  1. I understand people who enjoy the Griffon but I don't care about speed and I like slower paced mounts and convenience, so Skyscale it is. Same reason I never use the roller beetle except to smash walls 😜

At least we have a choice even though I'd rather have the Skyscale not exist at all. The best thing to do is to unlock them all and see what you enjoy best.

  2. A nice, kind, caring and loving FFXIV player would probably tell you "then go play that game" so... then go play FFXIV.

If you think FFXIV doesn't need to create news and market itself you're delusional, the whole "success" of FFXIV is based on creating fake hype and paying media outlets and streamers to attract new players since a large portion of players do not stay on this game, it has a massive turnover rate. A lot about FFXIV is based on lies and manipulation.

Hell the producer himself has been throwing "letters of the producer" for years where he speaks for hours about nothing while showing printed arts marked as "CONFIDENTIAL" and people are like "ooh aah, he's such an amazing guy! What would the world do without him? What would I do to pass the time while I afk in town waiting for weekly reset on my 40$ mount with my skimpy cash shop outfit if he wasn't here to talk about what's coming up next and how much he's been working without ever eating for ten years to provide us with this absolutely wonderful MMORPG, this paragon of gaming experience -that has been delivering the exact same things for ten years all the while dumbing everything down-? Oh I have a customer for some cyber, sweet."

XIV hasn't lived to the hype, ever, never will, pretty much no game does. Hype is created, fake, made up and self-fed, people like to believe and belong, sheeps like to follow and belong, then start believing too, they feel that it makes them exist.

Is Anet handling the release of EoD perfectly? Of course not, but I would take Anet over Square Enix and that Yoshida guy anytime and that's coming from someone who has been playing FFXI (the only good and real FF MMORPG, never marketed) since 2003 and FFXIV on and off since 1.0.

And for the record I left FFXIV to come back to GW2 while "everyone" was supposedly moving to FFXIV, I didn't need any hype or news to make the move. And I'm glad I did considering how lazy Endwalker is, GW2 is where the fun is. And at least we have a nice and responsive customer service here.

I love it actually, this sort of diversity works for FF XIV so can work for this too. I just hope its not complete shift but just tied to this region.

Anything works in FFXIV because the world doesn't make any sense and is just a mix of everything in existence. The game itself has not identity.

  4. I tried it for a while and to be honest I ended up thinking "what is the point of this mount?".

The movement animations don't feel as good and natural as the other mounts and I thought it was actually too fast on the ground for a turtle. Or does the feet animation need a little tweak? I don't know.

I don't get why a turtle would slide when turning while on the ground either.

I am literally only talking about their fashion game, the thing I hate the most about GW2 that almost all other MMOs do better with FFXIV being my most enjoyable experience in when it comes to diversity and choices. We have some of the worst and biased fashion designers I've ever seen ruling over this game who only care about human females.

Are you really talking about FF everything is about oversexualized catgirls XIV? It's the MMO with the ugliest skins I've ever seen.

  6. Hello,

I am a returning player that pretty much always played Mirage and I was wondering if any other spec can dodge like Mirage?

I feel like I have been spoiled by Mirage and don't enjoy the normal dodge as much, this is making me unable to enjoy other classes even though I would like to try something new for a change as I feel a bit weak. I'll be honest though: I'm not too comfortable at action games but I enjoy GW2 very much anyway and the Mirage stationary dodge helps me enjoy the game even more.

Obviously I still haven't tried all the other classes and elite specs and I was hoping that maybe someone could point me to one that dodges like Mirage or maybe at least has skills or traits that mimics it, if it exists.

    Thanks!

  7. XIV and its producer are targeting a very specific type of crowd, they're basically out there bellydancing and creating rules to please the worst type of online players all the while pretending that they deeply care about their playerbase because that's all the "lovely" XIV dev team does. They did it not long ago by changing the icon of the sage job I think, because some players complained that the old icon gave them trypophobia.

Funny they don't apply these rules at all on FFXI by the way as content selling has been a thing there since forever. That is because it's not in the spotlight and it doesn't have that fake saintly aura that XIV has and relies on to bring new flesh (that rarely lasts long in the game anyway).

I sincerely hope other companies do not take ideas from XIV's team because it creates even worse online communities than we already have in MMORPGs. All shiny and nice on the surface and completely rotten and disgusting underneath.

And don't even get me started on what an oversexualized game XIV is and all the sexual things going on in the game, they know about it but yet won't add any rules regarding these issues. Their cash shop even adds things like very specific emotes that are clearly meant to be used in cybersex. But the community loves this and it brings in the cash, so no need for rules on this matter, the producer only asked his sweet little fanboys to please don't do these type of things ingame knowing all too well they won't stop and he doesn't want them to stop.

  8. Coming from XIV which is very notable for double (triple?) dipping and having an extremely expensive cash shop, I thought that there were not that many things on the cash shop here and was quite surprised, for a game without sub.

Let's also consider the fact that you can exchange gold for gem and buy pretty much anything you want in the shop with some patience and simply playing the game.

GW2 seems quite fair compared to most other MMOs.

  9. I'm not disabled, I don't really enjoy JPs and I'm quite bad at most of them. That's fine if I'm unable to clear some of them, unable to get some achievements or items or whatever.

I have a severe heart condition and I love cycling, I'm unable to climb some places I'd love to climb at least once in my life for completion and pride, do I ask for people to change the slope and make it easier to climb? No, I accept the fact that I can't do everything nor am I entitled to have everything changed to fit my heart's poor capabilities. On the other hand I'm sure there are things I can do that some other people can't, that's life.

Now you could tell me "well that's what games are for, escaping reality". I don't think all game content and game modes should be accessible to everyone, we don't all have the same capabilities and that's fine. It's probably not even possible to cater to everyone and it would create an ocean of bland over-easy games where people don't want to take a second to think, read or even try (we're already not too far from this actually).

Also, I don't enjoy PvP but I love clearing achievements, there's a whole bunch of PvP achievements and rewards I will never get, I don't mind.

I could go on and on with the examples.

I think GW2 is quite fair in giving players the possibility to earn things in different ways, it's not the case for everything but it's fine, if everyone can get absolutely everything there is no MMORPG anymore.
