  1. It's interesting how often Anet stress that they want to be treated with respect, yet they show utmost disrespect for their customers lately. Letting performance issues like the ones we are having since weeks just sit and not even leaving an official statement is disgusting.
  2. Couldn't agree more with you guys. Same here, LS4 and PoF maps laggy to the point where they are unplayable. Anet were never good at communication, but their radio silence concerning the lags is a middle finger in the customers face. Seriously: There's so much wrong with this game on the technical side. Anet: Keep the game playable at least. Don't slap new spaghetti code (i. e. content) on old one thus pouring more fuel in the fire, UPGRADE YOUR ENGINE, learn to COMMUNICATE and treat us like the persons who are financing your paychecks. And don't let the 24/7 players who finish new content in one or two days dictate the pace of your release cadence. Start to work on the foundation of the game - finally. You have a gem of a game there, unbelievably good art design, a fantastic combat system, an innovative build system, lots of hard work, dedication and love that obviously went into it at some time... and you let it rot. I just wish that the game would mean nothing to me anymore, unfortunately that's not the case, and I guess I'm not alone. And you, Anet, should act before love for the game turns into indifference. Because from that point there's no return. Stop further ruining the good will of the player base. Why are you so dead against talking honestly and with nothing held back to us regularly, f. ex. with a monthly update on the subject of technical issues? Are you not planning on doing something about it? Then be so fair and let us decide whether we want to bear with it or not. Or are you willing and ready to troubleshoot, just that it will take a while? I wouldn't mind. To be honest, I'd rather have a smoothly running game than new content every few months. Is staff (in other words: money) the problem? Then why not figure out how to solve it? An optional monthly sub fee the revenue of which goes straight into manpower to upgrade the engine and iron out bugs? I wouldn't even insist on having any in game advantages for the fee, I only would expect you guys transparently showing progress on a regular basis. But that's just me. Anyway I'd rather spend money on that SPECIFIC purpose than buying a ton of beautiful but useless skins just to get another LS episode. I'm 100% sure most players would appreciate you just being open about such problems, thus re-connecting to the community and offering us some kind of insight into what's going on so we can understand and be given a chance to decide how to react. I think we deserve that much. And you deserve a satisfied community.
  3. I don't have arcdps and I already did the repair procedure. Didn't help. But neither did redownloading the bat file. Thanks for your reply though!
  4. Same for me, on both my accounts. I get to the character selection screen, try loading a character, then the game crashes and sends an error report to Anet. I guess while applying todays patch (from 08.08.2020) something went wrong when updating the dat-file (the huge one in the GW2 install folder where all the game assets are stored). I deleted it and am re-downloading it right now. Don't know if that will fix anything though. It's massive (52 GB), so I don't recommend that procedure for people with slow internet.I'll keep you updated if that helped.
  5. Honestly, after reading all the topics about this issue, alot of people lost legendaries or gems, so my frustration basically faded, as it is undeserved. They lost way more than me. But nevertheless all of us spamming with such topics won't help some say, yet this is how protests take place. So yes, i think its not wrong to raise your voice. Theres alot of issues with the game, for years now, that haven't been adressed properly or at all.Its just a game in the end, but a game where people invest money and time, and i speak this not in my name, but in the name of those that lost huge amounts of gold, gems or legendaries.Meanwhile, i shall wait for aNet to adress and solve this. Theres still faith. I agrre with you almost completely, but "it's just a game" is just something that I don't understand. I live in Germany, and over here soccer is one of the most important things in the entire country (don't ask me why). A whole industry is connected to it, politicians make use of it to raise their popularity, people are committing their entire lives to it, there are nation wide celecbrities among the players. Noone says: "It's just a match." But when it comes to PC games, even we as the people who like that stuff are talking it down. We need to build more self esteem in that regard. It's our hobby, and it's as important as any other hobby that has become socially accepted.
  6. If they cannot revert the rollback the support will need weeks to sort this out, refund people, restore hard to get items etc. That would be the worst case scenario.
  7. This is super frustrating., I agree, Gundahar. And frustration is the very least thing a customer shoulfd feel about a product. This whole situation has been piling up over years, not just because of the Corona virus crisis. GW 2 has Performance issues since I started playing it in mid 2017. And from this day on we are told that thoroughly upgrading the engine "doesn't pay". That's quite something in the ears of a customer. "Doesn't pay".Perhaps what happened now is a bit of a wake up call for Anet to finally do something about the technical issues of the game. I somehow feel that what happened now is serious. Though that's just speculation my side.
  8. This is not "just a game". This is a product - albeit a virtual one - that Anet expect to generate revenue 24/7. So they should provide support 24/7. Get a decent customer service center involved and work out some escalation routines. Put someone in charge of community care. And learn how to communicate and to perceive people playing games not as "gamers" but as customers. BTW that's the self perception we also should have. Imho the word "gamer" is an insult.
  9. My god, people are pretending as if Anet would have to go out of their ways to keep the community (or better: paying customers) informed asap. I was working for a TINY internet service provider here in Germany when we stil had analogue internet access only and I worked night shifts and vacation times like Chrstmas and New Years Eve - to help get people online, not just for reporting incoming server problems. And that provider was really tiny. That minimum of customer service can expected from Anet. Generally, their customer service is far too slow.
  10. This is something that causes monetary harm as well. And if it's just as small as XP boosters I bought to make the tedious level up process in GW 2 a bit less painful. Apart from having leveled up another profession to the max, having farmed a lot yadayadayada. It's understood that Anet have a lot of technical problems they decided to just let sit. But what they did today takes the cake.
