  1. Pretty sure at this point it doesn't matter what we were doing when it happened. kitten kicked the bucket lol. And all of my other games are on maint tonight as well. FML. xD
  2. Well I'll spare you the less on mail then and just give you my first hand experience lol. Both my wife and several friends who came back to the game shortly after I did recently had issues where their emails were being rejected by the email host (Hotmail or Gmail). Adding the support email as a contact resolved this, but it wasn't discovered to be an issue until I contacted support on their behalf -- because we too assumed they just weren't responding. But the disparity comes where I received a reply within 12 hours, and my wife and friends had varying response times elongated by the mail delivery issues. I'd say give it a shot with the contact adding anyway. 3 weeks is a long time for them to ignore an email and says to me it's more of a technical issue than a poor customer support problem.
  3. There are multiple layers to unpack when it comes to email delivery. To answer your rhetorical question, yes mail does get lost even with email, particularly where the conditions are not right. 1. If you're using a private email host that isn't a free host like hotmail etc, check with them that they've not had any bouncebacks when you've sent emails to forums@guildwars2.com -- your mailhost should be able to read what's going on through information obtained in the headers on the bounceback if at all. 2. If you're using a free email host like hotmail or gmail, your inbox can still reject them without you knowing. Hotmail is notorious for this, and requires you to whitelist the potential sender by adding them as a contact to override the global mail filtering preferences set by Microsoft. There are a number of possible reasons why you might not be "receiving" the reply, but these are the most common when it comes to receiving emails from ArenaNet/GW2.
