I don't understand why someone living in the same time zones as NA would play on EU, it's beyond me. But then I actually play against BB and I know the answer is you would all get farmed, guilds and all, if you played during prime time on NA or EU.

Wouldn't you be in favour of having a link even if that meant getting full like everyone else? Wouldn't you feel more normal? Say you get one of the german servers that wake up and have blobs at 6am CET, it would be seamless.

Okay first I'll start off by saying, BB definitely had a lot more than the last time we faced them, contrary to what I said before, so apologies on that.

Second, as an NA on EU, the people you play against oscillate a lot between HOLY CRAP THAT BLOB and dead, time to train.  But there is a sweet spot you cannot get playing on NA servers in that time.  Its not open field blob v blob and its not havoc v havoc.  Its a nice little in between, maybe 15-20 v 15-20 v scattered others on the 3rd team.  Thats the type of gameplay I love about being NA on EU.  Also, since there are only 3-5 other regular enemy commanders, you learn what works best against who.  Its much more difficult to get that kind of feel on NA during prime.

Theres also some community issues over on NA, too, but thats why I left, not why I stayed on EU.

    This is false.

    1. Gandara does not have queues on Friday and Saturday evening and this is a FACT.

    2. It's not just BB that outnumbers Gandara even on Friday and Saturday. Desolation has similar numbers (perhaps slightly less) and AM traditionally also has about the same. BB is much higher than anyone else, including Gandara and all of the above

    3. This week and 2 weeks ago Baruch Bay had 2 different blobs both equal in numbers to Cormac's lonely tag st the weekend. And because he spent his time porting and defending (see no queue for a large tag swapping between EB and home border?), our kdr skyrocketed. Wipe one blob, move, wipe the other, rinse and repeat. And that's in the evening: later at night BB numbers stay the same or increase, while the opponents are fewer and fewer.

Either way the thread is not about limiting their numbers (that seems obvious, but it's largely irrelevant since they significantly outnumber only the 2 linkless servers), it's about forcing some change to make them more normal. Give them a link so they can go in higher tiers where with even numbers will average a 0.5 kdr and get farmed day and night. This server shouldn't exist in its current form. Why is there no spanish server on NA? Why do we have to suffer through boredom and weird/lopsided time coverage forced down our throats because the current system (and BB lack of skilled players) ensures horrible mobility through the tiers and imbalances at every level?

I can think of maybe one or two times in which Deso has had comparable numbers to Gandara at that time fri/sat and it was because we had a link that also had night people and a regular commander.  At most Deso topped at 35 and it was when we linked with RoF and there was no resistance.  The usual is 10-15.

  3. Considering how they can go from full blob in the middle of the night Friday and Saturday and absolutely disappear long before midnight server time mixed with their periods of tanking, makes me think that a lot of them have 2nd accounts on other servers to play those other times. I can think of no other reason why the HUGE difference.  Any other server with a steady commander that takes a night off, still has people that play.

I don't think its an auto-balance issue as much as people are not encouraged to do what makes sense. So remove Mag for a second. Lets take EB and Stonemist. So if one side holds Stonemist shouldn't it make sense for the other two to hit the side that holds it? So why does that not happen as often? Instead more often you will see 2&3 jumping each other. That's why we have 3 sides, but it turns more into 1&someone against whoever else there is versus 1vs2&3. That's one of the items behind this whole World Restructuring coding.

To do anything that would alter the natural dynamics of that on EB you would require some sort of buff or debuff system.  Like if a team holds a T3 SM for so long, the chances of a random Kool Aid Man spawning and busting down all the walls and gates increases in likelihood.  Or to phrase it in a less awesome way, the longer you hold something, the harder it is to continue to hold it.

  5. The solution is some level of randomization of the player base.  People congregated in a few spots to carry each other and be lazy and farm everyone else.  It isn't that much different from autobalancing teams in other games, its just larger scale.

The devs need to uncap the number of guilds we can have….maybe increase the number to 10 guilds then  some of the roamers might have a home.  My current guild slots are full and I’m not going to drop them.

This isnt just a wvw problem.  If you want to be more connected to more parts of the game, it would make it so much easier with more guilds. It makes organizing things so much easier.

  7. Community is great for some servers, not so much for others.  There are a lot of people who grew tired of trying and congregated in the same place and basically left anyone who wants to try, suffering.  So now there are a handful of servers with good communities and the rest stuck in a malaise.  For every person that doesn't want to break up their community with alliances, theres just as many that don't enter wvw or dont want to fork out the gems to transfer that would benefit greatly from some sort of reshuffling system.

  8. Unique culture of people tired of carrying randoms so they stack where other people are tired of carrying randoms and thus create a hyper concentrated server of people with higher than average skill farming a mixture of people who like a challenge and who, for whatever reason, aren't as good, while also outnumbering them.

I really don't understand why someone would find that interesting.  Where is the challenge when you both outnumber and outskill your opponent?  Really all that happens is you lose your edge just end up being carried by numbers, anyway.

  9. Everyone piling on mag, but its not inherently a mag problem.  People like to play with others they mesh well with.  It happens on EU servers, too.  Everyone is just looking for a home to stay at and that results in unbalanced concentrations over time.

It just comes down to, do people want fair, challenging matchups or to be carried by their community?

  10. Yeah, I specifically remember Jed saying it and everyone being like "buh?"  I don't know if he was the first utterance but it was the first time anyone else had heard it, and he was never on another server that early.  If I had to choose a person, he would be my best guess at who did it.  Its a very Jed thing to do.

lol anet should make their version of the koolaid man but its oj man who runs around starting conflicts in the mists.

This is a joke but it could be a great tool to spice things up in wvw.

Random NPC just shows up yells out OH YEAHHHHHHHHHHH and busts through all the gates/walls on something.
