  1. What I ended up having to do was use a 3rd character, who was created in the last 30 days AND had never been to Plains of Ashford before. Than used that character to grab the POI and than the Tutorial Mastery Achievement popped and was able to complete. Try what was suggested above and see if that works. From my research most people's problem with this achievement stem from grabbing the POI while making a fresh Char (which won't count for achievement) or had an older character with the POI unlocked before the achievement was added/reworked.
  2. I see, that makes sense now. As per what I said earlier. My Charr was an older character, probably got the POI during the storyline. The character I just tried to get it on, might have actually had the POI from before that date you posted I will take the advice from the thread and try it on another character that does not have the POI yet and see if that works! Thanks
  3. This is a new character. Only 7 weeks old? Just did the POI on it for the first time and it did not pop. I am on a Human toon I started less than 2 months ago. Does that not count or do i need to actually make another new character and run him over to Plains and do it again? Doesn't make sense why it wouldn't pop on this toon I am using now. Human?
  4. The current character I am doing it on is lvl 80 and Human. THis character was made 50 days ago. I may have first unlocked the POI back in 2013-2015 when i first made a Charr and got it to level 40. Maybe before Tutorial Mastery was released? Now theres no way to pop the achievement even if the POI is picked up on a new character? Not really sure what's going on with it. I found some old posts about this achievement bugging out back in about 2015. I think it was fixed overall but I had part of it done before the bug fix. It could be possible it bugged my achievement log?
  5. I am pretty sure all core Tyria content (POI's, Vistas, ect.) is accessible without gliders or mounts!
  6. I had the exact same problem using FireFox also. I do not use incognito mode. I also have Edge installed so i actually had to use it to access the website and purchase the game.
  7. That's a pretty cool bug, game loaded holiday decorations in that instance for some odd reason. Nice wintersday cheer in summer 😃
  8. I have obtained the POI, and also done the event for Barradin's Vault in Plains of Ashford. Is there any reason I am missing as to why the achievement Tutorial Mastery - Plains of Ashford: POI Barradin's Vault is not completing in my achievement logs? Just trying to finish off these tutorial mastery achievement steps and I think I came onto a bug? Not sure though.
  9. Thanks for the ideas! I will probably wait on instanced PvE (Raids/fractals ect.) until I get better internet in a few months. I am playing on SpaceX's StarLink internet right now and it has some major Latency / Ping problems right now. Not trying to DC 4 times during a raid lol But Open world content is my jam right now. I have been scouring the achievements and watching Videos on intruducing me to the plethora of unlockables there are!!!! Yes this community is pretty awesome! I can't believe it took me this long to dive into GW2 but I'm glad I finally did 😃 I'm working on my open world PvE Reaper build right now. I've unlocked about 70% of the Reaper Skills so far and having a blast with that spec! I have also been looking into Engineer and Elementalist. They look so fun as well! I tend to do the same thing. While I'm learning and absorbing information I will go with a tried and tested build, and than start changing a skill here or there too fit my personal play style. Wow great list here! I just watched my first videos on Gryphon / Rollerbeetle unlocks the other day. It'd definitely a grind but looks like I'll get too explore and see a lot of the map while doing so, so that's exciting! I am finishing up my main story journal stuff right now, and working on crafting. But choosing a Legendary to start working on and starting the Gryphon grind are next on my list! You guys n gals are awesome and have given me so much to work with! I just wanted a little direction from the community too see what other people like doing. And this list is just what I needed! Kazumm
  10. Okay cool, sounds good. I'm sure after I get through some videos today on the topic it will all be more clear! Kazumm
  11. @Witch of Doom.5739 Thank You for the great info! I will definately use the tools you mentioned above. Herald Gaming / Krytan Herald's Youtube page looks pretty good also! I'm definitely going to watch that video and more. GW2Efficiency.com is a bit overwhelming at first but I assume once I am more familiar with crafting and Legendaries it will make more sense. From your statement above all Gen 1 Legendaries need Gift of Exploration? And do you only get 1 per character once 100% map completion is done on that toon? Thanks for all the great info! I definately have my homework for the week =P Kazumm
