able to do either. I did not join a group until I had a pretty good understanding of what was going on. Agreed, time/effort = value I don’t want to use the little time I have available to play for a low satisfaction cap. Progression is always key But I digress, we the players received X reduction in X game mode NPCs should receive X reduction in X game mode. Unless that was the issue at hand.
  7. That is not how I enjoy playing, like I mentioned sure there are easy ways to take camps out even some I can go AFK and just come back when it’s done. However, that is not satisfying or engaging and I am not asking for everything to be easy. And I do not believe that is the point of this discussion either. We as players were scaled and so the NPCs should be too “balance” it out equally. Our CC damage lost, the lords still exist and hits fairly hard. As I mentioned the time/effort for the value is too great in most cases. People are naturally going to go for the path of least resistance, It’s why bugs are exploited. Less effort for the time or more effort for less time.
  8. Agreed, they are only camps and do not provide that much value as a primary target. Towers/keeps are the HVT and take time/effort to even get inside let alone take down the NPC and cap but have much higher value than a camp.
  9. I mean what do we lose? I can flip a camp without any issues now and I could do it before. It makes no difference. But give weaker players ways to contribute and feel useful! We all benefit from that at the end of the day. Not sure if the balancing of a team-based mode should happen around the accomodation of new players doing solo stuff there. To believe that it is enough to reduce the game mode to mass pvp is delusional. Server population balance is a mess (at least in EU, don't know about NA) and in general the population is too low several hours a day to team up (at least in EU, don't know about NA). If you don't keep solo players in the game mode for some time by giving them stuff to do, then the game mode will bleed out even more. @acidic.4356 said:i believe something is only an achievement if its not easy to doIt is not easy for new players. They don't have the damage trait against guards. They don't have wvw infusions. They probably don't even have ascended gear and don't run decent builds as they lack experience to build adequately. Sum that up and a newbie deals 50% less damage to a guard than you do. Plus if a player comes by to defend the camp the assistance of the camp will be enough to push out the offense or win the fight which is how it should be(player based).
  10. if you find it annoying, change how you do it ? learn your class better? pretty sure we were all new once, and have improved ourselves from that point, to now be able to take camps/towers/whateva... you learn stuff as you go, like stackin the camp dudes with los.. etc I did change how I do it, in that I do not. I don’t play in a PvP based mode to deal with NPCs for so long. And I can always improve and learn my class and others better. However, dealing with a camp of NPCs before was fun and was the right amount of engagement. I just no longer get satisfaction out of taking camps it is more tedious and doesn’t give me value for time/effort = reward. And also when I started I didn’t have a synergetic build or set runes with only exotic gear. I appreciate the discussion but learn your class better is not the end all statement. I can always find a cheap way of taking a camp and many people do. Ex. Speldon you can just draw the champ over and do it for you entertaining but not what got me into the game. Fast paced action style gameplay did.
  11. I mean what do we lose? I can flip a camp without any issues now and I could do it before. It makes no difference. But give weaker players ways to contribute and feel useful! We all benefit from that at the end of the day. i believe something is only an achievement if its not easy to do, therefore id say let the new players learn by their mistakes, they will probably feel a better accomplishment after a few trys, rather than just easy mode. ( not that its not easy - if ya get my drift ) also i saw plenty new players die to camps even prior patch - its a game mode and we need to be able to learn it, not have easymode and learn nothing except its easy.Exactly prior to patch without the trait it was no fun, now post patch with the trait is much more annoying to take camps I could not imagine without the trait.
  12. Let’s all call this patch a loss and hit the restore to previous build button. Fix a few things there and move on in a positive way. At this point I keep playing to try and like it and always end up fairly disgusted. I played this MMO because the other offerings were slow and way less involved. Instead we had an action packed and face paced game and it hit every part of what I ever wanted. I want to boycott this game right now but that will not change anything for Anet. My only hope is they will come to their senses and go back to a more enjoyable broken then this product we have now.
  13. Agreed I thought they might have changed it without putting notes out. Then I attempted to solo a tower and was horribly mistaken. Now why would you nerf the players in a PvP style mode and leave the NPCs with former build. At the least I think dropping their damage would help their CC hits hard.
  14. I see a few people mentioning there are more CC and stuns etc. the reason for that is reduced stability up time. Probably the same amount just hitting you more often in blob fights which are fairly unsatisfying to play a part of I can hardly punish the ones that think they can stray from the group and get away with it like I used to. Instead they just safely walk back to their respective blob and we continue the pew pew fights against each other.