  12. I am 50% of the way into Reaper Specialization. And i have a Warrior who I specced Spellbreaker, but haven't leveled all the way down the tree yet. I wasn't ready for the Spellbreaker playstyle so it's just sitting there atm. I haven't researched any legendary crafting items at all yet! I am working on my Weaponsmithing and Tailoring right now (reaper crafting choices). But both are only around 100. I haven't purchased any mats on the Trading Post yet. Just been using self-grinded Mats. I will give the Wiki Legendary Weapons a look and see what's available for reaper. That will probably be my first class I craft a Legendary for! I'll do some wiki research but any crafting tips/tricks/hints would be most helpful! Kazumm
  13. Thanks @Jukhy.2431 for the end-game direction help. Still working on understanding the different achievement/collection unlocks. I'm still a 1.5k Achievement noob! The specialization collections link was very helpful especially. I think with GW2 and its horizontal progression style had me confused for a bit. Even though GW1 was a bit similiar, its still such a different system, but very enjoyable once you start to understand what stats your spec needs. Kazumm
  14. Yes those are the ones! I've been trying to figure it out as much as i can in-game, but it seems I am getting to the point where /Wiki is my best friend haha! I have also found the HoT metas to be really enjoyable. Dragon's Stand is a fun one for sure. Especially since I havent grinded skyscale yet. Im all gliding around from platform to platform amongst all the chaos haha. Definately a blast to do! Yes this is my go-to activity when I'm taking a break from the story for a bit. Pick a random map I have never explored yet and just try to 100% it! I have found so many fun and beautiful areas that way! Loving GW2! Kazumm
  15. I will also have to go check out this side story! I must have missed it in my travels. Kazumm
  16. Glad I was able to get a few replies! I have to agree at the moment I am having a blast going through the story lines for my first time. Doing Meta's, and Literally just exploring like you explained above @Danikat.8537! I love sticking around before and after missions and dialogue to hear the banter and lore pieces that are voice acted but not forced upon you. What do collections offer? I've come across them in the achievements. I am unaware of the benefits of completing the collections though. Also, quick question hopefully someone read this whole post.... I have about 10 items in my inventory that say stuff like "This residue lies dorment. It can be infused... ect" or "A Humming emanates from this orb, it can me amplified with an additional source of ect..." I've tried going to the locations after double clicking the item to show location... but i cant tell what to do when i get to the area. Any hints?? Thank You lovely GW2 community! Kazumm
  17. Yeah I've been slowly looking through the Achievements, I just do not know where to start because there are so many! I am also working on crafting. Not buying any materials with gold though so far. Just been grinding zones, salvaging and building up mats for now. I have Weaponsmith, Chef, Huntsman, Artificer, and Tailor all under 100 skill lvl though. I have no clue what Caladbolg is, what part of the storylihe is that from?
  18. Right on, yeah that kinda sounds a bit what I've been doing. If i find myself wanting to do something different than Story Journal missions, I'll pick a random map/zone and go explore. Complete hearts, grab Vistas and PoI's. And usually have found most of my Map Meta's that way. Stumble across 45 people on a Meta, join up and have some fun. I found /wiki et recently and have been using that to plan out joining Meta's. Been doing alot of the HoT Meta's, and now starting up PoF Meta's. Just trying to get the whole experience best i can 5 years late =P
  19. I purchased GW2 3,500 days ago. Wow, okay. It's been quite while since I've logged in. 1 lvl 40 toon and 1 lvl 30 toon-ish, sweet. I guess i played less than i thought a few years ago. Ehh, let's start a new character. I used to play Necro in GW1 so let's give this a proper try..... 25 days later. 145 hrs. My Reaper has completed "My Story", Watched Season 1 Vids, played through Season 2, Played "HoT story", Played through Season 3, Played through Path of Fire, Working on Season 4 and Icebrood Saga next. Holy crap this game is as addicting as GW1 was back in the day. With much more to do now while building on the core concepts that made GW1 great. Anyways, so as I'm heading through all this story content... I'm thinking.... I don't want it too end, but i know it'll end (until 2022!). Yes there's some areas of the story that could've been polished/improved, but overall have been enjoying it. But when the storylines end, other than raids, fractals, and pvp, how else can i continue to experience this amazing world that feel so alive? I have plans to make a few new characters, keep having fun with the Meta's/living worlds. But like, what other sort of End-Game content / Lore content can I shoot for and/or experience once I'm finished with most of the storylines? I'm sucked in and want to experience more. And I know you nerds got some fun stuff to do in this game. It could be items to get, easter eggs, challenges, achievements to shoot for ect.... I am basically playing this game blind, haven't watched many videos, or researched much at all unless I'm completely lost. Just been grinding out Story's and Metas! Looking for some responses from you experienced GW2 community members out there. Peace. Love. Unity. Respect. Kazumm
